Looks like this is actually gonna happen. Multiply sources confirming McGrefor is heading to Vegas to meet and they have already agreed on terms. This fight can be official in 2 weeks time
Current "3rd party hold up" right now tho

Exactly.
What commission is going to sanction this?
They have the final say on whether this happens at all, regardless of who agrees to what, and even then it has to go through DW and the UFC first. And there will be no winning with the UFC in court if it does ultimately go there. They will literally sit it out until conor's career is over and he's past his prime, and drained him of every penny he has and then remind him again - "you're still under contract". He should ask couture how contracts work.
Or option 2, DW and the commissions ok the fight. I don't see it happening unless the UFC can be talked into a huge payday. They DO have a $4B bill to pay so they may jump on it, who knows. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if it went either way, but DW hasn't taken a chance on anything like this since chuck liddell."I would fight anyone of the UFC LW's, but the problem is that I will never put my foot in the octagon after they (UFC) tried to be funny, I would rather have bleeding hemorrhoids than fight for the UFC. I would rather have one true Japanese MMA supporter than one million fake mainstream supporters that will turn their back on you as soon as you lose a fight. - Joachim Hansen

Floyd's latest Insta post:
There seems to be several rumors floating around media recently however, let the record show, there hasn't been any deals made in regards to a fight between myself and any other fighters. I am happily retired and enjoying life at this time. If any changes are to come, be sure that I will be the first to let the world to know.

What fuking commission is going to sanction this? A guy with some amateur fights under his belt vs. a 49-0, 5 weight division champion who's on everyone's all-time pound for pound list.

I think this is extremely unlikely. In the event that this hypothetical match were a boxing match, why would Dana want to bring more attention to the fact that it's UFC vs boxing when the likeliest outcome is that the UFC fighter gets embarrassed by the boxer? This only hurts the credibility of MMA and not only that, for decades to come, boxing enthusiasts will be able to hang that over the heads of mma enthusiasts.
To paraphrase TJ DeSantis, we all know who's the better boxer. And we know who's the better mma fighter. So unless it's some mixed rules fight with kicks or something... what the hell is the point for fans? Either Floyd gets killed in a mma fight or Conor gets killed in a boxing match. Either Floyd loses his undefeated gimmick (although not as a boxer) or Conor gets killed and harms the UFC's marketability/boosts boxing's marketability.
For those reasons, (and a hundred more) I'm still confident that this fight will not happen.

not saying I believe conor would win, because I believe he will be embarrassed if it actually happens, but I think you're underselling mcgregor here a bit. he's a professional combat athlete that fights with 4oz gloves. there will be no issue with getting this sanctioned anywhere they would like it.
no way the UFC takes this risk of putting its brand against boxing when its a fairly sure thing that conor get's his ass kicked.Lets Go Brandon

We know each of them would dominate at there own sport
Let's be honest tho let's say they fight in a boxing match and Floyd kills McGregor but doesn't know him and wins by decision.
Even tho McGregor lost he can claim he stood in the ring with one of the best boxers. It will only drove UFC sales up next time McGregor fights.
Boxing fans or even causal boxing fans who have no idea who Conor McGregor is will now know his name.
It's a win win for Conor and the UFC."The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do"

This is the best response to this IMO:
The end-all reason that this won't end up happening is because floyd knows he's the ONLY person who has something to lose here. The only thing that calls him out of retirement is a MASSIVE paycheck, or Conor just ends up getting in his head with so much trash talk he feels like he has to do it.Cologne Crew

This is what is wrong with combat sports today. Everyone who says Conor has been great for the sport are wrong.
The UFC pandering to his demands has now made everyone from Bisping to Nate Diaz want to pick their fights to make the most money.
Conor wants to fight Mayweather just for the money, and the UFC are letting him sit with two belts and talk chit all day and not having to fight.
The fact is everyone wants Mc******* to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov, but he won't because he will be instantly submitted and tap like a bitch.
All the casuals want him to fight Mayweather.
The McGregor fights changed Nate Diaz's bum life and now he has so much money he doesn't want to fight unless he gets more millions. His brother made a chit load from the Silva fight and he won't fight again unless he gets millions.
Chit used to be fun when the UFC paid the fighters peanuts and then they would have to fight just to feed their kids. Now they are all pandering for the big money fights and when they get them they refuse to fight again unless they get a chit load of money.

Doubtful for these reasons:
- Although there are 35M Americans claiming they have Irish ancestry, McGregor is still not a household name here in the US.
- How popular is McGregor in Asia who has 63% of the world's population?
- Ireland have 5M population. Potentially how much of them will buy the ppv?
- Doubt he'll get huge support from the UK.
- Boxing purist wont fall into this and spend $ for ppv.
It will surely sell but not to that level. Could possibly exceed Floyd vs Dela Hoya's 2.4M buys though but gonna be hard to reach 4.6M.Steam - jinda28
