    If you live in a hot, not very seasonal climate, it's significantly cheaper. Like here in Florida almost every house has an in ground pool unless they're really really ghetto. No winterizing, draining and refilling etc. means you only pay for water treatment which isn't bad.

    The fact that you mention ''not really looking for a pool'' would suggest that you aren't really into swimming. I'm not a fan of swimming myself so I went with a pond.



    BRB very low maintenance and provides nice scenery and hhnnnnnnnggggg sound of a small waterfall.

    Great for parties but spends half the year being unused. It's also a pain to keep in top shape

    Just find a public pool IMO
