Question 1 year progress, slow as ****

Its been almost exactly one year since i started working out and i have been enjoying it ever since.

my progress is far from great compared to what i have seen others achieve in a year, i kinda think it has mostly to do with my nutrition and was curious what others think.

I started out at around 174 lb and about 21% bf, now i am at 182 lb and around 16% bf. (bf% is just my guess, never got a test done)

i dont track my food, i guess you could say i do intuitive eating.

Tldr: If my lbm has gone up over the past year and my bf% down, have i been eating too little?

Dude I would say job well done! I think you have put on a decent amount of LBM as well as dropping bf where you can see abs now. My advice for you is to keep bulking up and gaining around 2 lbs per month and then cut down when you have your desired size, good luck!

Looks like good progress to me.

Don't compare yourself to other people. You don't know what their circumstances were or even if they made the gains in the time period that they claim they did.

A lot of people get no where their first year because they were putzing around. Your weight went up while your body fat went down. That's success.
    You can't help the hopeless.

    I agree.

Very nice job, OP. A lot of the "1 year transformation claims" are very suspicious, IMO.

thanks for the nice words, yeah i will definitely focus on eating a bit more, and try to gain more weight this year.

I never was a fan of the idea of dirty bulking but i guess i will just give it a shot, i can still slow down if i notice fat gains are getting out of hand.

yeah i guess you are right, when i think back i can't imagine how i was satisfied with myself while being in such terrible form, i am definitely happy with the progress i made, i just expected it to be more after all the time and work i put into the gym.

i used to take 1-2 whey shakes a day when i started out and a casein or blended shake before going to bed. all the milk products were causing issues so i had to stop. since then i try to get enough protein from my daily meals .

i still take the occasional whey shake after working out, if i know that i cant eat right away, but thats only a max of 2-3 shakes a week.
