I've been wanting to do this for about ohhhhhh 7 years now. Never got around to it.
I bought two 4'x6' 3/4" horse stall mats to replace some old beat up wood platforms I built a long time ago for deadlifits. They were way past needing replaced as they were warped pretty good. I also have a 2'x4' piece of wood I like to squat and deadlift on. Super cheap and easy solid base. I found I didn't like pulling and squatting right on rubber horse stall mats so got it to try out. That was about 7 years ago too. Never did build a full platform and figured this works. Plus as it wears out it's super easy to just pick up and cheap again to replace. Only issue is it's 3/4" so I put down some of those "workout" tiles on the sides but they compress and kept getting groves that messed up my pulling. So, I'd rotate around and eventually would swap out those foam like mats. Happy to finally replace those as well with solid rubber mats.
VERY easy to cut with a utility knife with a fresh blade in it and something to raise up the point being cut. Took about 30 minutes each horse stall mat to chop up the way I wanted. Short quick strokes with very little pressure and I was through in about 4 strokes.
Made a bunch of 18x20 and used the long left over to piece up around the 2'x4' plywood "platform"

First I'd cut long ways the 20" and then the next 20" Used a 2x4 under it to help split it. These have a straight grove on one side and used it as my marker to cut along.

Then to cut the 18" accross the long strips I'd just use some masking tape to be able to mark and draw a line. Then take a quick first pass with the razor blade staying on the line.

After the first quick pass I layed it over a pvc pipe but a 2x4 or the level I used would have worked too. 4 quick swipes accross and I had my 18"x20" mat

I just left them separate and can use them for deficit deadlifts conventional or side by side for sumo or for block pulls.

Used two of the 18x20 mats on each side of the plywood and cut up the left over length to go around it. Will help protect the wood from my bench dragging across it as I remove and put it back.

Not exactly bought today but very recent. I've been needing to organize a bunch of stuff. This was perfect for many attachment and accessories I have. I don't even have a cable machine but use the cable attachments with bands. It's the york verticle machine bar rack.

Jason, nice piece, I been looking around for a solution for all my scattered cable attachments and that looks to be a reasonable choice (I almost had a brainstorm for a custom attachment tree with wheels and handle transport at one time) but for me, rolling it around wouldn't be utilized much since my lat machine station is just in one standard sized room. This could definitely work out for me.

It was cheaper then a few others I looked at like Bodysolid's. There's nothing on that back side which is fine as I have that side up against the wall. The way it's built it's pretty simple to add more pegs by just drilling a hole and put in a bolt.
This is the inside.

I cleaned it up, snapped a couple decent pics, and posted it yesterday for $200, which is $100 below what the rest of them are posted for. I'm expecting it to be gone in a few days.
I've seen a bunch of them, and this one is the nicest I've seen in quite a while. Hardly any signs of use and nearly perfect paint. There was dust caked in the grooves of the display that had to be cleaned out with a piece of card stock."What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Custom fat bar made for some client that backed out and selling on ebay but I got the second to last new one. There's a used one for sale right now but don't know how long that will last.
copy paste from the thread I picked this up from:
OMG, I love this bar. It has exceeded my expectations. The collars are most definitely metal. Very nicely done! The black oxide looks really nice. So impressed and so well worth it.
The knurl is so much better then I thought it would be. It's deeper then I thought it would be. From the pictures I thought it would be much shallower. It's not an aggressive knurl by any means with flat tops but it's better done then I expected. My PVC ends were all in tact and looks like he used a fairly thin plastic wrapped in duct tape.

Don't know if anyone elses came with end caps but mine didn't. Don't really care though.

Metal collar for sure and here's the set screw. Special keyed.

Fits perfectly in my rack and the second to last rings on the ends (on the edge of the picture to right here) with my middle finger on the ring puts my pointer finger at the standard powerlifting ring marks. Those groves will come in handy. I'll have to measure out standard log hand distances and see how those line up too.

Narc, if you don't mind me asking, how tall are you?
I was reading reviews on the TDS Sissy Squat where some people are having issues using it due to their height.
I'm 6'5, so I don't think I'd have the same issues, but I value your first hand knowledge and thoughts on how it holds up.
As you were saying, the price point seems to be hard to beat when you factor in how much the others of similar quality are listed for on both Amazon and eBay.Last edited by TheDude8734; 01-26-2018 at 02:09 PM.

thanks. this thing was more challenging to take apart than i figured. they use some sort of velcro, probably used to keep spaceships together, to hold on the top guard. took me awhile to pry it off because i thought it was magically bolted on and didn't want to break it. then once i got the set screws out of the top of the guide rods, there were friggin snap rings on the black pieces right above them that needed to be removed. luckily i had a pair of needle nose pliers and the guy had another pair so i could just grab the ends and pull them down.
THEN, i couldn't get the first pulley out, so i had to leave the cable, attached to the first weight plate and rod thingy, while taking the rest of the weight stack off.
can't wait to slap it back together tomorrow and try it out. now to order some mag attachments without the wife finding out...maybe i can tell her these were the attachments that came with it instead of the rusty gross ones...
