**** this is what it's about..........
I went off trance when the aforementioned artists all completely abandoned their roots around 2012. Recently got back into it. Listening to the old MS54 and Supertab podcasts (all episodes <100)- they seem to have gone to **** but glad to see SolarStone is still keeping a level head, releasing good tracks and making decent, contemporary podcasts with a good mix of prog and trance (both new and old).

Trance is not dying, if anything it's making a comeback right now and has returned to its roots away from the progressive sound. Just look at Dreamstate and Transmission. The scene changes and artists follow the mainstream for the money but the real producers are still there. Then you have the subgenres that fluctuate in and out all the time like psy right now that's getting a lot of attention. Trance is in a great place right now to be honest. It's out of the brightest spotlight which means it's really able to shine and do it's own thing.
If any genre is in trouble right now it's big room. So over-produced and dead at this point. Now there's combinations of future bass, trap, and electro taking over the mainstream.
Hardstyle has lost lost its sound somewhat over the past few years imo. You still have Q-Dance around which is great and will keep the genre alive until it has its own renaissance like trance is having. Frenchcore and Uptempo Hardcore are doing well right now in the gabber scene.
I think others already mentioned these but Melbourne bounce with guys like Timmy Trumpet and Will Sparks is another one to watch and they've been incorporating psy stuff recently. I don't really know as much about the techno scene but Minimal techno is doing well right now too and I foresee it getting more popular.
Anyway I got off-topic a little bit but the point is all these genres go through cycles and trance is definitely not dead.★★★ Trance Crew ★★★

Went to Ultra in Miami last week, mainly House, Electro House, Big Room House, etc but it was still lit as fuk considering it was my first time at an EDM concert in a loong time. Felt like an aesthetic god there, girls where all over me, felt like Zyzz tbh. Fukking feels brahs.
