mirin alpha 2990wx master race
it looks like memory bandwidth is slower in 2990wx compared to 2950x unless you turn off half the cores. 2950x seems like a good choice

If you're a competitive gamer, 60 hz -> 144 hz is like the biggest change. 60 FPS feels like I'm lagging or nonstop stuttering now. Freesync/Gsync is also a welcome addition but not as big as 144 hz.
Ryzen 1700x is solid and streamers use Intel because of sponsors and if not, they go for the best possible PC available. 8700k is the best gaming CPU, but price to performance wise, Ryzen wins.
If you're not happy with your PC performance, you should upgrade your GTX 1060. But honestly it's not a good time right now because they're most likely releasing the GTX 11xx soon (Rumor is 8/20). GTX 1080 has been going on sale for $300-400 because of it

well, its been about 5 years since my last PC update. I put the order in for my new one. I currently have a 1080ti in my rig, hence the 1050ti Im getting it with. Ill hook up my 2x27" 1080p monitors to that and put my 34" on the 1080ti.

Id say the same but I've been running my 1080ti since November seeing how much load the ti is put under. Since I work in multiple 3D programs, some that require GPU power, it does make a difference for me. Especially since the two outside monitors are using GPU for software Im running.
I buy through Xidax though, not that I think anything is wrong with Cyberpower.Carb Mal-absorption, no breads, sugary snacks, rice, pasta...live off of 30-40g a day.

hehe I'm all about the buy and sell
can't make up my mind what I want to do.
34" curved is cool, but I miss the triple 27" setup
definitely need a 50" or 55" to use as a Netflix machine too..
Somehow I'd seen that Mango UHD430 all the time, but never noticed is was 120hz... hmm
not a bad deal, $500 for 43", 4k, 120hz if it's real 120hz. Still watching the video+++ Positive Crew +++

That's what his video says, but idk where he's getting his info.
Here's the exact monitor he's discussing (UHD 430) for $950 shipped:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/WASABI-MANG...AAAOSwi4dawfKx
and here's a very similar model (not sure yet on the differences) (Zen U430) for $480 shipped:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/WASABI-MANG...AAAOSwNnRYmngG
either way, $2,000 - $500 does not equal $950 or $480 lol
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been out of the monitor market for too long. these damn Wasabi Mango's naming every product so similar.
I'll compile a list of differences on the U430 and UHD430 here in a bit
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
UHD430 specs - $980
Screen Size - 42.5-inch
Resolution - 3840x2160 (UHD)
Panel Type - IPS
Aspect Ratio - 16:9 (Widescreen)
Refresh Rate - 120Hz
Response Time - 5ms (GtG)
Speakers - 2x10W
Ports - 2x DisplayPort 1.4, 3x HDMI 2.0
Brightness - 400 cd/m2
Contrast Ratio - 1200:1 (static)
Colors - 1.07 billion (10-bit)
VESA - Yes (200x200mm)
HDR HDR10
- Real 4K UHD
- HDMI 2.0 x 4
- Chroma sub-sampling 4 : 4 : 4 support.
- MHL (Mobile High-definition Link)
- MSTAR One Chip solution
- HDCP 2.2
Item Specification:
1) Model Name : ZEN U430 UHDTV
2) Panel Size : 43" (106 cm) / UHD 953 x 543 mm
3) Viewing Angle : ±178º
4) Back light : IPS LED
5) Resolution : 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz (UHD)
6) Contrast Ratio : 1,200 : 1
7) Dynamic Contrast Ratio (DCR) : 1,000,000 : 1
8) Display Ratio : 16:9 Wide Viewer
9) Brightness : 400cd/㎡
10) Responding Speed : 5ms (GTG)
11) Input : HDMI 2.0 x 4 , RF x 1, USB, D-SUB, AUDIO IN, COMPONENT, OPTICAL, AUDIO OUT
12) Speakers : 10W + 10W (20W)
13) Power Adapter : AC 100V~240V (Free Voltage) 50~60Hz
14) Power Consumption : 60w (Standard)
the UHD430 uses Dport and can hit 120hz realistically (but only 8bit color @ 120hz) while the U430 is just another 43" 4k 60hz monitor.Last edited by PositiveCrew; 08-16-2018 at 02:01 PM.

I'm looking for 2 new monitors for work
Currently i'm rocking a 1080p 21in monitor and a 720p 19in monitor...
Any recommendations for 2 27in 1440p ips monitors? no gsync, no 144hz. just 27in, 1440p, ips. vesa compatible ideally
cheap noname brands are fine since it's not for gaming
or is a 40in cheap 4k monitor a better deal?MS, Computer Science

Depends on your budget.
You can get 27", 1440p, 60hz, IPS panels for around $150 each
You can get 43", 4k, 60hz, IPS panels for around $500 each
Here are some of the Korean 27":
Qnix 2710 - about $160 USD
https://www.ebay.com/itm/QNIX-QX2710...gAAOSw0QVbc0QF
Yamakasi Q270 - $175
https://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAKASI-CA...UAAOSwuExbVfPd
Yamakasi Q270 - $115
https://www.amazon.com/YAMAKASI-CATL...words=yamakasi
--------------------------------------
Between the two options, 2x 27" or 1x 43", I'd go with the 43".
Wasabi Mango U430 - $483 OBO

Now that @FiveFootKillaz has me considering big monitors again...
I pulled my dusty ass Wasabi Mango 40" 4k 60hz monitor out to try some Fortnite and see how I like it after using 34" 1440p 100hz monitors for the last year or so.
