The only people eating their words are people like you. Or have you forgotten what happened last year. He was talked all the way up to winning the show.

Even Dave Palumbo who is supposed to know what is going on has no idea.

Get ready to gather around for another feast.

Everyone is forgetting that he had multiple injuries leading up to the Olympia. The only reason he still did it was for the fans. Expect to see a much more polished version of the MMM this year. He will be winning a pro show and regaining what is rightfully his.

He will place deadlast again or close to it best case scenario.

He's planning on doing the Sheru classic which usually has several top guys and a pretty strong lineup and he feels he can win it, and worst case scenario take a few top guys down. His reasoning is they'll be slightly off cause it's several weeks after the O and they'll be burned out, he thinks that it's enough to level the playing field. The man is absolutely delusional. At least he admits though he has no hope in hell of coming in his best, but 85-90%?? 60 at best considering he was like 50 last year. As expected he will not be doing the Olympia this year, but he'd be willing to do the Olympia in 2018 if he qualifies. By that point he'll be 54, he'll be almost as old as Samir in 2012 when he did the guest posing and we all know how that worked out.

Last year was exciting because we had no idea how he aged, we never saw an elite bodybuilder come back 10+ years after last competing at 50 plus. I thought Kevin was an anomaly like Dexter J, he was banging close to the same weights as he was in his prime and he looks 10 years younger than he really is. Wasn't the case.

You're forgetting that Kevin is one of the most genetically gifted bodybuilders of all times. There are verified reports of him just starting to lift a few months out of the Olympia and coming in absolutely crazy. He earned his nickname the Maryland Muscle Machine for a reason. Never write him off. He will be taking a few names this upcoming season.

Yet it's hilarious how an untrained Kevin Leglessvrone has larger legs then you despite all the cell tech supplements you inject into your buttocks coupled with your 1 inch squats.

455x4, very close to what he used to be able to max out on (495x3)

He should enter a powerlifting meet in the 50+ category, would be a lot more successful there then in bodybuilding.

I think Kevin knows what's best for him. This is about coming back and taking back what's his. He has nothing left to prove to forum keyboarders.

    1. While his training clips are impressive, this isn't the smartest way to train especially for a guy well in his 50s. Why not do sets of 10 with 3.5 plates and get the same results, maybe better ones, while not risking injury?

    2. Taking back what? I don't get it. He's not going to be a top 3 guy like back in the day, I doubt he'll even be top 30. He will not be winning an IFBB show, let alone the Sheru.

    3. I agree with this part, he has nothing left to prove and he will prove nothing by winning nothing.

500 lb 1 rep max bench. God damn this man would be a world class powerlifter in his weight and age group.

3 platesx10 on behind the neck press

    Really impressive as well.

The shoulder press is impressive, but behind the neck is very taxing on your front rotator cuff.

Ruhl did 6x frontpress with 500 lbs

Hey, it would be great if athletes didnt age and we could bring back Kevin, Lee Priest, Flex, and other contenders from the past.

But time doesnt work that way.

I'm not sure I understand your point. The three you just mentioned have or are doing shows recently. Lee looked phenomenal in his comeback. Levrone was fighting injuries during his so he didn't have a proper prep. Make no mistake, he WILL be winning a show this year. Flex is back as well. Different division, but he has a list, and is taking names.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kevin won a show this year. If people look at pics, his upper body from the front and side was bigger in 2016 than in 2003, forearms aside. Back wasn't too far off either. The legs I doubt will be close to his prime but will almost certainly be improved from last year...yes, squats do make a difference. So I don't think he will look bad and can win a smaller show. Looking forward to seeing him either way.

So I don't think he will look bad and can win a smaller show. Looking forward to seeing him either way.
I disagree. His upper body from the front and side looked the same size as in 2003, just more vascular and with looser skin. Pecs also deflated and droopy. Forearms have melted. Waist looked like it gained 4 inches in size. Back was pretty close as well but again I don't know why he has those weird lumps on his mid-lower back. His upper body won't be much bigger and his legs marginally so. I'm willing to bet my 1 mil+ house he will not win the Sheru (show he's looking to do) at decent odds of course. Regarding a small show, I doubt he could win even that. Johnnie Jackson would destroy him. Front and side upper body would be close, back would be a blowout, even legs would favor Johnnie.

Different division, but he has a list, and is taking names.
Lee was 41 in 2013 for his comeback, that's prime time in bodybuilding assuming you're not chemically burnt out or injured. Look at Phil, Dex, Shawn and Kai; all of them are around that age. Big difference between 41 and 52. Flex will be a mess this year, even moreso than Levrone. Levrone actually looks good in pics, just not on stage. Flex is a mess in pics, it will be absolutely cringe to watch him. He will be eaten alive by Arash, Bumstead, Breon etc. If he makes top 10, it'll be due to politics and politics only. Regarding Levrone, you already know how I feel so there's no point in going into that again.

Pretty much. I would have loved to see Bjorn Borg vs Nadal at the French. Or Jordan's bulls against 2017 GSW. Bottom line, we can only hypothesize about the results

For the record, I think what Kevin has done is admirable. He's the most jacked 50+ year old on the planet with insanely impressive lifts. But he just doesn't belong on stage anymore, he simply doesn't; last year's Olympia is living proof of that. For those that think his legs were the only reason why he couldn't place top 10, than you're either a fanboy or somebody who hasn't really followed the sport for very long. He's had a chance to relive his youth by stepping on stage one more time and lifting like a maniac but at what cost? He tore his pec again and he had to get plasma shots in his knees, if he keeps it up he will end up like Ronnie.

Regarding Flex Wheeler, nothing wrong with working out but taking gear with only 1 kidney? While gear might not be so bad, the "finishers" are the death sentence. In his youth, he had the crazy shape and pop that made him look 240 when he was 220, that won't be the case at 50 something, he will look flat, small, unimpressive.

I do get your view and don't entirely disagree. I think Johnny would most likely beat Kev, back and most likely legs would be better unless Kevin really improves, which I'm hoping for.

I disagree about his waist being bigger for sure. Also pic of his upper body compared to 2002 which was better than his 03 showing for sure:

I'm seeing forearms weaker, but upper arms, shoulders and chest bigger. Also not the best pic to compare waists but it does look smaller in 2016 here. He was also flat in 2016, less so at the finals but still a little flat.

Different angle, he was bigger in 2002. His waist was flat in 2016 but wider for sure.

edit: I made this little comparison, don't know if it's perfectly to scale, but it's a way better comparison than the one above. There's even no legs in the comparison pic to show you that his waist has gotten wider (no legs make the waist look even wider). It's not just the width, look at how faded the abs look even as he's tensing them, and the loose skin on the lower section.

We need FullRom for him to analyze the clavicle to waist ratio lol. Amazing how if you take the midsection out of the equation, his upper body is virtually unchanged in this pose. His forearms may have been better in 2002 and his lats had a bit more flare but he's held up well. He was pretty flat in prejudging so that's why he had more pop in 2002 in his arms, the skin tone was horrible in prejudging. Bottom line at the professional level, even if you're only 5-10% off your best, it can be the difference between 1st and 5th. In this case even if his upper body is 85-90% of what it was apart from the midsection, the midsection and legs are a huge liability. Let's not forget his 2002 showing was already far inferior to his 95-98 look.

Haha yeah we need that red line analysis.. Yeah I see what you mean. I think if he was fuller it would help, but as you said the lats don't have the same flare as 2002, which I think contributes to the waist looking wider. They're close but not there (yet I hope). The faded abs issue though not completely hindering his look, probably won't improve. But I think if he does come in fuller with slight improvements, (pending big improvements on the legs) he could do well at a smaller show.

I know he's not his old self but I just love following his training and seeing him up there again. I don't see him as tarnishing his legacy. When I started following bbing he was already retired but he's my fav bodybuilder and I'd never have thought to see new footage of him training or ever competing again. His strength is so close to his prime which I also find amazingly impressive. And from squatting just 1 plate to 500 pounds for reps within months. Love it.

The training videos are cool, that's why I suggested he sign up for a masters powerlifting competition. He has a 500 lb bench with no arch and can squat 500 lb for reps, I think he could definitely get 600 lb if he wanted.

Looks amazing in selfies and touched up photos but I'm 100% sure he won't look significantly better this year if he does get on stage.

Vegas odds that seem reasonable assuming 10 person lineup:

Levrone to win Sheru (what he's planning on doing)-50:1

Levrone to place top 3 (25:1)

Levrone to place bottom 3 (5:4)

Levrone to place deadlast at the show (2:1)

    Any other result (5:1)

Honestly his waist looks to be about similar size, it's actually really damn small when you really stop and look at it.

It's just the illusion is gone due to everything being down sized and his abs being missing as well. If you don't believe me, just focus in on the Adonis belt and you'll see how truly small it is.

I actually do think he'll look better this year, enough to be respectable on stage (not the O stage but a pro stage), but I still don't think he'll get close to touching old school Levrone. Perhaps if he keeps at it, he may get closer and closer as his genetics are still top notch, but I don't think we'll even see 90% old school Levrone ever again.

Yeah looking through a lot of those pics, his waist isn't much wider, his hips have definitely thickened up though which contributes to the issue, as well as the lack of size and faded abs. His best hope is to get to 1998 size even if it means his conditioning will be off.

He shoulder presses pretty damn heavy with good form. It's amazing how quickly he transforms. He goes from average looking Joe to Olympia competitor in less than a year. I mean... he needs to be studied by scientists.
