    If you're looking for a 1080p monitor with 144hz and excellent color reproduction then go for MSI optic g27c. Uses the same panel as the CFG70 series, is curved as well, free-sync I believe, but doesn't have an adjustable stand and vesa mount. Cheaper than the 27" samsung option though.

    With a R9 270, I'd go 27" 1440p ->> (Qnix 2710)

    Otherwise, wait until you have a better GPU before buying anything more intensive.

    The worst thing to do would be drop several hundred on a monitor you can't even run.

    Take the time to save up and purchase smart the first time

    1st rule of PC is that nothing is futureproof for 4-6 year unless you have low standards

    If you aim to do that though, you're going to want to save up with a bigger budget because $460 won't come anywhere close lol

    If you're interested in 1440p/144Hz, the Acer XG270HU and Asus MG278Q are both around that price although they are TN panels.

    In regards to future proofing, AMD is working on Freesync 2 which will require new monitors anyways. But I haven't read up on it much so I don't know how much of a difference it'll make.

    Future proof is hard to define.

    Monitor technology is advancing crazy fast. Anything you buy now will look crappy in 6 years time, even if you fork out $1000.

    If you've never seen 1440p or 4k before, that monitor is a helluva deal.

    However, if you have seen 1440p or 4k, you're going to hate that monitor. 27" for 1080p is so awful lol. Super blurry.

    Yes... come and let us make an end of it. It matters not, even cornered, to my last breath... I remain who and what I am. I will not hide, nor tremble, nor beg. Let them come and reckon with fury that is DOOM defiant.
