LOL, that is hilarious and true. He has way more equipment than 99.9 gyms. It's almost like an equipment dealers warehouse.

    Thumbs up

    Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my journey with you on how I started my fitness journey at home. When I first started, I had no idea what equipment would be suitable for me. I spent a lot of time researching and trying to find the perfect equipment that would fit my needs.

That's when I stumbled upon https://www.treadmilldoctor.com/, and they were a game-changer for me. Their team of experts helped me find the best equipment that would suit my goals and needs. They were incredibly helpful and patient, answering all my questions and providing me with great advice.

I am still using the equipment that I purchased from them, and it has made a significant impact on my fitness journey. I highly recommend checking out their website if you're looking to start your fitness journey or want to upgrade your home gym.

best rows and pull-downs combination for limited space

Has anyone tried the new Panatta Freeweight Circular Row (1FW204)? How does it compare to the Monolith or FitEvo versions (1MTH004 & 1FE004)?
From the pictures it seems that the resistance profile is not ideal (heavy at the end) and different then the selectorised versions.

I want to add 2 seated rows, 1 high row, 1 lat pull-down and 1 vertical flat/decline chest press to my homegym.
For the rows I was thinking the Prime Hybrid Row plus one Panatta circular row.
The Panatta selectorised versions are much more space efficient then the plate loaded one, but I'm not sure if the weight stack is enough (max 120kg) or if any of the version is significantly better then the others.
As an alternative to the Panatta circular row, I'm looking at Panatta Super Rowing (1FW104) or Gym80 4322 (very compact).

For the high row I wanted initially to get the new Prime Lat Pulldown 2.0, but unfortunately it won't fit through my doors (120cm wide and 80cm doors) due to the weight storage pins (welded) and they don't want to sell it without them (no modifications!).
The Panatta Freeweight Super High Row (1FW003) will fit, but it does take a lot of space. Did anyone try all the Panatta versions? Are the monolith (1MTH006) or the FitEvo (1FE006) close to the Freeweight "feeling"? Would 100kg on the plate-loaded feel the same as 100kg on the Monolith version? From the pictures it looks like the FitEvo version would feel way lighter, while the Monolith version would feel heavier then FitEvo (the pulley system on the arm would double the weight), but still lighter then the plate loaded version, which makes me wonder if the heavy stack (120kg) would be enough.

The lat pull-down would be one of the Panatta circular selectorised ones (1MTH002 or 1FE002). Is one better then the other?
For the vertical chest press I'm also looking at Panatta, probably one of the circular ones or if space allows the Super Vertical Chest Press (1FW036).

That being said, I have space only for 1 large plate loaded machine, the rest would have to be selectorised. Which one would you choose? High row plate-loaded and the rest selectorised, chest press plate-loaded + rows selectorised, seated row plate loaded or another combination?
Any other recommendations? Gymleco rows are very compact, but I never tried one and haven't found any reviews yet. Prime Hybrid Pullover?

    1. The Panatta circular chest machines are really only worth it if you're tall enough so you don't start too wide, and are able to reach peak convergence.

    2. Gymleco has good space saving machines but you'd likely need heavier stacks to 140 kg, especially on their selectorized wide chest press.

    3. I'd recommend trying any gym80 equipment before buying. The strength curves are weird.

I think I tried all the Panatta High Row variations while I was in Apiro. I've also briefly used the Prime 2.0 Lat Pulldown.

First, I love the 1FW003 but it is large. The 1MTH006 Monolith version you posted is the Monolith version of the Freeweight Super Lat Machine Convergent (1FW001). So it is a different motion. That 1FW001 machine is well regarded but I didn't love the sharp drop off in the strength curve towards the end of the movement. I went back and forth between that and the 1MTH006 quite a few times. There is a non "super" version of the high row that many people like here. I think Richard62 has one among others. I prefer the grips on the 1FW003 but the non-Super one still offers two angles and is much smaller.

I will mostly be ordering Panatta Freeweight pieces as the motion is so much smoother. I'm also space-constrained currently but my view is I prefer the motion and think there is far less that can go wrong mechanically, which is important to me as someone that wont' have commercial repair service on the machines and doesn't want to wait for parts.

If you want that Prime piece, you should consider getting it with the weight horns and cut them off (perhaps you could just shorten them?)

Ultimately if you are able to afford to order pieces like this, you are probably going to end up getting more space eventually so you should just order what you want long-term given the lead times are 5-10 months these days.

Amazing thread that I took a lot of inspiration building my own dream home gym. I bought mostly Panatta pieces with a sprinkle of select Atlantis pieces.

Does anyone know if the Cybex VR2 Tricep Extension mentioned here, targets the long head of the tricep?

I am trying to look for something that hits the long head that isn't in an overhead position as that usually irritates my bad elbows.

I honestly haven't even taken any real pictures because it's still a work in progress. I have a second order coming in a couple of months that should more or less finish my build then I'll post the final setup.

But here is one of the few teaser pictures I took for now lol

    He's on here and youtube

    *edit*

I've tried similar machines, technically it does hit the long head, but if you're trying to work around shoulder issues, you'd probably be better off using an adjustable cable column and getting the tension perfect with a setup personalized for you.

Mike Van Wyck has some videos on this to check out tricep training with the cable column

Please help me grow my home gym

Hey, I’m new to this whole home gym thing but I would like some insight and advice from anyone willing to help me. I have just graduated high school and am buying different pieces of gym equipment for my home gym. As of now, I have a Rouge half rack, dumbells, Rouge manta ray adjustable bench, Sorinex lat pulldown/low row, sorinex cable columns, Panatta adjustable preacher curl bench, and a prime fitness functional trainer. I am looking to add some new pieces, especially for the legs. I am looking for a “main leg builder” and was told hack squats and pendulum squats are the best, so I am looking at the Atlantis pendulum squat pro and hack squat pro. I am also looking for the best leg extension leg curl pieces, not a 2 in 1 but separate machines. Also looking for a good back machine I was told that the prime chest-supported seated row was a good machine but I am limited on space and would only like 1 back machine (already have cables for some back work). As I am limited on space, these are the main machines I am looking for at the moment, but if there are any other must-have machines for any muscle group please let me know. Thank you for your time and any assistance is much appreciated. 🙏

Could start by reading the first post in this thread, which proceeds to address your question.

In the spirit of this thread, cost no object, consider selling the free weight gear, for which one typically has no spotter at home, and possibly unsafe beginner skill, to make room in the limited space for the 6 core machines:

    • multi-joint perpendicular pull and push for the upper body
    • multi-joint parallel pull and push for the upper body
    • multi-joint push for the lower body
    • multi-joint push for the mid-body:

    1. MedX Avenger Seated Row
    2. MedX Chest Press
    3. MedX Torso Arm (Pulldown)
    4. MedX Overhead Press
    5. MedX Avenger Leg Press
    6. MedX Lumbar Extension

Alternatively, the equivalent six machines from the Panatta FreeWeight Special Super or the Hammer Strength Plate-Loaded Iso-Lateral lines.

After the six core machines, if there is sufficient floor space:

For the abdominals, could add either the MedX Torso Flexion or the Panatta Abdominal Crunch 1HP565.

For the lower body, could add:
    • Atlantis Standing Leg Curl C-107
    • Dynavec Gluteator
    • Prime Hybrid Inner/Outer Thigh
    • TK Star Super Seated Calf
    • UCS Spirit Glute Ham Machine

I was hoping that this would happen. It looks like Tyler has obtained the use of one of the only two "Competition" swing squat machines in existence to produce an upgraded copy. I'm sure it is Leo (DMV Iron Gym) that loaned it to him in order to get one of the new machines.

Excited to see the new machines that Tyler will be producing soon.

    Hi all,

I've lurked on this thread for some time, a lot of incredible gyms and knowledge. I placed my first Panatta order through Primo this summer, nothing listed on the tiers here but I will be receiving the FitEvo Standing Multiflight and Circular Row along with the SEC dual leg extension/curl soon.

I'd really like to add the Panatta Leg Press Bridge 1HP583 as my next purchase but would probably need a bolted version as I have to get inside a 30" door and make an immediate l-turn down 30" stairs to get to my basement. I know Healthnut has been putting off his next order due to building that new house but I'd be very interested if there's likely to be another group order direct from Panatta. Thanks!

I'm also interested in a group buy, but I'm not paying ridiculous Primo prices. I've seen the EUR pricelist for Panatta and folks in the US are paying is completely insane. So let's figure out how to do a direct European order with Panatta.

Is the UCS lat pulldown still the absolute best lat pulldown? I am in the market for a lat pulldown cable machine and a low row cable machine. Combined would be great, but if the true cost no object elite ones are seperate. That is fine. Should I go with the UCS versions? Or are there better on the market now? I have heard Legend makes good ones as does Sorinex, but not sure if they are the best of the best. Anyone with experience care to help? Thanks in advance.

I also am in the market for a bench. I see the ELite FTS 0-90 is highly rated in the OP post, but a lot has changed since then with benches, and it appears the ELITE FTS bench hasn't changed much. From what I have seen the Rogue Manta ray, Stray dog alpha bench, and the Irwin Fitness one are highly rated by the Youtube reviewers. Which one of these is the best and is there any that yall think are better?

And is there any consensus on Cost no object best dumbbells? Watsons? Iron Grip?

What are the main "cost no object" brands? Basically, the generally speaking best brands. I saw reading back in the earlier pages, there is no one brand that is the best at everything and yall love finding the one hit wonders, but what are the real "most likely the machine is going to be good" brands?
    atlantis
    cybex
    prime
    panatta
    hammer
    arsenal

Any I am missing or should remove?

    Hey fellas.

Great thread, I’m putting in a panatta order for my gym at the moment and could probably help if people want to piggy back on it
