I’m 6’4 200lbs what bf do y’all think I am based on avi which is from today Im flexing chest relaxing everything else. Also how much do I need to go down to get cut and have visible abs assuming I have good muscular tone under the flab. Handheld bf tester at gym says 12.3% but I’m pretty sure it’s way higher than that right?

Everyones different dude, based on mass and genetics obviously, you can be 8% body fat and not have good abs, and someone can have 18% body fat and have abs. Just depends on the amount of lean mass you got. Judging by your picture I would guess around 14-17 percent~

5'6" male here. I began weight lifting around 3-4 months ago and went from 133 to 145lbs the first 2 months. Past couple of weeks I decided to lower my calories a bit and Im now at 138lbs, wondering if i should cut or do a really clean bulk.

    6'4" 203 Pounds BFP???

6'4", 203 Pounds. Picked up weight lifting about 1 year ago. Got a hand injury and stopped lifting the month of December. Also ate like crap in December. Starting lifting again January 1st and also started cutting to get the December bloat off. What is my body fat percentage at right now? Being a tall dude, I sometimes find it hard to estimate. Been getting anywhere from 12% to 16% using online sources. I want to hit 10% before I start a clean bulk again.

    Measurements:
    Age: 39
    Height 6'4"
    Weight: 203
    Waist: 33.5"
    Chest: 43"
    Arm: 15.5"
    Thighs: 24.5"
    Calf: 16.5"

Guys im a complete newbie. Im from Sri Lanka (island below India). Im skinny fat (its fukcing depressing). I started to bulk. My height is 5 ft 9 in and weight is 166lbs. I ve been cutting in a wrong way for so long. Eating so less calories. Now i have no strength tbh. SO i started to bulk. Is that a good idea. I have indian genetics. So bad. Wide hips. But i have wide shoulders as well. I hve lots of juggling fat on my hips. But in my upper body its pretty okay.
What should i do. ? Bulk ? Or cut. ? Whats my bf percentage ?

Bodyfat % and should I cut or bulk?

Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is doing well. I’m in need of some advice. I’m currently 152 lbs and I’m 5’9. I’m not sure of my body fat percentage, but the pic below was taken on Monday evening. I’m very much a beginner and haven’t done much strength training. I’m in week 3 of a program and am doing a 5 day split. I’m currently in a cut, my nutrition breakdown is 1,875 calories, 188 grams of protein, 188 grams of carbs, and 42 grams of fat.

Ultimately I would like to get my body fat percentage under 10% and put on some muscle as I know I have virtually none. I'm having a hard time figuring out my current body fat percentage. I’ve had a DEXA scan, used the handheld monitors, and my scale to help determine the percentage. I think they are all inaccurate.

I have no issue with cutting and am pretty diligent with staying within my calorie range; however, I do tend to go over on carbs and be under on fat. My main concern about cutting is losing more body weight and looking sickly. I am working with an coach and he says to keep cutting until I reach 10% body fat. Once I reach that, then to start bulking and put on more muscle mass. I have seriously gone back and forth on this and questioning if I should continue to cut or not. Other than my concern about body weight, I have no problem with cutting.

My questions to you all are:

    1. What would you guesstimate my body fat percentage to be?

One thing to note, I spent the majority of my youth and early 20’s overweight. My highest was over 300 lbs. I lost a lot of weight quickly, about 100 lbs in six months. Looking back on it, it was not done the best way, but I can’t go back and undo it. This has left a lot of loose skin, namely in my upper thighs, which you can’t really see here. I had the skin around my stomach removed. It’s my thought that this extra skin could partly be reason why I’m having a difficult time getting an accurate BF % reading. I also know that I hold a lot of the fat in my love handles/lower back, which isn’t visible.

    2. Should I continue to cut? If so, are my macros on point or should they be adjusted?

    3. Anyone else in the same boat in regards to concerned about body weight being/getting too low?

    Thank you for the help!

12% would be my guess. You could get away with 10% although not essential as you already look lean well done.

18-19%. You could do either just following a good weight training program. If you don't mind the extra bit of fat bulk slowly, if concerned about the amount of fat cut down to 150lbs and review.

    Will rep all estimates.
15% or greater. The way your body carries fat is ideal though. Very evenly distributed and not packed over your abs

You're probably sitting over 20% BF right now. You're what most people on here would call "skinny fat". Don't be discouraged by that as it doesn't mean much, other than your body tends to carry more fat over your abs rather than evenly distributed. Lift heavy and bulk for 6-12 months, eat big, and gain 15lbs of muscle. Dont worry about fat gains. Then you cut. If you cut now, you wont look all that much better, just skinnier. Diet Diet Diet. Know you calories in and calories out and hit that protein goal (minimum 1.5g/lb). Good luck!

Hi. I do some boxing. I mostly workout with my body mass, but recently I've also been using dumbbells.

I'm 5'11, 25 y.o. Guess I'm ~167 pounds now but it's been long since I've checked my weight. What do you think my BF% is?

    imgur.com/a/9Zxw5bn

I'm trying to find my optimal weight to be as strong and as fast as possible. For last few years I think I was close to ~25% BF. Now it's a lot better but I guess I'm still gonna cut a little bit.

Bodybuilding is much more than an hour in the gym a few days a week---it's a lifestyle that changes all your perceptions about how to live, eat, and rest. It feeds the mind as much (and sometimes more so) than the body.

Yes stronglifts is a perfectly fine program I ran it during my last cut and was pretty good. Just pick either lean bulking or cutting and follow the program. I would advise if you choice to bulk to add some accessory work in to help with stronglifts program as it does lack some muscle groups being worked (bicep, tricep, ab, lateral raises, facepulls, pull ups etc)

I'm trying to find my optimal weight to be as strong and as fast as possible. For last few years I think I was close to ~25% BF. Now it's a lot better but I guess I'm still gonna cut a little bit.
Sitting isn't the best way to show off your physique I am afraid although you do look rather lean and built. So my guess would be around 16%.

    Male 21, 183cm, 85kg

I've been doing pplx2 for 3 weeks and I've started to think about nutrition and to consider cutting/bulking.

I'm not sure what my body fat percentage is and whether I should cut or bulk.
