So after getting rid of Ivanko SS power bar i was without 29 mm power bar . This showed up at 1/5 th of the cost of Ivanko SS power bar . Always wanted AB Elite PB in the absence of old SPB. Timing couldn't been better as i am getting back regular work out schedule ( Keeping fingers crossed ) Almost pulled the trigger on a new one couple of times.

It is in excellent condition for a bar that is 4 to 5 years old based on the end cap. The current end caps are in RED.

This I could not resist . Seller was trying to sell bunch of bars . But this caught my eye. Old times might remember AB bought GP industries . This is GP all SS 5 ft + 29 mm bar. Weight 30 lbs . Shaft length is 36". Feels really nice especially for curls :-) . Price was excellent too.

Might have buy nice squat stands to use this bar :-)

Not worth posting a pic but I did pick up some ten 10 lb flat dumbbell plates for 75 cents a pound. I'm slowly rebuilding a set of pro style dumbbells. I sold my old pros last year at a ridiculous price

Nice! I'm going thru this right now with my gym, slowly adding back things I sold during the pandemic for profit. Still waiting on the Titan Belt squat to come back in stock, I couldn't resist the chance to upgrade to the V2 while selling the V1 for full MSRP plus a little extra.

What handles are you using for pro sytle DBs? I have access to a pile of standard plates for free, and have been noodling on building a set. (that I don't have room for )

I tried to embrace minimalism when COVID came, and ended up with more (and better) equipment than I started with. Didn't pay COVID pricing for anything, at least.

Curious about used pricing these days. I haven't bought anything used since prior to Covid. What's the going price for average olympic plates? I assume the stupidity of $2/lb is long gone?

I think mine may be about 4-5 years old and the end caps were red so it may be even older. Doesn't really matter though, awesome bar and mine still looks like new with use ~4 times a week, no maintenance and a fair amount of abuse

    Great bar

It's gotten back to $1 pound or less around here. Anything higher sits. PIAS is full of $2/pound new made in USA grip plates that no one is buying, whereas in March/April he was selling them at that price faster than he could get them. Now it seems like even the 50-75 cents stuff is not going very fast, so I'd say we're real close to being back to normal.

I thought that may be the case since the dicks near me always have a ton of their crappy 300 lb sets. Locally seems many are still asking dumb prices but their stuff has been sitting forever

    Great bar
Yep end cap really does not matter. Really great bar though. The feel and everything . I would say since i don't need aggressive knurling this is better than OBXS-29 which was all SS. I cannot complain given the price i paid and the condition it is in.

That 5' GPI bar though is really sweet.

As per adding equipment to home gym, yes, it is really tempting. Lot of good stuff is popping up at very fair price point and in some cases better than pre covid pricing.

I was in Dicks the other day and they had good stock of the Fitness Gear grip plates, which aren't terrible. The diameter on the 45s is small and the grip is on the slick side but I weighed a bunch of 45s and they are accurate. Price was $60+ for 45 lb which is a lot higher than they used to be but not unreasonable for new IMO.

$1.25/lb in my area. $1/lb they will fly. Standards are going for $0.90-1/lb. Hex dumbbells selling at $1.50, but sitting a bit; $1.25/lb is the norm. $1/lb they will fly.

My main gripe with those Fitness Gear plates is that they crack very, very easily. If deadlifting with them, you have to put them down pretty gingerly.

They won't help complete my roundhead collection, but they will fill in for the heavier weights until I find some. Wasn't going to say no for under 30 cents a pound, either.

Ordered an AB T-Grip with non rotating sleeves.. American Barbell emailed me that the bar had some minor finish issues and I could cancel the order or take 20% off so I took the 20% discount. Hopefully it’s not too bad. I’ll find out Tuesday when it gets here.

Nice, they did the same thing with my revolving curl bar recently. Sent them pictures because it was CLEARLY a used item and they gave me a refund of 20% off the purchase price. Little irritated that they sent it in the first place, but I think it was just a glitch on their site that it was back in stock, so they shipped a floor item or something.

The pics they sent me looked like overspray on the powder coating so I’m hoping knurling isn’t too badly affected

New Edge Fitness slim football bar came in today. Took about 2 months from order to receive it.
Love the size of the bar. Not bulky and the handle area is minimal, not alot of room for extra movement when pressing. I like that.
No knurling on the handles but the whole bar has a nice texture coating on it that does help with gripping. Definitely happy with the purchase.

I have the same and really like it. After 4-5 years no problem. The only thing that bothers me (and I assume this applies to all bars with grip this size) is that anything over 270 or so hurts my hands while benching. Perhaps it's on me based on how I'm holding the bar but over that I have to go back to a straight bar

I sometimes use some cheap rubber grip pads between my hands and the bar. Helps absorb some of the load and makes it a bit easier on the hands.

Received my AB T-Grip. Well packaged with no shipping damage . Looks like some overspray on the powder coat but AB sent me pics before shipping and took 20% off . Well worth $200 shipped. Love having the knurled grips. Maybe my new favorite bar. Toyed with it a bit and it’s a keeper.Mainly got it for overhead presses and it works great for that.Grip angle is different than my Black Widow football bar and it feels a little better but knurled grips really sets it apart.

Nice! I would love to try one of those bars. What do you do with the 3rd bar down on your rack?

congrats- nice looking bar, the handles seem to angle in a bit more than the edge bar. The knurling is a nice feature.

I have one of those AB T-Grip bars as well and like it quite a bit. It takes some getting used to and hits your stabilizers differently but has a nice feel to it for pressing movements.
