Excited to find never worn new old stock of Safe SST powerlifting shoes. From what I have read they fit really tight especially in the toe box. They are size 11 a full size up from what I normally wear for weightlifting shoes so didn't know what to expect. They fit perfectly. Toe box is snug like my AdiPowers at a size 10 but not crazy tight.

Then you have not seen then the Inzer power moon boot or the Crane divers boots.

Don't know yet about how they feel squatting. Malan and that Calgary Barbell guy are a couple examples I can think off off the top of my head you can see them in action. I'll squat with them tomorrow night. Anyone ever that Ive seen own them love them. And they last forever. Many say they are about 1/4" - 1/2" effective heel.

I picked up a couple of these bars today. Does anyone know what kind of bar this is? First thought that went into my head was a GPI, because of the Tig Welded Sleeve (Non recessed) and the person I bought the bars from bought out a gym that contained a good amount of GPI plates and dumbbells. I would like to keep 1 of them as I like the knurling on it, reminds me of the knurling on my Iron Grip.

Yep, thats a GPI. As for it feeling like the Iron Grip, they used to make them, so that makes sense.

I'm still not seeing ugly especially vs the Inzer and Crane power boots. I think they look better then my Sabo goodlifts which are my current go to for all my lifts right now. I love my Adipowers as far as quality goes but the 3/4" heels aren't optimal for me right now. Will find out how the lower heel of the Safe/Titan power shoes. One thing I would like better on the goodlifts is a flatter outsole. If the Safes work for me I'll still use the goodlifts for bench and deadlifts.

That's funny, I was just asking about Safe shoes the other day when a "Safe" branded rack and bench were bought and posted here. The current low-top Titan version of this shoe is very sturdy and feels like it could last forever. They didn't feel very pliable though, so I was worried they wouldn't stretch to match my foot shape. Your Safe shoes look like they've been worn in a bit so maybe that's not a concern.

If you got the low top version (olympian or safe called them pro) it uses full grain leather which will be stiffer and longer to break in but they will. The contender or standard sst only comes in black and high top which uses a softer split or top grain.

Both versions will last a very long time. Rip showed off his pair of black safe sst shoes in a recent video for some how to be manly series. They were well over a decade if not two old.

Titan versions are supposed to have a bigger toe box and stiffer heel cup.

Great information here. They're pricey but I bet they'd outlast the current crop of weightlifting shoes on the market.

best thing to add to lifting shoes:
    https://www.amazon.com/Xpand-Shoelac...nd+laces&psc=1

No more tying, just slip them on.
I've tried just about every style of no tie laces on Amazon, these work the best for gym shoes, IMO.

Most definitely quality material. I've been looking for a while to find a pair in at least decent shape for a good price. Outsole can always be redone at a cobbler. I got these new old stock for $100 shipped.

I actually love the way these shoes look, very classic. Then again. I also love York vintage plates, lol. Safe shoes were the top standard for years, good luck, and great find !

I stumbled across them on eBay. Been searching for a pair there and other places like Craigslist for a long shot. Powerlifting shoe and Titan Safe SST shoe are a couple search terms I used.

My gym has been moving into next-level status over the past few months here-
After years of wanting an Olympic platform, I finally have one lined up to pick up this weekend:

My weight room wish-list is dwindling down.... for now.

My latest home gym purchase strive incline plate loaded chest. Still getting used to the loading variations. Very steep angle and it's almost like a super incline half delt half chest but really like it. Would buy more strive stuff straight away

Gym in London was getting rid of it. This is only the 3rd piece of strive kit I've seen in the uk. I missed a bicep machine. The build quality on it is top notch and it weighs a tonne

Picked up a Sorinex Hip Thruster. I was torn on actually picking up a Sorinex piece but since it's secondhand, no money into Sorinex's pocket. Good deal too.

Nice pickup. I personally dont like a full back rest when doing 90 degree work, so i often use a flat bench, but i sometimes lean back while pressing so i have also kept my eye out for a similar one with the footrest. Havent found one close enough and its never been on my personal “critical search and drive however far is needed” list

I didnt realize there were hip thruster benches. Besides conveniance, is there other functional benifits to using a hip thruster bench, is the height different or some other aspect improved? Not that it would be neccesary for me to see it as worth you adding, this is the equipment forum afterall, so just conveniant and for gym is good enough certainly!

    URBAN LIFTER:
I have ivanko with the made in taiwan stickers and if i remember correctly the o’s and OM’s all are imported. I dont think the casting on mine is all that great, better then current cheap plates but not as good as some if my really old lathed cap plates. I recall some old threads about old caps being very well made, i have About 1000 pounds of really nice ones from the late 90’s that are not only lathed but great casting and even paint is good. Newer stuff is definitely not at that level, i have another 300 or so pounds of newer style ones from random pickups and gone is the lathing, clean casting and good finish. There good for throwing on leg press or other machines
The ivankos arent bad, the big draw for me with them is the deeper dish, so there great rack plates where your always loafing and unloafing, plus they look great. Holes are not the tightest though. I use the ivankos on my rogue rack for that reason. Interestingly i never used a plate that had super tight tolerences befire 6 months ago when i picked up a second rack and needed a weight set fir it. I got urathane intek grip plates with a stainless steel insert to prevent the urathane from tearing where tge hole is. The insert is perfect fit, and as nice as it is, it is a bit slower and theres a few weight horns there harder to get on, i pieced the set together ibpver a few buys and had them sitting on a cheap weight tree that they were so tight on i would have tp rotate the plates sometimes tp get them off and on.

    Two main benefits:
    - Band pegs for using bands only, barbell + bands or barbell only
    - Foot platform being attached eliminates sliding or tipping of bench.

Honestly, I found my Rogue flat bench almost unusable for hip thrusts. Just not heavy enough to stay still...I was tipping it or sliding it back.

This also stores completely vertical. It rests on the wheels and the back of the pad. Takes up very little floor space when vertical.

Sounds like you need a heavier bench...

That's a cool one. I really like the Arsenal one - the Reloaded Glute Bridge. I'm assuming the foot platform is slightly adjustable.

That one is pretty nice too. The foot platform seems to have 2 positions, slight incline or flat.

Thanks! Now I can see the full machine. They also have a more standard looking one beside the GHD.
