    Whey + Casein

I've been taking ON Gold Stabdard whey in the morning, and post workout around 430 pm every day for 3 months and I've gotta say, there is a significant gain. However, I want to maximize my growth. Thinking about taking casein at before bed? Can anyone tell me if that's a step in the right direction for maximum growth? Is there more I should be taking?

Protein powder is simply that, protein in a powder form. Lots of people can get enough protein from their diets without the added protein powder. If it helps you hit your protein goal, then sure, add them.

I use casein at night so that i dont wake up hungry. I find if i eat a dmall meal before bed? I wake up starved, sometimes in the middle of the night. Casein helps me with nighttime hunger, and also allows me to prolong my fast in the morning.

Whats most important is to hit your 0.8g/lb of protein per bodyweight and 0.4g/lbs of fat per bodyweight. It you are already hitting that amount of protein, then that extra casein shake will not do much for you in the sense of extra muscle mass.

Don't overthink protein powders. Think of them as just powdered food that makes it convenient to reach total caloric and macro intake

The "gains" were due to your training and total nutritional intake rather than taking a Whey Powder

Just go with a protein blend for anytime of the day once your ON GOLD runs out.

OR just add some milk, pb, fats to slow digestion of whey alone

Don't worry about stuff like casein before bed. Hit your nutrition for the day each day and that will do it.

Do you track your calories and carbs/fat/protein?

if you're gonna supplement protein just to stick with whey or at most a good blend

you can always slow down the digestion rate of the whey prior to bed by adding a fat to it (scoop of peanut butter for example)

Micellar Whey is just marketing hype.

Protein is protein, a good blend may "stick to your ribs" a little better but if you're hitting your macros you won't see increased gains from switching from whey to casein.

The "best way to go to maximize your growth" is getting enough protein throughout the day, regardless of whether that's whey, casein, chicken, or beef, and regardless of what time you use it. Start tracking what you eat.

However, if you want to have a shake before bed to meet your macros, that's fine. Just use what you have now and if you want casein in it, use milk instead of water.

A protein supplement should solely be used to help you reach your protein macros for the day.

The type of protein powder that you choose (blend, whey, iso, etc.) is up to you. One isn't necessarily better than another.

You by no means need to take a casein protein powder before bed. But if that is your preference, than that is fine.

Just ensure that from the time you wake until the time you go to sleep that you are hitting your protein/overall calorie goals. If you consistently do this, you will achieve the results you desire.
