I caved and bought a gtx 1080. After hearing the rumor of gddr memory prices going up 30% and the fact the I'll never get my hands on a vega 56 (what I really wanted) I decided not to wait any longer.
I have a bad feeling cause of miners, supply and demand, and other factors, prices will be way too high. 2017 is the worst year to buy a new gpu.

I used to play Arma a lot, i remember how much just OC'ing helped in that game. Also putting it on SSD helped a lot.
I kind of want to upgrade from my 4670k just so i can get NVMe aswell, DDR4 would be nice too considering faster ram supposedly helps a lot in overwatch, and thats currently my main game.
Do you guys think its worth getting a 7700k at this point or wait for newer CPU's? I dont really stay up to date on this stuff (due to always reading that my 4670k is fine), but from what i understand, Intel should be coming out with bigger performance increases now they actually have some competition in AMD.
7700k upgrade is going to be quite expensive for me, so i wonder if i should wait a while to see what new stuff is released.Hairy chinese kid

Can tell you that SLI is a pain in the ass...
Have 1080ti, smooth as silk without pain in ass. Buy 1080ti, sell 1070s for 350 minimum each, profit?
Need help. I'm looking for a cheap aesthetic table to put a full tower rig on, as well as a mid-tower rig. More specifically, these rigs:
Can't be much more than $150 pls

Same socket will be used, 1151, but they will need a new chipset and therefore a new mobo. Guru3d is pretty reputable.PC Gaming Master Race

Alrighty brethren, I'm in need some some Computer Science education. I got a donated PC from a co-worker (he got a new rig). However the Windows version is not Genuine. And it keeps booting me out of games that I'm playing.
I was hanging out with a couple of guys on Discord and they gave me a link to Windows 10 for free. I tried downloading it but, it won't let me upgrade with the Version of Windows not Genuine.
Any suggestions on how and where to get it corrected beyond purchasing Windows 10?
Thanks.~ ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE ~

Windows isn't free.
Either you obtain a copy where the windows activation service is already pre-deactivated or you can do it with a tool.
You can buy cheaper keys on r/microsoftsoftwareswap or you can buy an OEM key which is cheaper than the "full" version.
Which windows version do you currently have?
(And it isn't computer science per se )

Found this article showing the potential of undervolting Vega 64 and 56. This just made it clear that Vega 56 is the best Vega card so far based on the boost it gained and the mV is saved through undervolting.
Embedding doesn't work at my work at the moment so I can't capture and post pics but here's the link anyway. Just translate it guys.
AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 and Vega 64 in the undervolting test
Edit:
This is kind of an AMD poor design decision actually. Settling for a higher default voltage even if the card is capable of running on lower one. I understand this is due to different required voltage of each chip and they have to set a standard default to make sure every card run stable. But I still believe they could have made the default power requirement lower than advertised.Steam - jinda28

Thinking about making the jump from 60hz to 144hz now
Found a 24" 144hz 1080p for around $180-200, and a 27" 144hz 1080p for $250. Is it worth paying $50-70 more for the 27"? Also heard that you should get 1440p if you're going 27" so can someone clarify this for me?Acne Laser Surgery: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=170189721&page=1&highlight=acne+laser+treatment

Can anyone help recommend a good/compatible mobo/ram combo for a R5 1600 system?
Probably thinking atx/16gb/2666 enough(hear varying things regarding ryzen and ram speed)
Was thinking
ASRock - Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming K4 but do I have to forsure use a RAM on the compatibility list?
http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/Fatal1t...g%20K4/#Memory
Tbh don't really know how to differentiate which mobo to really pick between the brands. I heard Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 is a good one too.Last edited by IceCoal; 08-23-2017 at 05:47 AM.
