This question always comes up when building PC's.
eventually there will always be newer and better components
I haven't kept up with stuff to see if the new lines are releasing yet this year, but I have always just built and will build when I need or want a new PC
I'm digging the 4k, I forgot how much better that looks than 1440p lol.
But I don't miss 16:9 for FPS. I feel like I'm missing out on so much real estate.
100hz vs 60hz I still don't notice a difference.
It's gonna be hard for me to justify $1000 for the UHD430 when I can continue buying $500 34", 21:9, curved, 100hz, 1440p monitors all day.
Plus this CF791 with VA panel + QDot has spoiled me over these Korean IPS monitors. The colors just aren't there.
TL;DR
40" or 43" 4k = great for office, productivity, multi-tasking
34" curved = still GOAT for gaming+++ Positive Crew +++

Thanks. I'd rather not get used so it looks like the wasabi mango u430 is the top choice so far
unfortunately it looks like my home monitor crapped out so i'll be needing to upgrade that first though =[
Made a thread about it. Couldn't figure out if it was my gpu or monitor or something else
-replaced my displayport cable. issue continued eventually
-lowered x34 overclock from 95hz to 80hz. issue stopped for a few days but returned
-removed gpu. issue stopped for a day but returned
-going to borrow a monitor from my friend and run it but as of now the issue HAS to be the monitor. otherwise it's some other component like dead power supply (would be way cheaper to fix)
such a hassle
Why would you recommend something so expensive :0MS, Computer Science

Looks like they ran out of stock, but these used to be $500 brand new, shipped to you.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Crossover-3...UAAOSwt5hYig30
I had 3 of them for awhile, but ended up selling them. 34" 100hz isn't really useful for second + third monitors.
Here's one of them for $425 used:

With all this pre-2080 info coming out, a lot of 1080tis are being dumped for $300-$400 each
might be time to build a new PCLast edited by PositiveCrew; 08-18-2018 at 12:25 PM.

I'm thinking about downsizing my number of rigs. Anyone interested in a used MSI Duke 1080 or an Asus "Dual" 1070 for $400 and $300 shipped CONUS? I have some more I might list if I can find the packaging.

Thoughts on this pre-build? I have never owned a gaming PC before. I have only run on low settings on ****ty laptops my whole life but finally have a good jerb to warrant such a purchase.
Is this good?

It's not horrible, but it's not awesome either.
Here is a list of the parts if you buy them separately. Keep in mind I don't have their keyboard, mouse and case included. That there can cost close to $200. Also I used a different SSD (better one) and a different PSU.

lol you prob waited to long lmao. you can buy new 1080 for less than 400 already and were probably getting 1080ti performance for $400ish today with 2070. ripp
he could even save about $100 bucks on the gpu now too.
Its not one of the better deals out their tbh. also new gen GPU's are announced/released today so you should wait for prebuilts with last gen gpus to go down in price.Steam/Origin id: Fivefootkillerz RSN: Hi cookie

Any reason why you want a prebuilt and not build it yourself? It's really easy man. A lot of us here can even walk you through the steps of building it and will answer any of your questions. You can easily save $200 from building your own. Also do you have a monitor?

I got this for when I was playing Cod on my xbox one --> would this suffice for a pc desktop? https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-24-Inch-.../dp/B007HSKSMI
I just don't trust myself handling very expensive pieces and don't want to **** anything up. Lots of people are saying pre-builds are worth it right now with how expensive certain parts are because of mining (w/e the **** that is). I don't mind overpaying 100 dollars to get the thing already built.
I was also looking at this for a more budget friendly choice and then I could always upgrade pieces later on?
https://www.amazon.com/CYBERPOWERPC-...ct_top?ie=UTF8
For right now,
I just need something that I can play WoW on, minor video editing, and something my wife can use for teaching (making power point and other **** like that).Bench 315x1 - Squat 415x1 - Deadlift 515x1 Total = 1,245

this building is easy and fun. though its up to you and you can do w/e you want brotato
.
Mining isnt really a factor anymore for gpu prices tbh.
of course the monitor will work but if your getting a decent gaming PC. most would either recommend a 1080p 144hz + or a 1440p 100 hz+ monitor. that pc isnt bad as well but you might be paying a higher percent premium tbh. the gpu and cpu are about $400, mobo should be like 50ish, ram $80-100, drive at most $40. that case is like $25 bucks, i have three of them. so your spending about $200 premium on that pc give or take. of course you have to factor in the 1 year warranty but still.Steam/Origin id: Fivefootkillerz RSN: Hi cookie

Agreed. What I want to see most is benchmarks of games without ray tracing ie most games for the next year or two before RT becomes standard. games that won't take advantage of the turing tech
Hypothetical example:
Cyberpunk 2077 supports RT
1080ti performance: 4k 35fps average
2080ti performance: 4k 80fps average
Anthem doesn't support RT
1080ti performance: 4k 35fps average
2080ti performance: 4k 50fps averageMS, Computer Science
