24386 and 24100 are the numbers to watch for the close this week. Close above and don’t see much more downside close below we’d be looking at 22000

SQQQ for the win.

And we're both from CA.... did we just become best friends?!
I'm at 87k right now, about 3k in auto investing kicking in before my 30th but I have until the end of July. Was at 94k 2 weeks ago so it was doable but fuark lol
And for sure I'm trying to save up enough with my portfolio so I can get a nice rental property or some chit and just have that steady income instead. Probably keep a few thousand to play with but I most just want that extra steady income and nice property or something. Haven't looked too much into it though, just trying to be ghetto rich for now"If in my say 80 years on earth I do more help than damage, then I feel complete."

What is the housing market like in CA? Where im at, youre not investing in real estate right now. Houses are on the market 2-3 days MAX depending on how many offers the seller entertains before taking one, and every house is going for well above asking price.
I dont know what the hell to put my money in, stock market scares me right now so im slowly taking money out (going to leave $10k in some nice-dividend blue chips [F, T, KO, VZ]); real estate is impossible to invest in, etc. I think im just gonna throw it all in my Ally 1.65% savings account and their 1.85% no-penalty CDs until something crashes.

Yeah the housing market is fukd right now. I couldn't afford the place I live at now if I tried to buy it. I mostly figure though I'm saving for 7-10 years down the line when I will have enough for 2 payments should anything go wrong (not to mention down payments). But by then I think the housing market will be reasonable.
Until then I have set amounts coming out of every paycheck so if the market tanks it just means more shares, really doesn't make too much of a difference to me, got steady income. The "fun" investing in meme stocks will suck for sure, but I'm just enjoying it while it last. Meme/fun stocks that I follow daily are just about 20% of my portfolio and that's basically just because it's been growing so much lately."If in my say 80 years on earth I do more help than damage, then I feel complete."

I own 5 houses right now that im SOOOO tempted to sell every single day... Im just going to hold and collect rent tho, with my luck, id sell and neither the housing market or stock market will go down anytime soon.
What is the other 80% of your portfolio made up of? blue chips/index funds/ETFs?
opinion on HDV and VYM? They follow the S&P except they have pretty good dividends. Ive been looking at different S&P index funds, Seems like the higher the Dividend yeild, the less growth they have, but they all decline the same %. So are all index funds basically the same? or is it better to purchase higher-yeild funds on bear markets?

5 houses? Damn, mirin for sure dude that's awesome. Would be tempting but holding and collecting rent is where it's at. That's my opinion at least. More the merrier.
Other 80% is about 30 SP500 index, 30 in dividend indexs and 20 in a Nasdaq index. Nasdaq has been killing it lately so it's probably more like 30/20/30 with those 3 but generally that's the other 80%. A little bit of bonds and a real estate index but its miniscule.
I'm not really one to give any advice, I just figure the dividend funds are a safe bet long term (retirement) and it's good to have a nice mix of the S&P with a dividend focused fund as well. If there was a right answer, everyone would be doing it."If in my say 80 years on earth I do more help than damage, then I feel complete."

Damn I'm getting killed today. My portfolio was a solid 5k higher last week.......
lmao
That's awesome bro, you'll get there. Rental property is the way to do it for sure. Prices in this state are ridiculous. I doubt the real estate market will go down much here. There might be a little correction or crash somewhere down the line....but it will all come back just like the stock market.
Why are you so tempted to sell? You're pretty much at the goal I want to get to one day. Are the tenants a pain in the ass or what?Journal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=139898123&page=240
