BTW I just got together with Mech in Montreal this last week. If you were considering the foot plate attachment for this he has a few adapter plates left same as the ones he made for me. You may not know but this design isn't really compatible with the footplate despite Rogue insisting it is (if you are 5'3"maybe). Needs another hinge joint. This will give you a good variant as well as a nice full posterior leg curl option.

Bars look sweet. I have a 10lbs aluminum and 5lbs tech plates for my kids too!
I hadn't considered the footplate, but will keep that one in mind if we decide to get one. Thanks

great! I wanted to add this machine to my setup but could not find any local in Canada and shipping from the US was crazy. How do you like it? Looks more versatile than the hammer. I think it is a really good equipment for a home gym as you can use it for so many different exercises.

I'm not sure that I understand the benefits of those trap/shrug/deadlift pieces......what do they offer above/beyond just using a bar? Is this really more of a bodybuilding piece, or will this improve your deadlift numbers somehow? I'm not knocking it, I'm just curious.

I liked the Hammer version, but love the Legend one. Hammer has two similar pieces - the Ground Base Squat Lunge and the Ground Base Squat High Pull. The former is non-unilateral, has a bar for the back leg for lunges and split squats and has two grip options. That is the one I have. The latter is unilateral, no back leg support and has a single grip option. Both have their limitations.

The Legend is basically combining the best of both of those (two grips, unilateral, back leg support) - plus way more adjustable (adjustable grip pitch, adjustable grip height, adjustable back leg support, etc) and has much longer arms so you can do landmine-esque stuff, etc.

If I didn't find the Legend, I'd be keeping my Hammer...it's still really versatile for leg movements like trap bar deads, RDLs, lunges, shrugs, etc.

I love it so far. I found myself trying it out on back day too - you can do meadows rows, one-arm rows, bent-over rows, etc. And then I used it a ton on one of my leg days - trap bar deadlifts, lunges, RDLs, etc.

With home gyms, there's always a limitation on space - and I feel this is just so versatile. I'm usually not this excited when I get equipment - but I'm pretty stoked about this pick-up.

    This vid sold me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8joxGCfIWM

The sheer number of exercises is crazy. It's almost like a double landmine when you think about it as you can do landmine-esque shoulder/push presses. For back, you can do one-arm, bent over and Meadows rows. For traps, shrugs, high pulls. For legs, lunges, reverse lunges, bulgarian split squats, RDLs, trap bar deads/squats, etc. For chest, neutral grip floor presses. They show tricep dips, but that looks a little wacky.

That's an awesome piece, from the video it looks like it would be extremely superior for lunges. Are those the Troy GO plates re-painted black? They look great! Better than the hammertone color that comes standard on them (I've always preferred classic black for plates).

Man your gym is just ridiculous. Back in the day I belonged to half dozen or so commercial gyms before going home gym, none of them were nice as yours.

Yes, they are Troy GO painted black. I'm up to about 3300lbs of them - all that way (two coats flat black painter's touch and metallic silver letters/numbers with a foam brush). My first batch of 1500lbs looked like half of them were sitting in salt water, so they needed some kind of refurb. I prefer black plates too, black cans are cheaper, the hammertone cans suck for spraying, etc. Then when I got more, there was no turning back...had to paint them all!

Thanks! Tried to model it after a commercial gym with pro-styles, cable crossover, hammer strength stuff, etc.

Do you see any way I can do pseudo-belt squats on it? Like if I put a strap across the two handles and hooked into the strap? I guess the strap would be in the way.
Might have to give this some thought.

Straddle the strap? Can't you just hook into one side, or not enough capacity?

Might have to give this some thought.
It looks a lot like the Edge leverage belt squat so I was thinking the same thing...that said I don't see a way to easily do it. Note that I'm not mechanically creative either.

This. Get 2 boxes (one for each foot) and stand on them. I'm betting you could use something as simple as a dip belt to accomplish the movement nicely.

I'm digging that piece. Going to have to look for one now.

The bottom skids are metal but I have enough stall mat scraps lying around I think I'll just cut and Gorilla glue some rubber squares to make them concrete friendly.

Ive got the AD8 and it's brilliant. So much smoother than the old models. I too had the old AD2 and the fan on the 8 is so much bigger quieter and smoother. Two things if I was being picky. My seat post stem feels a little creaky when you really do all out sprints on it and the fan generates so much cold air that in winter it's very cold. I'm ordering a deflector for mine.
One of the easiest workouts on it for me is simply pressing calories button and selecting 200 and trying for 10 mins. Tough fast and over and done with quick
