Well, just an update on the 3100 replacement pads from REP. VERY impressed! For $75 shipped they are an incredible value, fairly firm but not uncomfortable. The material is MUCH better than the pads they had on the V1, these are a great option for anyone looking to replace worn out pads on their bench.

Got the pads on last night, not too shabby looking on the CAP+ bench. The other pads did look a little nicer with the rounded edges, but they look better on the Powertec IMO. If my hybrid pad on the IM Pro ever wears out I'd look to replace it with something from REP, maybe one of their fat pads or something.

Used 1" lag bolts on these, had the option of drilling through the bench frame to use regular bolts into the pads, but I didn't want to mess with cleaning up metal shavings today. But it's nice having that option in the future if the lag bolts ever failed.

The Rep pads look great on the Cap bench. I haven't used any newer Rep benches, but those pads look similar to my FB5000 which feels great. There are always better options out there, but I think Rep has it dialed in pretty well on grip and firmness. And value, of course.

Agree, the pads feel just about perfect. The material does feel like it has more stick than the hybrid pad on the IM Pro, think they definitely found the sweet spot with the price of these pads. At least compared to something like Edge, which with shipping would cost you about $100 more.

May I know if there is any specific reason why this Rogue narrow one is better than Rep fitness one? I am now debating between these 2 and not sure which one to pick up.

If you are just looking for a pressing bar, I'd probably go with Rep and save some cash. For pulling movements, the nicely knurled handles on the Rogue bar give it more functionality. Spinning sleeves also make it a little better for bicep and tricep movements, perhaps at the cost of a little stability during pressing. I went with short sleeves though, which I think makes it a little more stable, though I don't know that for a fact. I haven't used others cambered swiss bars.

If you go Rogue, don't get matte for the sleeves. The coating makes plates hard to slide on and off. So you're stuck paying more for stainless, which makes Rogue exceptionally expensive.

Yes, the holes for the REP pads are right up the middle. None of the holes with the CAP pad lined up, so I just lag bolted them to the machine through the existing bolt holes. No issues so far, really enjoying the multibench!

How thick would you guess that plywood to be?

    Multi-bench is great for variety.

Not quite on topic but since the regular forum is overrun, figured this is as good of place as any.

Ironmaster Step Bench is on sale for $159. This is the "commercial" version of the Super Bench but is smaller, lighter, and not compatible with the attachments. Probably not for anybody here, but I thought it was interesting. https://www.ironmaster.com/products/...NCH_BLOWOUT_SL

Thought I remembered REP saying they used 3/4" thick wood on their pads, but this felt like 1/2" with how quickly I drilled through. So I used 1" lag bolts and put two spacers on each in hopes that it wouldn't protrude too far into the pad.

Saw that ad too. Think this is the second time I recall them running a sale on that bench, it's an interesting little thing! If you wanted a SUPER low to the ground flat bench you could slap a 5000 series REP back pad on there. Would be the ultimate bench solution for a young child!

Got these DB UHMW trays a few months back from BWTG and they arrived on New Years (also in the picture is the Rep Sabre Bar which is my gf's bar, but I also use it for supersets and quick set ups along with my AB Elite Power Bar).

The UHMW game on the trays are no joke and the inner lining prevents scratching up the rack, these deluxe ones aren't by any means cheap...however they offer peace of mind and expending less energy than kicking up the DBs into position and less strain on the shoulders, also, since the majority of my main compound movements are in the garage, the setup from movements is potentially quicker...

The UHMW game on the trays are no joke and the inner lining prevents scratching up the rack, these deluxe ones aren't by any means cheap...however they offer peace of mind and expending less energy than kicking up the DBs into position and less strain on the shoulders, also, since the majority of my main compound movements are in the garage, the setup from movements is quicker.
Looks like something I need to add to my setup. I take it they work as intended and you've been able to smoothly un-rack and re-rack DBs? I bet re-rack is more challenging. They might be worth it even if the re-racking process isn't great.

As someone who uses a version of this, I'd say unracking is actually more of a pain because you have to set up further away than a barbell/j-hook setup (because dumbbell head is so much bigger than a bar). But it's still way better than hiking up a pair of 120s and praying your shoulders stay intact while you flop back on the bench. Biggest advantage is starting at the top of the movement. Otherwise that first rep was always painful for me.

Fortunately, I'm not strong enough on bench for pain to be a factor yet. Or, my shoulders that were once chronically injured are now strong enough that I'll be able to continue progressing to the point where I'll need more DB before I need spotters. Either way, it sounds like I shouldn't be in a hurry to get these. I'll wait until I start struggling to kick the weights up.

I got the IronMaster Kettlebell and a Rage 20lb slam ball. I'm transitioning to more mobility style training, mainly golf specific. I already had the IM quick-lock dumbbell set so getting their kettlebell was a no brainer for me. I did a little research on slam balls and the Rage brand seems solid. Saw a guy use his 5 year old one which he said has held up nicely, and for the money seemed like a decent deal. Thanks to radrd's recommendation I've got a starter set of bands coming from Amazon. I have zero experience with kettlebells or slam balls, and little to nothing with bands. Not sure if starting with a 22.5lb kettlebell is the way to go, but strength isn't really an issue, just mobility. I can see myself adding several more slam balls, maybe 10, 30, and 40lbs, but I think I'm good on kettlebells now. IronMaster says this will go up 80lbs.

Anyone see these online, how did I not hear about them while they were in stock?!?!?!?! Already seeing them on ******** market place going for $750-$1k a pair, looks like a potential limited run of 500 pairs and they were $275. Hopefully that's just a rumor that it was a super limited run, I would have picked up a pair to keep with my DD set.

I got an email about those from Rogue last week. I guess they sold out right away.

They're nice, but Rogue is charging a $95 premium for what is essentially one of their existing deep dish plates with a different mold (I guess there might be licensing costs to consider, but that's still pretty steep).

I remember buying machined Cap Barbell plates in the late nineties for 30 cents/pound.

Very true on the price being steep, but I'm thinking more about what they could be worth in 20-30 years as a collectors item.

Like a new-age version of the Zuver plates, something that may become highly coveted.

I'm definitely on the same page with the above mentioned, I'm good with the original Rogue DD plates to use and abuse, but if a pair of Arnold's decide to restock, I would jump on getting them for what they'd potentially fetch.
