Thanks mate, new pics in 4 week so hopefuly see some good progress in them! it takes the pi*s though yeah if i wanted that im sure id get it at a 6 figure sum to the tax payer!

Had my consultation today, the cyst is very close to where a cranial nerve in the trap muscle is, so im going to have to pay to get a ultrasound done on the area - the guy is a specialist and showed me diagrams ect, if it was the nerve and he removed it id lose mobility in shoulder and it would completely drop... so as much as a pain and extra expense it is im going to have the scan. If its an enlarged nerve he cant do anything..but suspects its a cyst.

Cheers mate, have the appointment on the 16th so only a week to go now and then hopefully can get it sorted

    Weigh in today, week 25

    Start weight - 22 stone 1 lb

Last week Weigh in - 18 stone 5.1/5lbs

    Current weight - 18 stone 3.1/2lbs

Total Loss to date - 53.1/2 lbs

A pound and three quarters down this week, pleased with that! workouts have been poor due to problems with shoulder, I think it might be bicep tendonitis and and so the muisses has been pulled in to doing regular massages on the shoulder, hopefully this helps because as of now im lifting 25% less than i was in benchpress and shoulder press and its annoying me..i could just accept the discomfort and push through it but the last thing i want to do is put myself out of action!

Sorry your shoulders no better. Try and put an emphasis on other body parts that dont cause pain. Also do rear delt exercises 3 times a week, fantastic for shoulder health. Well done on your continued weight loss, your consistency has been great

Thanks mate, have just watched some youtube vids and done some tests, its definitely shoulder impingement in my left shoulder. makes sense i have sat hunched over computers a lot, work online from home in a bad chair ect.

Will do more research as i have to try and fix this at home with all this covid crap i very much doubt the docs will help much. I have been using a stupid deckchair as a computer chair for over a year and had a hunched posture for years - its now biting me in the ass.

I really hope i can fix this, with this and cyst removal its looking like maybe i need to take a break from lifting and focus completely on fixing my issues, if thats the case its pretty gutting but will carry on with the weight loss. or maybe dropping the benchpress and shoulder press will be enough.

I want to lift, but will have too see if i should be.

Rear delt and back 3 times a week mate. Rear delt flyes light weight high reps, bent over rows 3 times a week with a big emphasis on scapula retraction. Look up the doorway stretch for your chest do that daily and do shoulder dislocations with a broom handle 3 times a week. I had shoulder impingement which also irritated my bicep and this is how I corrected it. When you're able to reintroduce shoulders and chest make sure you have a ratio of 2:1 of back to chest/shoulder exercises

    Weigh in today, week 26

    Start weight - 22 stone 1 lb

Last week Weigh in - 18 stone 3.1/2lbs

    Current weight - 18 stone 2.3/4lbs

Total Loss to date - 54.1/4 lbs

three quarters of a pound this week, less than ideal but im happy with it! its been 26 consecutive weeks of weight loss now and honestly every weds im now thinking to myself "is this the week i maintain/gain" i mean it has to happen sooner or later..But for now im trying to keep up this unbeaten streak as long as possible, and when it does happen it does not really matter anyway as long as it does not last to long. in 2 weeks time i have my next lot of 12 week progress update photos coming..Im getting more critical of them the more weight i lose, but i know that whist the 12 weeks photos might not show much difference looking back at the lot before that at 24 weeks ago will show significant change so im glad im doing them.

Have the ultrasound on my back today , turns out its not a normal cyst but also does not look like this nerve thing either, suspects a different type of cyst, anyways saw the ultrasound and you can see where its pushing down my trap muscle..waiting for a talk with the surgeon on how to proceed but really want it gone now.

Have cut out all benchpressing and shoulder press for now, and am just focusing on back and legs - doing the Rear delt flys on back day with no weight at all, and thats a challenge! i must have neglected that muscle so badly i dont even need weight for the first time i did them.

Hopefully the surgeon can get rid of it for you mate, rear delt work is strange because you can only use very light weight with it but it's so beneficial for shoulder health. 54lbs is a massive difference and if you do start stalling just remember how far you have come. Not many people could have done what you have done, your consistency is impressive and the improvements you've made not just in how you look and feel but your health is huge

Good job with the consistency man! Your total loss is starting to become a big number!

Sucks about the injury but yeah you are right to take the long view. Not working out as effectively for a short while always feels like the end of the world but you'll thank yourself later as if you didn't take it easy it would never recover and likely get worse

    Keep it up

    Cheers lads, appreciate it

I think im at a mental point right now where im getting impatient..I dont know where this has come from really, strength isnt doing much and its a damn slow process to lose all this weight - but then i remind myself losing 100+ pounds is not going to happen in a short amount of time lol.

On the plus side im fully into my routine and im certain I have fixed all my poor eating habits so i know this time is sustainable long term.

I actually crash dieted once from my 250lbs down to 180 lbs back in my 20s - but never changed my eating habits so ended back where i am.

I think this time around i will be in better shape at 13 stone than I was back then though so i just really want the weight loss phase over so i can go on a slow bulk and start making some strength gains.

I appreciate the support - it feels good to going through with something I always wanted to do but never got round to it!

Just ordered 3 steel maces, a 3kg, 6kg and 9kg - heard they are good for shoulder issues and general functional strength so worth a try, pre order for the 27th of October.

    Weigh in today, week 27

    Start weight - 22 stone 1 lb

Last week Weigh in - 18 stone 2.3/4lbs

    Current weight - 18 stone 2.1/4lbs

Total Loss to date - 54.3/4 lbs

Just half a pound this week, but a loss is a loss..Hopefully picks up a bit next week as last 2 weeks have been slower for sure, a pound and a quarter in 2 weeks is not good for my weight, however it is 27 weeks of weight loss - fingers crossed this is my plateau and im still losing just slower. if i get to a sticking point i could be more strict with macros or start adding in some cardio so i have left myself some options.

New photos to come next week for the 28 week point, and then more at 40 weeks

I would get yourself to 180ish then you would be in a great position to do bulk and cut cycles. I think you're going to have a good base of muscle when you're done with your cut

I'd be very reluctant to cut calories further, especially if your still losing weight. If your not happy with the pace of it currently, I'd up cardio slightly instead. But it's like you said a loss is a loss, I wouldn't change anything until two weeks of zero loss. Or even have a little break from it. Then get back to it with new vigor.
Anyway, very well done, that's some great progress in just 27 weeks!

Last week Weigh in - 18 stone 2.1/4lbs

    Current weight - 17 stone 12.3/4lbs

Total Loss to date - 58.1/4 lbs

Awesome week this week, thanks for the advice guys - I think for now i will keep calories the same as i am still loosing on it for the moment and i have to think long term as i still have a lot to shift. I have some news, cyst is being removed on the 9th so thats good!

In worse news my shoulder impingement is playing up, i have notcied my left shoulder droops (thats the bad shoulder) i am stopping all pushing upper body exercises for now until i can see a sports physio (more money ffs lol) I may need to do a few months of streching and posture correction/corrective exercise before i overhead press and bench - that would suck but again im looking long term and do what needs to be done.

Ok its time for 12 week progress update pictures, and where as last time i wasnt to happy with progress this time im pretty pumped up about it, posture seems to be improving too!

a one pound weight loss this week, but il take that, at this point im happy to just trend downwards. Cheers mate! shoulder injury still playing up, its better but only because i stopped doing bench and overhead press - I have started introducing some neutral grip dumbbell benchpress and low weights and slowly raising it for now. I have cyst removal on shoulder on friday - gona let it heal then get myself to a sports physio to find out whats going on and go from there

That's a massive difference mate, well done! Switching to Dumbbells on bench is a good call, way better for shoulders. I've been training exclusively with dumbbells for the last couple of months and my shoulders haven't felt as good in a long while.

Cheers Brit-Iron! I have actually been training with dumbbells from the start (only have a dumbbell bench and dont have room for another) - I just changed my grip, i think it may have been overhead dumbbell press that did it. But looking back i see my first post in 2017 i was complaining about it so i think its a long term posture issue.

Hopefully the physio will be able to confirm what it is and point me in the right direction! Im doing impingement exercises for now and have cut out overhead lifts, been easing back into benchpress very gently with the nutural grip db benchpress - this time all on a flat bench (used to have a problem doing flat and did all incline)

it sucks but the last thing i want to do is tear the rotator cuff.

    Weigh in today, week 30

    Start weight - 22 stone 1 lb

Last week Weigh in - 17 stone 11.3/4lbs

    Current weight - 17 stone 11.1/4lbs

Total Loss to date - 59.3/4 lbs

Just half a pound weight loss this week. i kinda expected it with the doctors orders not to work out for 2/3 weeks (apparently I will know when i'm ready but not before 2 weeks) Have dropped calories to 2k to try and help even things out a bit. Really looking forward to getting lifting again. Hopefully these couple of weeks of might make me get some newbie gains again.
