Ah I didn't think about that. Motley Fool mentioned them doing another acquisition this morning. It is annoying as a stock holder. I'm not sure if I want to hold them as a short term or long term investment. I see the potential there in the medical marijuana industry though. Any suggestions?

I think we're definitely heading to test 25,000 based on today's close. Should see that number get hit by early next week imo. After that I wouldn't be surprised if we get one final sell-off to penetrate the 21712 lows and freak everybody out into thinking it's a legit bear market. Then comes the wildest swing to the upside where you can turn $1000 into $1,000,000.

I 100% see the potential in the MJ industry, and even with ACB as a company, I just don't like what they've done with their shares at all. I personally sold my shares after they jumped in I think Oct. this year, was looking for a time to get out ever since the medrelief deal. I just don't see them as a good long term investment, short term they may pop and make you a quick couple bucks (they did for me) but I really don't buy any stocks looking for short term opportunities, I just wanted to get out.
Canopy seems to be the next big company next to ACB but they don't fuk over their shareholders (notice the big companies have bought Canopy and Cronos, not ACB). I personally go all out of weed stocks and just bought more tobacco and alcohol stocks, I figure these companies might not make me rich like picking out the 1-2 MJ companies who make it big and may or may not even be in existence now, but the tobacco and alcohol stocks will have the money and setup to get in on the winners down the line. Most of them have also taken a beaten recently, and also have a nice dividend. These have been my long term picks for the MJ sector where I can just buy or set (in M1) and forget."If in my say 80 years on earth I do more help than damage, then I feel complete."

Long here on all my weed stocks at the moment. Played Canopy last year for a nice 100+% gain. Damn shame some of us missed out on it again two weeks ago, way too easy of a play. Same with CVX
NFLX will go right back up from this very minor dip. Wait till they grow their profits even more from the increased sub prices. Wait till they get into China?? NFLX is a buy and hold fasho
Media starting to pimp the markets again also
Its been another near rally already...very curious now to see if things can hold and continue
Props to all the good calls you've made bro, you have some great instinctsJournal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=139898123&page=240

Bought SPY and GS puts at the open. Sold my FB calls for a 10% profit. I just realized Monday the markets are closed so that's why I bought my puts now.

In.
Gotta get back to watching the markets. Been putting my money in real estate but feel like there'll be a nice opportunity to make some money before the inevitable correction.
Also my first time posting on Misc in 4 years. Feels good manstuck in the ruby classic era

You guys do know that you can use option chains and volatility to get a pretty good idea how far the market will move in a certain amount of time.
It is all just based on math.... and works out to be correct over time.
Yet people are always making ridiculous predictions that have a <5% chance of actually happening.

Soup bros, lost all my money so picked up buying storage units and flipping on eBay again. Much less stressful and fun although requires a lot more physical labor. Hope all is well and y’all are stacking them dollars.
“The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent.”
Can confirm this old saying is very true.

Nope, but I bet they have a much better track record than you or anyone else on this forum.... or any analyst.
A standard deviation should encompass around 68% of moves, 2 standard deviations 95%, 3 almost 100%.
And the numbers actually workout to be higher percentages then that.
Literally every time you post a prediction it is like 3 standard deviations away... so of course you are going to be wrong 99% of the time.
It is literally math. I look at the options chains for your predictions and they are always <5% chance of happening. Who cares if you end up being right 1 out of 99 predictions.
Every big bank predicted upside moves outside the standard deviation for 2018....
And every one of them were wrong. And it ended up right inside the standard deviation lol.
I am just saying, if you think the market will go up or down.... you would be better off picking numbers inside the standard deviation. You could be right on direction... but it is very unlikely your targets will be hit in the time frames you are posting.Last edited by romajc; 01-22-2019 at 05:05 AM.
