So my gym has weird plates - not exactly hex but not totally round. they have three equally spaced flat edges.. hopefully you guys know what I'm talking about. It makes it really hard to deadlift if you DON'T want to do touch and go. I have tried really hard to deal with this but it throws my form off and i get super frustrated. So i really just want to focus on pulling singles. Just wondering if this is ok - and by "ok" i mean can i still make strength gains doing singles?

Sure. I do a lot of singles work for my deadlift. I get more volume by doing assistance work: SLDL, bent over rows, chinups/lat pulldown.

I used percentages of my 1RM to decide what weight I was lifting. E.g. 6x1x70%, 5x1x75%, 4x1x80% and then when I get back to 6, add 5-10lbs and repeat the cycle again.
