Yup, I think they use them on snowboard bindings as well. Slide it through as tight as possible then ratchet it exactly where you want it.
I'm quite content with my Spud belts though, I don't really see a reason to go out and get leather otherwise I would probably give it go.
In other news - I did grab a Grind Fitness rackable (ugh) trap bar next week; this one, there are apparently two grind fitnesses:
https://www.grindequipment.com/produ...sive-trap-bar/
It is supposedly a clone of the Rogue TB-2. Been seeing them pop up new on FB Marketplace - this one was used. $200 ($325 new with $180 shipping) so I grabbed it since my comp in Feb has a basket deadlift with neutral handles (ps basket deads with a straight bar really suck) and training for that starts in Nov. Haven't really went over it too much and the only trap bar I can remember using is a cheapo from Cap (and that was only for frame carries) so I don't have much to go off of but from what I have seen, I will definitely put Grind in the rotation of manufacturers to consider.
Ah this is funny. I originally looked at Rogue's TB-1 and the shipping was $165 to me which I thought was absurd. But the TB-2 is only $75 in shipping to me, so both bars considered the Grind would be more expensive to ship to me than the Rogue. Oh well, still saved $270 and gave me an excuse to have dinner in the city with the gf when we went to pick it up.

Yea people say the same thing about the belts with the actual ratchet straps on them, there was video a few years ago of a kid getting stuck in an Inzer and the fire department cutting the belt off (not sure why they didn't cut the strap on the ratchet. These are really simple mechanisms and I wouldn't be worried about the plastic getting stuck wouldn't be hard to pry the release to open nor to cut the plastic binding if you really needed to.
In fact, it would probably be a lot easier to get someone out of one of these that is too tight than a traditional buckle (though it would be more difficult to get too tight in a regular buckle)Boomer Rep Crew #1

Let the drilling begin! Rogue Mono's arrived today, they look really nice and they should be easier to make quick adjustments. The swing arm with the stop bolt in doesn't appear to be an improvement over the old, it's about a 3 & 1/2" drop back from where the bar sits to the front of the lip when racked. Without the bolt it will get a little better I'd hope. We'll see, have work to do
Edit: Holy crap, two seconds playing around with making adjustments and almost broke my damn finger LOL. Tried a one hand adjustment and got the tip of my finger stuck down in this bottom corner when it tipped forward! Won't do that again...
Missed opportunity for Rogue here to do something cool, why not drill a second set of holes and have 1" adjustments?

Got a Rogue Boneyard rackable curl bar earlier in the week. Didn't show up in amazing shape, so Rogue gave me $30 off. Was about $170 to my door. The boneyard condition appears to be some issues with one of the sleeves, and the ecoat has something in it, off of the knurl. UPS managed to dent up/scratch the ends, and dent one sleeve slightly.

Powertec Levergym Squat: I've only used it once- but so far I like it. very smooth, stable machine. Build quality is good, fairly easy assembly, just have to pay attention to a few minor details. I think it will be a good addition to my leg workouts, especially on the days when the shoulder is acting up and bar squats are no-go that day. Looking forward to using this piece for sure.
Good review on this piece:

Congrats on the new piece, those leverage squats add a good variety of leg movements in a small space and tame the boredom of finding movements to do on leg day and they could even be used for viking presses too.
Curious to hear how they feel doing lunges on it when you get to it.
Edit: Just seen the youtube link and noticed the viking press along with the variety of exercises were covered in that vid...very nice piece, I'm contemplating getting this at some point, or the Kabuki Transformer Bar for leg variety.Last edited by Deep-Voiced-One; 12-11-2021 at 01:31 PM.

yeah its nice to have a bit variety on workouts sometime. With this new piece I should be all set in the leg department. Kinda wish I bought one years ago, oh well, we all go through equipment changes over and over it seems. I definitely feel it today- legs are sore for sure. Always over do it when I get a new piece

sure thing. Just to point out I did buy this basically for just the squat exercise. I already have a standing calf machine which I really like. I did test it out for calf raises- it works fine enough, easy to get into position, the foot plate is straight- I prefer a slight angle, but thats just what I've been used too all these years. But that shouldn't stop you from getting a good calf workout. I'll be using it again in a few days for an update
again this review is pretty good on the piece, covers alot
