[QUOTE=alexthaman;1563582421]New Prime fitness goodies arrived home this week. New split squat wedges set, 10deg, 20deg, 30deg. Also landmine, long and short bar for ROT-8 handles attachments and the spreader bar. I already owned the Rot-8 handles from a previous order. The order arrived better wrapped than anything i have bought from any company before... I litteraly love all Prime stuff, i would love to have some room for some of their machines but having these small attachments or tools include them in my home gym stuff! Great pieces by the way.
curious on your thoughts on the PRIME RO-T8 Spreader Bar. was eyeing that piece for a while. Just need to justify the cost- a bit pricey.
nice haul-always nice to get new toys.

Great find! I've recently been cleaning rusty plates and roundheads in a mixture of Oxalic acid. I bought a 5lb oackage off Ebay and mix about 4 Tbsp/gal of water and let them soak and I haven't found anything that works better or is this easy. After soaking , I wipe them off with steel wool that's been dipped in clean solution or vinegar and wipe dry, give them a heavy wi****wn with WD40 and they look great. Those plates would probably need to soak for at least 24 hrs maybe longer, just have to check on them.
Now OK for Sig line to be a novel

That's a good tip. On spread. I usually just spray on some simple green and go to town with a wire brush, repeating until they're mostly tetanus free. Most of the plates aren't AS rusty as they look in the (poorly lit) picture, but it will still take a while to clean them up. From the pictures I thought the seller only had about 200 pounds of unbranded plates, so wasn't unhappy about finding 320# when I got there. It would have still been a good deal with 200 pounds. I need to find a matching 25 so I can finish off the set.
The bar is what's really going to need some attention. I had no idea that it was anything but a normal cheapo bar, because it was so dirty that it looked like it had a normal sized shoulder bolt in the picture. I've wanted an OB-84 for quite some time, so hopefully I can get it back to a usable state.

For the bar, to get the bolt out i think you need 3/8" wrench. I can double check. It took more time that getting a roll pin out and while putting it back
Mine were not as rust as yours but what i did was use 3 in 1 oil and with bronze wire wheel on the sleeves and the shaft. I was able to keep most of the BO layer. I think the pics are in the Ivanko BB thread. You may have to go more than one round to get the rust off on the shaft and the sleeves.[M]===[6]▪ Mech6 Crew #35 ▪[M]===[6]

Can you post the pics of the bolts and do you see OB-84 and Ivanko barbell USA engraving on the sleeves?
For reference

Benchgrinder even though quicker, i believe will take the BO layer off. NorthernMoriss did that i think.[M]===[6]▪ Mech6 Crew #35 ▪[M]===[6]

Yeah, the bolts almost came out by hand after soaking. The sleeves are still completely stuck. I hit it with some more oil and have been giving it some whacks with a deadblow hammer. Hopefully they break loose soon and I can actually start cleaning up. I haven't come across a bar this seized up before, especially after the bolts are removed.

May be the sleeves need 2 to 3 rounds of penetrating oil with a gap of 24 hrs between each round.
I had to use hard plastic head hammer to get one of the sleeves slide off the bar not ivanko or York . But it was 6 ft rackable bar. Still have it. Tapping/gentle blows on the face inner collar worked as the sleeve slid out from the other end.
It does look like it has seized up real good. It has bronze bushings which are nice.[M]===[6]▪ Mech6 Crew #35 ▪[M]===[6]
