That was a steal. That is a great FT..I was looking at one a couple years ago but guy wanted $2000 and wouldn't budge.. Plus my ceiling height and space were limiting so I ended up with an Inspire FT2...But I used a pickup truck for transport...I guess I don't have your determination LOL

I picked up the Vulcan v2 Absolute power bar. The following is cross-posted with the Vulcan thread.

Lifted with the Absolute bar today. I am very impressed. The knurling is awesome - may be my new favorite of my bars. It's aggressive in all the right ways. Not overly sharp, but it has a really nice bite. Check out the comparison between it and the Rogue OPB (2nd Pic). The points-per-square-inch is significantly greater on the Vulcan bar.

I spoke too soon about the center knurl (3rd pic). After inspecting it some more and lifting with it, I think it's nice. It's not quite as mild as I made it out to be. It has a pretty good grip.

The matte chrome sleeves are pretty neat... for now. I'm still not sold on matte chrome on sleeves, as any scratch really shows up (looks like normal chrome at that point). But for now it looks really nice. There must be something with these deeper grooves that reduces the plate slide noise. I noticed this first on the Fringe Sport bars, and this one is similar. The noise is really reduced, IMO.

In general, I think I'll be using this bar a lot. It just felt great today.

EliteFTS Football Bar, purchased from a forum member who doesn't spend as much time here these days. That's sad, because he knows a lot about vintage gear. I spent 2.5 hours chatting and drooling over his collection on Sunday.

I was a lurker for the past few years. Sometimes when what you have is sufficient and have nothing new to add to this forum you just browse. I didn't buy any equipment for the last 4 years until just recently with my new rack. Now I'm back. Although I never thought I was going to be a Titan fan.

Well, you're right, there are a number of regulars whom we don't see around here anymore, at least not very often. There are a number of newer guys who have been pretty regular and contribute a lot to the forum, although you might not recognize the names right away. Hang around a while, you'll find out who they are pretty quickly.

Nice...I have one like that I bought from Westside over ten years ago...it has knurled sleeves though. It is my farvorite bar by far!

Yeah, it is a more "deluxe" model than anything I would have bought new.....I really like the knurled grips, and the sleeves spin well enough for anything I would ever contemplate doing with this bar.

I can't say that I've ever seen a bar with knurled sleeves......I'll assume that the purpose of that is to either keep plates from walking or to help spring collars get a little more traction.

Great looking bar! One like this style is the only one I would consider buying, but I'm not interested enough to pay new prices and haven't had any used ones show up anywhere close. Very nice addition.

Nice find! I'm curious what the ends look like on that FBB, your Elitefts version looks very similar to my Reps Direct version (mine has a bolt on each end with no inner "snap ring" type part).

Well, not really a purchase since I got it for free, but I picked up a Northern Lights FT last night. I don't remember the model number at the moment and I can't find it online, but I've got the manual at home. It's built using 2x2 11ga or 12ga steel, has two 150lb weight stacks, and adjustable pullies (weight ratio is 1:2 I think). I do not have the room for it at the moment, so it'll be in pieces until I can clear out some of my wife's sht in our fourth bedroom/office.

    Before disassembly:

    One stack off:

    Almost done:

    All loaded up:

It's not as nice as the Life Fitness unit I'm used to, but it'll definitely do the job. I picked it up from a super nice middle-aged couple in the midst of their renovations. They just wanted it gone. I'm really happy that I was quick enough to get this. I've seen a couple of other FTs exactly like this one going for $1400+ on Kijiji, and apparently they were $2k new (discontinued now). Probably actually worth closer to $1000.

They also gave me the thin rubber mat it stood on, as well as one horse stall mat they had lying around. I'm seriously in awe that they were giving this setup away for free. I'm going to remember this act of generosity and pay it forward in the future.

    Cannot beat free. Nice.

I posted these last summer, but a repost might be appropriate! I don't know who this Matrix feller is, but I am pretty sure he is my doppleganger.

    York VKR: $30
    SAMSON Leg Extension: $20
    AMF Squat Rack: $75
    01 Dodge Neon: $500
As you can see, I underpaid for all of it!!!!

    The SAMSON Leg Extension . . .

The AMF Squat Rack. . .

All packed into my Deceptacon/Dodge Neon. . .

That is glorious!! I should have chosen my words better, perhaps I am your doppleganger!! All joking aside, I am a big fan of your work, I linger here more than I post, but I have been a fan of your car/equipment photos for a while. Might I ask, what type of damage have your cars sustained through hauling equipment? While loading the Samson leg extension (super heavy) in my dodge, I accidentally tore a big hole in the headliner, panicked and dropped it, tearing another hole in the back seat. Wouldn't trade that damage for anything!!!

Have you seen the show 'Hoarders'?

Matrix is the most dedicated home gym enthusiast I have seen, I think his bed is rack mounted and the toilet doubles as a calf machine (and box squat).

I'll try to get a pic of the ends, but they are bolted. The bolt is actually a little smaller than the ones you normally see on cheaper bars. The sleeves don't have a bushing, but they spun well enough once I applied a little 3 in 1 oil. I really only did that out of curiosity, I don't really have any need for rotating sleeves on that bar. I do really like the fact that the grips are knurled.
