$100 for that and the plate is fantastic. That's a great seated calf and it's in great condition to boot.

Hey Eric, that's a steal, at current market prices the plate is worth the purchase price on it's own. Bodymasters made some great equipment and that piece looks to be no exception.

Thanks, the benefit of not being able to sleep in the middle of the night. It is a tank. Yes I might have to sell the slightly rusted cap 45# plate.

Nice pickup. I'm not any kind of calf raise connoisseur but I've used this model BodyMasters and I really liked it. I haven't found one I like better.

The first commercial gym I joined was all done in BodyMasters. Even to this day a few of those pieces remain as my favorites and none were horrible (their leg press is one of them).

I'm looking for an opinion on this type of Leg Press machine.

I've never used one like this, and I'm considering a unit that is for sale.

    How's the ROM?
How does it compare to the usual type of Leg Press where the seat slides back?
The one I'm looking has 80kg stack. Is that enough?

I'll probably go to check it out, although it's a 3h round trip.

Unless you're a pre-teen girl or 75+ yr old woman, you're going to need more than an 80kg stack on a leg press machine.

Well, I guess he got his opinion!

I've used this same style Leg Press. Not a fan if you're going to use it for actual leg pressing. The ROM kind of sucks and will suck even more if you don't allow your ass to round off of it. I'm not a fan of leg pressing in general b/c it aggravates my lower back issues so take that for what it's worth. What i do love this type of leg press for is calf raises. We have one from Hoist and i've found it to be great in that regard.

    Thanks.
That pretty much confirms my assumptions.
It's probably the reason why only two or three manufacturers make this style of Leg Press. I've never seen it in a gym.

I'm looking for a horizontal leg press because squats do very little for my stork legs at best of times. I've torn an Achilles tendon last year, and that also carries some limitations.

Gods forgive me, but I selfishly hope that public gyms will close due to the virus, and I can buy some of their equipment.

Ever been on a Flex/Startrac or Nebula Hack Squat? I'm kinda long-legged and I used to do a lot of bar squatting but had to give them up due to back issues. In terms of machines/pieces, the Flex Hack and a Zane Leg Blaster have been great for me. I do other things with dumbbells and bodyweight but in terms of equipment purchases, those were two pieces for my lower body that i hold in very high regard. I had a Paramount Pendulum Squat too at one point and it hammered my quads well but put a bit too much pressure on my lower back at the bottom of the movement (i used to go hams to calves).

I was pretty eager to snatch up some machines when this happened, but then all of these big real estate guys saw the opportunity to enter a new market and started buying up all the inventory. The end result is that machines in my area are going for 2-4x what they were going for pre-COVID. :x

^ nice! I’ve been on the hunt for one of those, but they’re all $400+. I’ve been pulling up a bench to the back hyperextension bench.

Nice! I've always preferred to do these standing and I love both the flat and angled sides. I also like they don't have the single holder in the middle which always made gripping with a very close grip difficult. I much prefer the wide arms to rest the bar on.

Nice find. Ive never seen a standing PC for sale anywhere near me. Still hunting. I always enjoyed doing spider curls (I believe thats what they're called) on those things.

I like that one, since it looks pretty compact. I had an Icarian version but it was huge.

Nice piece. Looked for one of those for quite a while on Craigslist/marketplace but very scarce and prices were ridiculous and the pads would be torn etc...Not a lot of standing curl benches out there so good for you getting a real nice one

I have a GHD and gave this a whirl. For DBs it's fine. Might be okay for ez curl bar but never tried and I imagine more awkward than a dedicated bench where you can reach forward and grab the bar (maybe it sits okay on the handles though). If you own or really get a lot out of a GHD probably worthwhile trying it.

Haven't been able to "rep" many of you for a year or more...not for lack of trying.

Ya I've done it lol. I rest the ez curl bar on the front handles of the GHD. I found it a little more awkward with dumbbells personally.
