Yes and you'd like it. Really easy to get used to.
I like how you placed another monitor above your 21:9. And that your setup is carved out in a corner, instead of placing against a wall. A problem that I'm kind of having right now is that my desk isn't deep enough and my leg space is quite limited because of it.
Also beautiful desk. I'm willing to change my desk up as well soon and go for a deeper one.. I might go with a dinner table*Misc BJJ & Kickboxing crew*

@satra I like what you’ve done m8 I got the same case in black with a 360 rad on the top. Kinda regret not having those fans be LL120s as well. But they were out of stock the day I built and I got impatient lol (tbh I had figured the Corsair “RGB” rad would come with fans with lights lmao -.-). First PC build ever and I got too excited

So glad AMD walked it back. I want that 4950x/4900x 2 or 3 years from now. My B450 is good enough to handle it.
My second monitor is basically a clip board and an information screen. My next monitor upgrade will be a 1440p 27" with a vertical 1080p 24" 60 hz.
I wouldn't mind a 3rd, but it would basically be JUST spotify and chat apps. If I could mount something 8" or so on top of primary it would be perfect.Finance Degree - USAF INTEL - IIFYM - Injured Crew - KTM XCW300 - Single Track Trail Rider - NRA Supporter - Shunned from MFC - Libertarian - Pragmatist

I do like the idea of having a second monitor just for Spotify/Youtube/hardware info... and it would be easier to transform my current 1080P 24" 144hz monitor into a vertical secondary one vs. selling it
I just catch myself mirin ultrawides when I see other people's workstations. I guess it'll depend on whatever sale I stumble on first once I upgrade my GPU to the new RTX series

Mine is the same, I don't like facing the wall either. Ikea Karlby 98 inch countertop sitting on two of their drawer units here. I thought about making it L-shaped it like yours but this is already a huge space for anything I need with enough room on the side to work on laptops etc.

I started really wondering which monitor setup would work nice for work.
I did run 2x24" with a 34" ultrawide previously at work.
Due to desk place restrictions I had to use a 24" 1920x1200 34" 3440x1440 and a XPS 15 4k as my triple monitor setup.
My new setup wont be needing three dedicated monitors (less VMs), but I am wondering whether I should run a 27" 4k 43" 4k 27" 4k (the 27" in portrait) or something else.
Alternatively just one 27" and one 43".
The 27" is the U2720Q.
The illustration image on Dell.com for Dell UltraSharp 43 4K USB-C Monitor: U4320Q is pretty interesting:
Maybe two 38" like one guy previously posted images of.

Literally any Ryzen CPU can handle this. Assuming you're on a tight budget:
https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-3-3...quicklink=true
That with something like an RX580 and you're good to go for gaming at 1080 60 frames. You'd have to make some quality sacrifices in some of the more demanding games though to hit 60 steady.Last edited by R3L3NTL3SS; 05-28-2020 at 07:01 AM.

See my edit for GPU. As for RAM, 16gb is basically the bare minimum these days. It's cheap though. You can get a 3200mhz speed 2X8gb kit for like $60-$70

Z490 mobo finally arrived a week after everything else. Since my windows 10 was upgraded for free from windows 7, and I only have a windows 7 key, I figure I'd just reinstall windows 7 using a new drive on the new mobo but...nope. Asus stopped supporting windows 7 so I was simply unable to click the "next" buttons once the windows installer booted up. Lame. Their bios has a billion settings but they got rid of the win7 compatibility one.
Out of desperation I decided to just see if my windows 10, still installed on its SSD would transfer over to the new hardware. Lo an behold, it seems to work perfectly. Though I can't help but feel somethings going to go wrong.
16 gigs of ram is great, a much more powerful cpu is great, but until I upgrade my graphics card from a gtx 970 (trying to wait for 3000) not much to say about it.
RIP in peace you oversized glorious beast. There's a 360 rad in the top that has been bascally unused for 8 years since the pump broke and I reinstalled the generic 3rd party cpu cooler

Yeah Zalman, forgot the brand until you mentioned it. It's held up well for all the abuse its gone through.
Those classified days were definitely more fun. I had two gtx480s for a short while, back when going 2 way if not 3 way sli was a plausible thing for multi monitor gaming. Everything has gotten a lot more streamlined since so the new build isn't as exciting despite being a huge upgrade.

Im a Ryzen fukboi now, upgraded my 9600k for a 3900x
Waiting on mobo and new ram to arrive
Here's to hoping switching out the mobo is more straight forward than rebuilding from scratch
Im aware of the XT around the corner and the 4000 series but the price was good and should hold me for several yearsTwinkcel fitness log

You guys have any thoughts about how powerful the new RTX series will be?
I've been hearing that the leap from Turing to Ampere will be more significant compared to other gens, but wondering how the price/performance ratio will be like, especially with how much hype the new gen consoles are getting.
-
05-29-2020, 12:47 PM #5034
Supposedly 3000 series is actually going to be cheaper than 2000 was at launch. But I doubt that will be the case for the first few months do to supply issues. So I'd say 2000 series prices it what can be expected. Unless AMD big navi is even close to being on par with 3000 series RTX, don't expect any price breaks for sure.
As for performance increases, everything you read right now is essentially bull****. I don't care about all the rumors of supposed 50+% increases and **** like that... I'll wait to see what real reviewers say and see benchmarks. Frankly, the thought of a card only 1 gen after the 2080Ti being being even 30% faster I find extremely hard to believe, much less 40 and 50% like some rumors are claiming, but we'll see.

Been messing around with the fan curves on my PC. What do you guys generally do? I have the OF-11 dynamic case so there are 9 fans. 6 LL120s and then the 3 that came with the Corsair RGB 360mm AIO. I'm running a 5ghz all core overclock on an I9-9900k for reference. In the iCUE software is there a temp I should be basing the curve around etc. What RPM at what temp etc.
Just curious. Still learning all this PC stuff haha. Surprisingly few hiccups during the build and the first 6 months of use, but I figure I should actually know some stuff about troubleshooting because if things start to go haywire that'll be when I actually have no idea wtf i'm doing.SCC - Redskins - Wizards

For a moment lets assume they are all telling the truth.
The 6900xt or what ever they call it will be about 2x 5700 XT performance based on number of cores plus a minor IPC improvement.
If the 3080 TI isn't 50% better they could very easily lose or have a contested performance crown.
As it is.
I see AMD offering 90% of the performance at 66% ($1200 vs $800) the price on the top end. Not sure what that means for people like you that can afford the premium, but I see 4k @ 60 and 1440 at 120 being brought down to the $500 price point.
Uggg don't do that...
You will end up spending 4x as much then end up with 3 years of amazing performance. 3 years of good performance and 4 years of chit.
You are better off building with CPU upgrades every 5 and GPU upgrades every 3.Last edited by Austanian; 06-01-2020 at 09:51 AM.

been running 2x 2080ti hydro-copper ftw3.
Im thinking to sell one on ebay for real cheap in anticipation of the 3080ti. Right now my monitor can support 4k @ 144hz via display port.
I have a new house though and im setting up a gaming room. Thinking to get the 55" oled CX as im ASSUMING the new gpu + new consoles will support HDMI 2.1.
That would be an amazing monitor/tv combo.
