I don't really need it and don't know where I will put it, but couldn't resist it for $20. It had been listed by a university surplus store with no picture for 3 weeks as "curl bench"; finally had time to go see what they had. Needs new plastic and one small tear in the pad, otherwise good to go:
Also got my Boneyard B&R bar. Both ends of the shipping tube were broken open, fortunately no notable damage. Knurl feels fantastic, can't wait to try it. Haven't found the reason it was in the Boneyard yet, but I'll assume it was double track knurl somewhere since I don't see anything obvious. Between my other two Boneyard bars:

Cybex replacement pads came today from Edge Fitness! REALLY nice, aside from some scuffs on the top it's apparent that they only use top quality material (3/4" wood, firm padding, stitched well). The material itself is incredibly 'grippy', almost feels like a rubber top and the sides are tough mesh that appears to be bullet proof. Need to get some lag bolts to put them on still (after I repaint the frame), but here are a couple shots with them in place. FIRST annoyance that I noticed was that they left the wood exposed on the rear (easy fix). SECOND slight annoyance was that due to the pad design it will increase the hinge gap slightly because it's not tapered like the manufacturer. However, lying flat on the bench the gap was still noticeably better than Legend 3103 and the 12" width should feel great for flat benching. Only other mention-able was that the Edge padding is about 1/2 thicker than Cybex, which bumped the overall height to 17" which is still in the optimal range for my intended use. Which makes sense, the padding is about the same thickness but Cybex uses a 1/4" strip of wood and Edge is 3/4" thick. Very happy with the price/quality of the padding, I have no doubt it will stand up to serious abuse and the added width didn't totally destroy the sexiness of the bench (IMO).

I like those pads. The 12" width looks good, too.
My Quantum bench has a 3-4" pad gap, but it's never bothered me. I think it's kind of an overblown thing, like 1" hole spacing.
How did Cybex get away with a 1/4" sheet for the pad? I don't think I've seen anything thinner than 1/2" on a bench, at least a commercial one.

Vulcan 20/24/30 soft plyo box.
Quick review: I like it a lot. I think it's the bext soft plyo box on the market. Weighs about 70 lbs. though (excellent for it's intended use, bad for when your tiny wife has to move it). My UPS driver impressed me on this one.. he didn't even use a dolly.

Haha, nice meme! But to answer Dom, no I did not sell the CAP+ bench (at least not yet). They are two completely different beasts now and they compliment each other nicely. They Cybex will be my wider flat bench (also incline curls) and the CAP will be my narrow DB bench for incline and upright press. As long as I have two racks it makes sense, when/if that changes I would definitely sell the CAP bench.

This is all from the past three weeks or so. Gym is still in shambles from rework that i started a pwhle back to fit more crap.
Titan cambered squat bar. Heavy as hell, i think that the upper piece is solid steel bar. Total weight is 75 #
Titan reverse hyper, built like a tank, comes with stabilizer and frame build and finish quality is excellent! The leg strap isnt quite spud quality but easy to remedy.
Titan multi grip cable attachment, literally a multi grip barbell without the weight horns, BIG, but really like it.
Bodymasters belt drive pulldiwn and adjustable cable column 2 station unit
Black widow cambered row/ press bar.
I have on the way but not received in yet
Boack widow rackable hex bar
Titan multi grip cambered bar
.
The BWTG row bar is Deans usual great quality, really intrigued by this bar and looking forward to trying one awhile. Its like a budget duffalo but in a fat bar, it doesn't have the benefit of the angled hand position, but lowers hand position on squats, so hopefully still relieves shoulder pain, gives added depth pressing. Theres some movements im curious about with the bar, shrugs should be more in line. deeper range of motion on rows, maybe i can try some prone rows of some sort. i like and use my duffallo a lot, So this should give a few different variations on some of the exercises i like the duff for and add a few new ones. i Was looking at options for awhile, theres not a lot of options. the new cap bar is cheap but very light duty, theres one from adder but there questionable quality, the watson one looks nice but shipping is crazy to get it here, and i prefer a fat bar anyway.Last edited by Hardgains88; 08-25-2018 at 10:34 PM.

But the texture and thickness looks more like a Rep new FAT pad than Rogue AB 2.0 one.
AB2.0
Anyway, padding looks really good. Beats the Full circle padding one by miles.
This is may not be UL's color scheme but I think white frame with the Edge padding looks really good on 5435.[M]===[6]▪ Mech6 Crew #35 ▪[M]===[6]

Picked up a used B&R v1 barbell today. I still haven't tried it yet.
Was initially looking for a power bar (tpb or opb) but saw this bar on kijiii... and jumped on it.
I have a Chan bar, but for some exercises the special knurling is too short, and was looking for another bar. My collection is getting better!

Look at what I didn't buy today. I have been using my box squat to hold my powerblocks but doesn't quite fit them well. I have been thinking of buying something but decided today was a good day to build the stand with scraps I had laying around.
Painted high gloss black with a sheet of acrylic on top painted black underneath. Prevent the paint from rubbing off the wood. It will also protect the wood as it was cheap OSB. Also, angled it.

That my friend is a watson glute ham raise bench. Probably the most elaborate design not including a actual resistance arm made, the half moon ghd style pads allow your back to arch and rotate during the hip thrust allowing better range of motion. The pad section is actually adjusted back and firth on a pair of 1” rails and rides on a linear bearing set up like a leg press! The footplate is massive, easily the size of a big hack squat snd adjusts from almost vertical to almost horizontal. It weoghts about 2oo pounds, its only real down fall. It has massive adjustable bar holders that are removable and can be inserted anywhere along the length of the bench.
Really spectacular piece. I got it in like new condition for $300. From a gym that just got it, but decided to add a model with an actual resistance arm, eliminating needing to posotion a bar or use bands.
I wasntlooking fir it but always wanted a Watson piece and they paid over $2000 shipped for it about 5 months earlier, so coulnt pass it up. Theres probably some other cool uses for the bench if i play around, maybe tricep movemehts, prone rows, ill have to see, doing hip thrusters certainly feels like a whole different movement on this.

I know, right? Lol.
So the Vulcan is cheaper (price is shipped!) and heavier than Rogue's box (The Vulcan soft box is actually heavier than a standard wood plyo box). Vulcan's is actually a wood box wrapped in 4" of foam, whereas Rogue's is all foam. I think the graphics are slightly tacky looking, but it seems like they would help in seeing the edges of the box better. Vulcan also has 3 weighted balls inside so it will always be heaviest on the bottom. Pretty neat features. I think Rogue has the second best option on the market, and many people love that one too. You really can't go wrong with either.
I had the Rogue Games box a few years ago (before I went on a 3 year powerlifting binge.. lol). I don't miss that beast. They are great, but after using this soft box, I'd never go back to a wood box. Even though the Vulcan is heavier, it seems easier to move around than that awkward wood box. It's probably just b/c the Vulcan has a little give to it...Last edited by thejosef; 08-28-2018 at 07:29 AM.
