My one experience with Vulcan. Wanted to get an out of stock item. Sent an e-mail to see if they knew it would be in stock (was going to be a Bday gift for my son).

They never replied back but added me to their e-mail distribution list. When the item finally came back in stock the price, just coincidentally doubled.

Ultimately, I did file a dispute and the bank found in my favor in less than 48 hours, which means Vulcan has demonstrated a pattern of behavior that is not in accordance with their merchant agreement. I still tell people their bars are pretty nice for the money, but I always caution them that if there's a problem it's unlikely to be resolved without a fight.

Imo, this is the kind of stuff that needs to be posted every time someone asks about a Vulcan product. This also one of the reasons I like to buy locally whenever possible. If I have a problem, I can deal with it in person. Company reps/employees rarely display the same attitude and BS in person that they dispense via email or on the phone.

I bought the full priced ez curl bar(not the discounted blemish bar) and it arrived with what looks like spray paint on the inner part of the sleeve collar - on one side only. Haven't tried removing it yet since I really don't care.. just something they should have caught in QC. Love the bar though. I use it at least 2-3 times a week. The sleeves do have some lateral play though and has removed some oxide coating on the shaft.

Only complaint I have with customer service is that I emailed about the closeout power bar and asked if it was a V2... They said they think it is but didn't confirm so they lost that sale.

Replaced the old Powertec this weekend, with a Body-Solid leverage gym that I found locally. Came with about 345lbs of BS plates, and the typical BS bench. The machine is practically brand new, maybe used a handful of times from the look of it. So far compared to the Powertec I'm pleasantly surprised at how much better this one performs. The top pulley system allows for a full stretch and the longer leverage arm and lower flat plate make it compatible with any adjustable bench. After selling off the old machine and weights I broke even, once the bench sells I'll be +$100 and a free machine. Not bad for a couple hours of work

Also, those BS rubber coated weights were fantastic. Was tempted to keep them but I promised the wife a zero dollar transaction so I kept my word. But man I almost liked those better than my REP plates and my son tried to talk me into a total swap out. Probably for the best that I got them out of the house quickly! Haha

    Nice!
About the plates, I did the total swap out, but with the colored plates. Some of the easiest to handle and nicest plates I have ever used. The inner metal sleeve fits perfect on bars. My wife squawked at first, but after using them, likes them too.

No bearings, smooth pin through a fixed bushing welded into the machine. The weights were nice though, only thing that would have annoyed me is that they didn't push together flush. But I 100% agree, easy to handle and the grip felt like it was made for my hand. Total swap out would have cost me a good bit so it's probably for the best.

I have both Ivanco rubber coated Revolver plates and those same Body Solid plates. The Revolvers look cooler, but the BS are slightly easier to handle when loading. I use them both.

Picked up a knockoff of the Hampton trap bar for $80. Like the one seen here: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showt...4913711&page=1

I also upgraded the crappy bluetooth PA speaker with a Yamaha DBR 12" speaker that I got for $260.

Picked up a titan t3 squat rack Sunday afternoon off of craigslist. 200 bucks, was an hour and half away. I am doing a video of it for my yotube channel. came with the safety spotters and pullup bar. I'll post a pic later, but at this time of night I am not crawling down in the basement.

After a couple sessions, I also didn't realize that the rear swing arm for the cable pulley is longer too. That's probably another reason why you're able to get a full ROM on the pulldown vs the older Powertec having to lean back. Very pleased with the swap, almost to the point where now I'm wondering if I really need the Cybex bench anymore. The old Cybex worked great with that center bar that got in the way, but now that's a non-issue. The IM Pro outclasses it in about every way, except for quality/thickness of the steel. Hmmmn....

Wait, which Cybex bench are you thinking about getting rid of? Surely not the 5435.

You must have missed the keyword in that quote, 'LIKELY'. Haha. Haven't sold anything yet, but now that it doesn't serve a very specific purpose it's not off the table. Probably a tough sell though, for what I would want out of it you would be pretty close to getting a new REP bench.

Ha, isn't "likely" just urbanlifter for "I've already got a potential buyer"?

The suck part about commercial benches is that outside of a few weirdos like the people on this forum, most people aren't willing to pay for them. And I don't blame them, when you can get a very nice adjustable bench for like $250 shipped to your door.

Sub-$300 they sell pretty quickly here. Beyond that you're probably going to be sitting on it for quite awhile.

Yes, it got sold off when I bought the Cybex. Outstanding bench, sad that it doesn't get the recognition it deserves next to the likes of the REP bench and it's clone the Legend 3103. The IM padding sorta reminds me of the CAP+ padding though, maybe that's part of the reason why I like it so much.

That's the main issue, outside of the lunatics here it would be very hard sell, haha. But I'm not seriously considering it, haven't listed anything yet, and for now I'm happy to own two quality benches.

Pulled the trigger on some eBay P90X Powerstands I posted about in another thread, WAAAY overpaid but they were supposedly brand new in the box from BeachBody. Have a pair already but wanted another set for my son/wife. Handles looked fantastic, still in the original packaging, but one of them was bent pretty badly. Nothing a few perfectly placed taps from a rubber mallet couldn't fix, still the GOAT for pushups!

How is this better than a hex dumbbell or Ironmaster/Powerblocks? Do the handles rotate?

The bases are incredibly wide, to the point where you could almost where them as a hat which makes them very stable. The handles have a thick grip covered in a dense foam, slightly angled downward which feels like a more natural position for your wrists. Also, solid steel construction vs some of the cheaper ones with a plastic base.

Haven't really shopped around for them lately, but it doesn't appear that anyone has adopted the angled handle. Appears to be some out there with a thicker grip that I'm sure are stable, it's just a premium option that didn't catch on I guess. eBay is the only place I have seen them, mine shipped from a guy in CA.

FrankenRack got a little Titaned with bolt-on monolifts. Next to Mech's monos these feel like an '88 Chevy Celebrity next to a Tesla, but they do what they're supposed to.

Also picked up their Swiss bar and pulley tower a while ago. I like them both quite a bit. The Swiss bar is the nicest bar I've seen from Titan, far more polished than the mulitgrip bar I had from Titan.
