I'm losing weight on 2200 calories a day but I'm obviously feeling hungry a lot, which is normal. What I'm wondering is once I get to a lean weight, say 12% body fat, and up my calories to maintenance so I stay lean will the hunger subside, or does being lean mean feeling hungry all the time even at maintenance calorie intake?

You do get more used to it, but the leaner you get obviously your body is not really meant for it, the body is built to survive and being lean isn't exactly optimal for that.
But you can go for more volumous, low calorie food; 1 pound bag of frozen veggies is usually 100-150 calories, stir fry it and use some G Hughs sugar free sauce and for maybe 200 calories you have a large meal. Also egg whites, a whole carton is 500 calories and makes a lot of food, chicken breast is also very low calorie. You can also look into making spaghetti squash instead of regular pasta as an example, not as good IMO but very filling.Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
