The Pre-Summer Cut with SizeSlim (log)

Thanks to SizeSlim and their rep Lowroller21212, I am trying out my first product log here on the site. I have a journal over in the female section of the site where I post my workouts and some other things, like novel writing progress, but now I'll have this spot as well, at least while I'm trying out what SizeSlim sent.

The Product: SizeSlim weight loss support

The Claims: Provides clean energy, appetite control, increased metabolism and promotes positive mood (according to the bottle). The three basic points I'll be considering as I post will be the energy, appetite and mood. Hard to tell on the metablism on a one month basis plus don't have access to testing for such. Am interested in how the product will affect mood and not quite sure how to rate that but we'll see as we go along. There also was a mention of focus, which I could use to study this month too. On the downside, I'm not the best at taking pills on a regular basis, so that will make this a real challenge.

Bonus - I got three samples of kiwi strawberry preworkout and three samples of cucumber lime recovery. All products are listed as being sweetened by stevia.

    Current Status:
I started a 13 week cut at the beginning of March, getting ready for summer and trying to get in the "healthy range" for my height. Oh, and I'm female, if anyone couldn't figure that out.

    Height - 4'11.5"
    Weight - 132
Program - Ed Coan 10 week peak cycle
Current Calorie Goal - 1500 (goal of 70+ protein a day)
Other Products - rarely use but have Aminofast bcaas

I started my 13 weeks weighing around 135-136, so off to a great start. Will have to do a video update for my youtube channel and I'll start taking them then, so will be Monday. On week 5 soon for the peak cycle, so I'm going to need energy to get through as the weights get heavier but I remain in a calorie deficit.

Will post here several days a week, at least 3-4 with food along with other points (energy, appetite and mood). Also have pictures up on instagram. Fiction2Fitness on instagram and will link the youtube video when it's posted. Not sure what else to post. Guess it will do for now. :-)

Thanks. I'm looking forward to it but yeah, hard to say how the cucumber lime will taste. Will have to pick a good day to try it. Maybe after next deadlift day when the reps finally decrease to 5 instead of 8.

    Day 1

Video is in progress. My micro cards aren't quite able to manage the transfer of the 20 minute clip, not sure what I put the one with the most memory, so need to either find that or buy a new one. For now had to settle with upgrading my dropbox in order to get the video from the computer to the laptop. It takes a while to download so once that's done I can put it together on imovie then youtube.

I took two of the SizeSlim capsules along with trying out Muscletech Protein Cookie. I was given a box of the triple chocolate to try out, also from the forums on here. It says to take them with food.

Aside from the video, do have other bits to post. I took measurements about 2 weeks ago and the start of the challenge is a good time to measure too. Since it's a month supply, I will probably measure again halfway in the month then again at the end.

Extra note: Hormones are a factor and for me, it's during the beginning of the month. That affects weight and such just a little bit.

    Measurements (in inches)

    2-18-17

    hips - 38
    waist (smallest) - 36
    waist (upper) - 38
    chest (over bust) - 35
    chest (under bust) - 33
    thigh - 22
    bicep - 12
    wrist - 6
    neck - 13
    weight - 135.4

    3-3-17

    hips - 38
    waist (smallest) - 36
    waist (upper) - 37.5
    chest (over bust) - 34.5
    chest (under bust) - 32.5
    thigh - 21.5
    bicep - 11
    neck - 13
    wrist - 6
    weight - 133.4

Gym days are pending. I had deadlift day, yesterday, and managed the set of 8 reps at 215 lbs as I couldn't find the micro plates in order to do 210. Next is upper body accessory. Need to decide if I'm going to do them today or tomorrow. I have work at 11 am as it's my day in pharmacy. Have to figure out the days for this so I get enough rest before squats.

Next post should be youtube video. :-)

Looking like youre on your way already with the measurements coming down. You should see less cravings and avoid messing up with those impulse "easy" snacks and help you opt for better diet choices/staying at a steadier diet plan overall.

Thanks. The cut is off to a good start and looking forward to seeing how this goes. The easy snacks are quite available and I get a discount, so that temptation can get strong.

    Youtube and Day 1

Video is up! Got an update on my 13 week challenge, the introduction of the SizeSlim product along with the mention of the log, plus a muscletech cookie taste test. Got a lot done in one video.

While that was uploading, I ended up going to the gym after all for upper body accessory day. Don't often take anything with me but this time I had half a serving of Aminofast bcaas since I have the whole container and the pink lemonade flavor is pretty good. So many people at the gym tonight. Had to wait to snag one of the flat benches but after that things went quicker.

    Wide grip bench - 1x10 @ 45, 2x10 @ 55, 1x8 @ 65 (all with three count pauses)
    overhead tricep extension with rope - 2x10 @ 40
    tricep pushdown with bar - 3x10 @ 60
preacher curl - 2x10 @ the curl bar
    standing calf raises - 2x20 @ 140
    dip machine - 2x10 @ 75
treadmill - 20 minutes at a 5 incline, 3 speed then a little over 5 minutes cool down decreasing the incline

Had my second set of capsules with some of the broc**** slaw cooked with a little lime vinaigrette. Lunch was two turkey tacos from del taco minus cheese and tomatoes. Probably have a little less protein and fat than Fatsecret says since I skipped out on the cheese but not by that much. Right now it's listing me at 30 fat and 45 protein with only 900 calories consumed. Need to eat something more for sure before bed. Don't have a lot of food around right now as have limited funds until next pay day, which is Thursday. Then I will grocery shop and get more foods (meat and veggies for sure).

As for the factors involved: appetite, mood, and energy? Hard to judge just yet on them all. During my cycle I also can be either hungry too often or rather nauseated, sometimes going from one to the other at random. Bit of a nuisance when think I'm hungry then it's like, oh no nausea never mind. Anyways, off to a good start and we'll see how I feel as the days continue. Had plenty of sleep since it was my day off but have some morning shifts coming up. On the plus side, I remembered to take both servings today. Hopefully this log will help and I'll take the rest as planned.

Nice job tracking it all like that and remembering the capsules. I have a portable pill dispenser, one of those baby pill containers that helps. Great session, and following it up with turkey tac's!

Thanks. I started my cut at the beginning of March with just trimming down the calories. I appreciate the comment as I'm still newbie with the video making process and lack equipment but still enjoy doing what I can even if I'm just using my cell phone. And tacos are always a great option. Or burritos. Had a coworker where we joked often about how the answer was always burrito. Fun times.

Thanks. :-) I do have a little pill holder that came with one of my shaker cups. I can't find the actual cup as 2 out of my 3 have disappeared... but I have the supplement holders that came with the one. Will come in handy when I need to bring a serving or two with me. I could get other pill holders from work but eh, this will suffice.

Now to plan out my food and maybe study a little before work. Bringing in broc**** slaw with a flavored tuna pack for my lunch and an avocado as it was on sale for 88 cents. Gets the fat grams covered, which are probably good to maintain for this week considering those pesky hormones. Yesterday I only had about 1300. Today is a rest day but still will try to go a little higher and tomorrow should be squat day, so definitely will try to get over 1500 for that day. Supposed to squat 178 so will go for 180 2x5. Will post again tonight with food and SlimSize consumption updates. Need first meal so can take some before work. Maybe another muscletech cookie. Or I have a buff bake cookie, some protein bars (whey and non-whey) or even a Lenny and Larry cookie. So many protein options. hehe

    Day 2 - Done

Rest day from the gym. Worked mid-shift at work, which is 11 am to 7 pm so managed to get the first serving in before leaving the apartment along with a muscletech cookie. Had brocc-slaw, buffalo flavored tuna and an avocado for lunch. We were busy so I didn't even get lunch break until a little after 3:30 and had to go because after 4 would be late and they frown upon that. I was hungry anyways by that point. I also got hungry at the end too so wanted food when I got home but didn't have much available. It drifted rather quick but did eat a paleo protein bar along with the second serving for the day of SizeSlim. Not the biggest fan of the protein bars, just have a variety box to get through and really, the mint chocolate chip one wasn't so bad compared to some other flavors. I'm on the rough patch right after rent but right before getting paid again, so limited food wise. Ended up also eating a Lenny & Larry cookie just to get calories over 1000.

Appetite - bit hungry today for portions of the day.
Energy - Midrange most of the day then tired by evening.
Mood - Even though had some customers who weren't so pleasant.

Might go to bed early. I have to be at work by 7 am tomorrow, then will study/write afterwards until sister can come get me in my car. Need to do squats tomorrow so I'll do that in the evening because want to go to the gym closer to home instead of the one by work.

Are you taking Weight loss support in the morning? Ive found my hunger comes and goes but with WLS in my system I feel satiated for longer, like after a long fasted cardio-gym if i didnt have WLS I couldnt wait til a meal but with it my mood is better from hunger not being sky high like it otherwise would have been.

Depends on the day. Yesterday I didn't have to be at work until 11 am, so had a little food before leaving the house and I took the first set then. Today, however, I had to be at work by 7 am and I don't eat food right away, not that early. Not a food in the morning type. I had my lunch break today at 11:30, so had food and the supplement then since the recommendation is to take with food. Figure it'll take a little time to circulate in system before see more of the benefits plus have other reasons for random hunger/nausea spikes this first week. Pesky hormones.

Yeah I take it first after I wake up. I have noticed the difference, a few hours later I'm on dose 2, the more fasted the more I notice it working.

Thanks for the comments too. I have never tried chicken and waffles either, except for the lays flavored potato chips when they were doing the random flavors. One year included chicken and waffles, which were pretty good. I've not taken the pills first thing because the suggestion is with food on the bottle. But I suppose it's just a suggestion and not a rule... hehe. We'll see how things go and I might change it up.

Today, well, it was an off day. Not off from work just things weren't quite on kilter. I didn't really want to do much of anything. I didn't even really want to write or anything when I was at Starbucks waiting for my sister's internship to end so she could pick me up. My mood was just off and no real reason or anything. Even a guy at the gym I've seen a few times and talked to once asked if something was off today after we'd talked a little about micro-plates. The gym doesn't have 2.5's so yeah, I was off after that but still. Ended up going to the gym later than usual too but I used to lift late evening all of the time so it's not bothersome or anything for me to lift late. Was supposed to do 178 squat for 2x5 and last week was supposed to do 172. Since can't get to the odd numbers, last week I did 175 for two sets of five and this week was going to do 180. However, still no 2.5's at this location meant I had to either stay at the same weight or try 185, which is next week's weight.

    The workout:
    squat - 2x10 @ 45, 1x10 @ 95, 1x8 @ 135, with belt 1x5 @ 165 and 2x5 @ 185
overload - 245 for 20 count with belt
    single leg press - 3x8 @ 30
    single leg curl - 2x8 @ 40
    leg extension - 2x10 @ 60

Energy was a bit up and down today. Granted, felt tired in the morning with going to work and such. But felt fine during my workout and everything, so evened out overall.

Appetite wasn't too bad. Granted I was hungry in the morning but I also didn't eat anything until 11:30 am and I started work at 7 am. Didn't have to help unload freight but still was putting away stuff for most of the shift so kept busy. Felt better after eating too, of course. From there was fine and had a snack at Starbucks because had a free item but went for a lower calorie one. Didn't even drink all of my refill cold brew and might use it for a protein shake tomorrow. mmm coffee Calories were only about 1300 today.

Mood, not so great today. I'll just blame it on hormones, no midol and not having caramel filled chocolate and call it an off day. ;-)

Tomorrow is going to be a higher calorie day. Normally, I could wait in a cut to go out but last time I really went out somewhere and had drinks was back in August, so it's about time. We're going to go to a burlesque show and I'll have a drink or two. Not much but bit more "empty" calories than my usual. Plus, it's pay day! Time for some grocery shopping. Need more veggies in the house and other sources of protein besides bars and cookies. Hoping to see an upward swing with everything (except body weight). ;-)

Hey sometimes we get off days and its humbling to know how vulberable we are mental-physically. I try to eat as best as I can given what I know, to avoid those days and everything.

it still looks like a good workout with limited amp. I always have crackers (low fat stuff) that I have with WLS, dont feel like I need to hit a buffet line then even after all the work I do.

Very true. Not all days are great but we get through. Crackers or something small like that is a good idea.

Indeed, chocolate always helps. My sleep has been a struggle lately too.

Yesterday was way better, even before the beer and dancers. Even though I didn't sleep very well, it just was better overall with mood, energy and everything. Had my first wls with a cold brew protein shake that took me a couple of hours to drink as I brought it in with me to work.

Mood wise, much better. Had to deal with a lot of things, including getting a hold of a vendor even though I'm not in any management role. Got that settled, a couple makeshift resets since tech still hasn't fixed the issue this other small store has with the actual planogram for things. Kept busy. I brought a little food and got brocc salad from the local yummy.com location. The little store is nice because we eat lunch together and yesterday the pharmacist bought food from some place that all looked really good but I stuck to my food. I did try a bite of the pork mole because I'd never had it before and a couple of chips which were fresh made but that was it. Didn't even have much hunger even though my meal was small and the temptation was there (they also had a cinnamon sugar pudding bundt cake thing in the morning but I didn't even want any of it).

Gym went well too. Bench day at the location right next to the store. Since I always have time to use up waiting for my sister to come get me also got in some cardio.

    gym session:
    band pulls - 3x15
    bench - 2x10 @ 45, 1x8 @ 75 and 2x5 @ 95
    closed grip bench - 1x8 @ 45, 1x8 @ 65, 2x5 @ 80
    incline bench - 1x10 @ 45, 2x5 @ 70
    db side lat raise - 2x10 @ 12.5
    front single arm db raise - 2x8 @ 12.5
treadmill for 30 minutes at 5 incline, 3 speed then a 10 minute cool down

The show was fun. Very different. The group (doll faced dames) had quite the variety with doing three different acts. The first song they danced to was for some guy's birthday as there was a group there celebrating and they seemed to know the dangers. He chose the song and it was from South Park of all things. There also was an apocolyptic number that included a face mask, titanic and austin powers. And if you ever wondered... yes, they do make Leo di Caprio pasties.

    Anyways... here is a summary:
    mood - better
appetite - low (which is good)
    energy - better too

And I've not missed a serving yet. Off to a good start and will keep going as the scale results should follow soon.

Yesterday was way better, even before the beer and dancers. Even though I didn't sleep very well, it just was better overall with mood, energy and everything. Had my first wls with a cold brew protein shake that took me a couple of hours to drink as I brought it in with me to work.

excellent work ethic and that will be rewarded in the scale like you said. Ive never been to a show like that, way you described it it feels like I was there - Leonardo di caprio would be proud haha.

Why thank you. It was only my second burlesque show. The first was in a different location and while had a good idea for the set up, a cage that came down from the ceiling for each set, the execution didn't work. They had too many people crammed in the small location so it was hard to see. This bar was small too but not near as many people so we were able to sit comfortably and see the show up close.

Today was another good day. Went out for a decent lunch since finally have money. Tried out a place that does sushi, poke and even sushi in tacos or nachos. Was going to try boba but they didn't have any ready so skipped on that. I just had half a poke bowl that had some rice and some kelp noodles along with salmon, scallops and some tasty toppings including jalapeno. Stopped by Trader Joe's before work and got food for dinner. Been wanting pineapple for 2+ weeks now and finally got some. Dinner was just over half a squash/quinoa/wheatberry salad along with 3/4 of a mango and a few pineapple slices. Calories were 1300 but a little low on protein for the day.

Appetite seems to be under control. Felt a tiny bit nauseated at times and felt full easily. I have been thirsty though. I noticed it the past couple of days as I've been drinking more water. Need more than one bottle with me for my work shift. Not sure if it's related but something to note, the increase in thirst.

Energy level was decent. Appetite is suppressed thus far. Looking good at this point and still have the rest of the month to go.

Yeah sometimes you just cant help it, however over the duration of the bottle things should go smoother and for the most part under control. The dinner sounded interesting, sushi and nachos, now thats an idea - you definitely had fun!

Well, the sushi was lunch. I had just a bowl but will try the nachos some day when not on a cut. Not sure how I feel about the raw fish and hard chips combo yet that pesky curiosity will get to me. Night wasn't as fun cause I was at work until 11 pm.

Off to a decent start today. Woke up to cat cuddling. Sister is away but her cat never spent much time on my bed before. Now she's sleeping with me it seems. Now I'm at a Panera, which would be super high calorie but I just am here for coffee and a writing group. Hope to get progress on novel before going home for the fun of taxes and studying. Going to try and get deadlifts done later today. Lunch will be more sushi as need to finish my poke bowl and sister forgot to finish her burrito (which is just a roll that doesn't get cut) so even though it has more ginger than I'd care for, I'll have to finish it as we don't like wasting expensive food. Cat will get a little fish too.

Had a nice, productive day off from work. Finished chapter 5 finally in a novel I'm working on as part of my 13 week challenge, got my taxes filed at long last and went to the gym. Energy levels are good. Appetite is low, which is what we want with this, and mood seems to be fine.

    The workout:
10 minute warmup on the elliptical
    deadlift - 2x8 @ 135, 1x8 @ 185, belt 1x5 @ 205 and 1x5 @ 225
    sdl on 35 plate - 1x8 @ 155
    yates row - 2x8 @ 95
    clean - 1x8 @ 45, 1x8 @ 65, 1x8 @ 75
    assisted wide grip pull-up - 1x10 and 1x8 @ 7
    one arm db row - 1x10 @ 37.5
30 minutes on treadmill at 4 incline and 3 speed then 10 minute cool down

Not sure when this location will get 2.5's so it was either do 215 again for 5 reps when I'd done 8 reps last time, or do 225, which is technically next week's numbers. So, next week then I will either do this one again or increase. Depends how I feel. The scale is still being a pain but I'm in a deficit so should see the numbers go down as the month progresses, or I'll have to hit it with a hammer. ;-)

Appetite is quite low today. Didn't even feel much like eating. Still need to get some food consumed in order to reach the minimum as I don't like to get below my bmr much. Want to lose weight and be healthy, not go too low. The sushi isn't that great the second day cause being in the fridge made the rice hard, but the salmon is quite tasty.

Cat gets some salmon too. I would have posted earlier but had Chloe in my lap. After I got home from the gym and she woke up from sleeping on my bed, she came over and decided to doze off in my arms instead. Would have probably stayed longer if roommate and her guy hadn't gotten home. He is kinda loud so kitty got scared and ran to hide.

    She likes to cuddle.
