    Costco rotisserie chicken—bad?

How bad is eating this without skin? I generally eat chicken breasts and was wondering if these are oiled and buttered up?

Have to put in context of the rest of your diet. What does your daily diet look like?

    Generally speaking should be fine.

I usually put these in quesidilas. Fry it up on olive oil, put some cumin and Cheyenne pepper the put it in a quesidila. They're cheap and last a few meals.

They're low in fats and high in protein if you don't eat the skin. They're a big part of my diet tbh.

It’svery clean. I follow macros to a T. 200C, 200P, 40F. I’m just trying to figure out if the chicken breast from the rotisserie chicken is similar to a chicken breast I grill up.

They obviously add spices, possibly oils, etc.. to the chicken so it won't be exactly the same as plain ol' chicken breast.

Fit it within your targeted macros and you should be fine. For the convenience, taste, and price, it's a good buy - IMHO.

Here is the calories in a whole chicken with skin. You can switch up to single servings etc. Keep in mind it won’t be 100% as different parts and if you eat the skin etc. A balanced diet is what you’re aiming for and yes it can be a part of one.

This. There's almost no way that's a good idea unless you're extremely overweight & cutting OP.

I myself did in fact eat a whole rotisserie chicken skin and all once. I drenched it in buffalo sauce. I was 20, barely ate that day, and thought I needed it to get my gains in. Big mistake. I still remember the horrible stomach ache, my clothes barely fit from the sodium because I bloated up so bad, & I was pissing maple syrup urine for a couple days. Needless to say, I didn't touch rotisserie chicken since. Hell, that miserable experience was part of why I gave up poultry.

That being said, there's no problem with it per se, though I wouldn't eat nothing but rotisserie chicken because it's loaded with preservatives that you shouldn't be eating every single day.

OP, you need to drop the word "clean" in relation to food from your vocabulary.

Of course food choices matter but they can't be classified in such a blunt manner. Every food contains the same superset of nutrients in varying amounts - focus on the doses of those nutrients that you get from your diet as a whole, not labelling foods as "clean" or not.

    https://completehumanperformance.com.../clean-eating/

In answer to your question, you could certainly include rotisserie chicken in a well balanced diet - with the skin on if you prefer.

Wouldn't it be more simple to ask an employee there if they put oils or not?
"Reminds me of the good ol' days back in 03-04 when ripptoes/5 by 5/hit/doggcrap reigned supreme and you did not need direct arm work for big biceps. Rows and chins were it. 40 grams fat per day? That's way too little, unless you weigh 100 pounds.

A whole chicken contains more parts than just breast. Thighs, wings, organs etc.

And Costco ads a lot of stuff to it. Salt being one of them.

50yo male. 5'8" 127lbs. My prior trainer had me drop from 145lbs in Feb to 123lbs in July. I am now trying to bulk up but he recommended this slowly. Not trying to cut at all at this point.

Make sure you're gaining 1-2 pounds per month. If not, eat more.

Recommended fat intake is 0.4 gram per lb = >50 grams.

I basically view rotisserie chicken from a store as a half cheat meal.
I love them but I don't know how you can really know what exactly you are eating. Then are you just going to throw out half the chicken and just eat the breast?

Need to figure out a way to cook breast at home that you like so you won't have to bother with this.
