I'm 6'1 , atm 206 lbs and I'm trying to build some muscle so I'm eating a little bit over maintenance. Atm I've gained about 4lbs in 1 month or so ( which might be slightly too much )
I see myself with little muscle mass but I'm over 200 lbs . Is that fat ? What would you say is my percentage ? Thanks

Hard to say, numbers are just numbers. But in general it's hard to mess up too much at half that rate.
Mass gaining has a lot to do with a long period of productive training. If you diet early because you fulked it tends to undercut some potential progress.
Others are so timid the spend time with perhaps less supportive nutritional environment. The most important aspect of weight training; whether for the athlete, bodybuilder, or average person is to better ones health and ability without injury. - Bill Pearl

Gaining too fast (4lbs/month) leads to a shorter bulk period with less muscle gains and more fat, as in, you need to start cutting earlier...
Compared to a slower gain rate of 1-2lbs/month that gives a lengthier bulk with more muscle gains and less fat, postponing the need to cut.Last edited by Tucane; 04-09-2017 at 01:51 PM.

Body fat estimate
I am new here so don't really know how things work but the pics are in my profile
For background,
I am a mixed martial artist, a wrestler, a long distance runner, and a soccer player (amatuer of course). Never taken a protein shake or a supplement in my life. I Keep my training very tough, do hit 3-4 times a week( 20 minute sessions, 30 sec Sprint, 30 sec rest/walk) and run 3-5 miles a day and I do that along with my MMA training. All these body fat websites say I am a 7% but we all know these websites are very inaccurate.
Thank you guys

What's my bodyfat?
Please help! I'm in a cutting phase, and would like to get down to 10% bodyfat before starting a clean bulk. Unfortunately I'm not quite sure what my bodyfat really is. I know bod pod and dexa scans are the only true accurate methods, but I don't have access to any of those. I've used several different formulas and they are all quite different.
I'm 30 years old, 179 pounds and 6'1. According to the navy method(33.8") waist at navel) im 16.26%. Bodyfat scale 1 im 23% handheld scale in 13% calipers (jp3) im 10.26%. What do you guys visually estimate me to be? I do not have any viable abs at this point. Originally I was 205 and an estimated 24%.
Not enough post for pics. See profile pic
