Drywall solo install 4x12 sheets is terrible especially when your not a drywall virgin
Tried a panoramic shot didnt work really well
Coming closer taped up
where it sits as of today. forgot to mention the whiteboard door
This seam pissed me off but I'm putting a climbing pegboard-rock wall in this area anyway. Plus its not bad for my first time doing drywall
Im thinking the right wall purple (favorite color) and the others and ceiling grey

I will be heating and cooling it via a split unit heat pump right not there is 2 20 amp circuits for general use and a 15 for the lights and stereo. It is pre wired for 4 ceiling mount speakers, Network-Ethernet and cable
Today's update I picked up the flooring 4' x 6' x 3/4" thick rubber flooring from a gym that closed its doors for 30$ each and they all look new. also got some med balls and stand and some other goodies but that will all be shown when the equipment goes in. Hoping to pick up the paint tomorrow or MondayLiving life for me this time its about me.

Repped.
Looks like you are doing good work. You'll love working out in a space you made with your own hands. I had plans to convert space under my deck to a compact gym space but instead I put a sauna there. Kept the garage gym in the garage. Good luck and keep us updated on your progress.++++++++

Just a question.....did you put in any additional studs in the area where you will be putting the rock wall? I don't think this is strictly necessary, so don't panic if you didn't. I was just curious.
I haven't done any climbing in over 20 years, but if I was going to build an addition to be dedicated gym space, I would totally want to put in a climbing wall too![]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #29 []---[]

Some will disagree, because they are haters, but purple is an awesome color for a home gym. I assume you've looked at the color wheel to see what colors are complimentary to purple?
Also, if you ever put a commercial treadmill in there, you'll need a dedicated 20-amp fuse. You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

There are actually two studs on each side of the main support that I'll be hitting so 4 studs total and a header should be strong enough
I have always been a fan of your gym atty I love purple and grey is just such a neutral color I think it will work well together. Most of my friends think the purple is crazy but I'm not building this for them lol. As far as the treadmill I do actually have a commercial treadmill already that's why I ran two 20 amp circuits lol I just knew I'd need themLiving life for me this time its about me.

Thanks for the kind words, man. Many people here have inspired me to put together a solid home gym and to use it. Alextheman, NorthernMortis, 2MoreJelqz, Keetman, CTGBlue, Iron Will, and some other guys whose screen names I can't remember (and I don't want to list them by their actual names). Good to hear you've learned from others' experience. It definitely saves time and money.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

This is sweet. You really are 'building' a gym here. Looking forward to it.

Haven't been able to "rep" many of you for a year or more...not for lack of trying.

The roof was built first because I had help on that part and none of the walls are load bearing so it didn't matter. It also started in November lol literally the weekend I finished painting the siding two days later the snow came. I was glad to have it dried in for sure

got a bit of painting done today still gotta cut in the edges and now the drywall flaws are more obvious but Im going to live with them
Im thinking the beam at the peak and the wood around the door painting black. Feeling very inspired now very very inspired
Also the can trims will be brighter (85 watt) so yes the light will be more to accomidate the darker paint
Also got a line on a 4'x8' mirror for free and a 3'x5' free also just gotta go get them at some pointLiving life for me this time its about me.
