Just picked up both games and have logged about 15 hours in FO4. I really like it, despite a lot of the negative feedback. Gonna start TW3 soon too, just wondering which was your favorite out of the two? I'll probably only play one or the other for the next few months, just trying to decide which one

Fallout 4 vs The Witcher 3. Which did you enjoy more?

Easily sank 150 hrs into Witcher 3 and its expansions, and probably like 75 hours in Fallout (which makes me cringe to write those numbers out). Witcher 3 has the better narrative, better supporting cast, better story in general, etc. I felt as if Fallout tried a bit too hard to be like the Sims or whatever with the civilization building, and it could really feel repetitive at times. Also, a lot of the trademark elements of FO just weren't there in FO4 (example: you're basically forced to choose between factions, instead of compromising or saying fukk it to all of them). Not to say FO4 wasn't fun, but W3 was the better game imo. YMMV.

no competition...I loved FO4 but TW3 was so much better. Put about 170 hours into FO4 and then all my saves got corrupted due to mods and put about 200 hours into TW3. The difference was, in TW3 all those hours were spent questing in some way, no farming or "busy work". In FO4 youv got base building in over a dozen areas and supplies to collect. Those account for a lot of the hours.

Witcher 3. Better story, more immersed in the game.
Fallout 4 was pretty awesome though. Enjoyed it, but i experienced way too many issues related to fps/vsync and unsynced dialogs that trigerred me.Always pick 4 crew

FO4 was fun, I liked building up my weapons and roaming the wasteland destroying everything. The story was ok.
Witcher 3 on the other hand is easily one of the best games I've ever played. Graphics are phenomenal, story is very deep, and every single side quest is unique. Gwent is addicting too.Misc photography crew

Damn, almost undisputed TW3. Maybe I started the wrong game first lol
Yeah I like to just sneak around, snipe, and collect loot for the most. The side quests on FO4 don't seem as diverse as i remember them on skyrim though. It's almost all "check out this raider base." This is also my first FO game so I'm not sure what to look for I guess
Damn, survival is hardcore. I had it on 'hard' but tbh got really annoyed how many bullets it took to kill some of those guys. Especially legendaries

I cranked it down to normal for now

W3, pretty much no contest. I liked FO4, and I should go back and play with it more now that there's DLC and more mods, but W3 was definitely more fun for me. I always liked the sword/sorcery genre though, so I'm probably a bit biased.

The combat in witcher puts me right to sleep. That's my biggest complaint with the game.
I realize saying that while praising FO4 is stupid. It's just VATS VATS VATS, but it feels lacking to me. Still an awesome ass game. But I just love fallout. **** graphics and all.Last edited by JohnRainbo; 12-31-2016 at 09:57 AM.

nope, which was disappointing for me because i played the witcher 1 and 2 prior to 3 and they all had absolutely nothing to do with each other. the only things you would miss out on is not knowing who some of the characters are(mainly only triss, shani, and vernon roche, which is not a big deal at all; the rest of the characters are exclusive to this game and the novels), and a few minor references as well. but you could look them up as you go.

never played witcher 3, but I'd take it any day over fallout 4.
I just bought skyrim for ps4 the other day, first time playing the game ever, and I can already see so much things that are similar to fallout 4 that it's slowly becoming boring for me.Last edited by Highwind7; 12-31-2016 at 10:35 AM.

W3 any day of the week. Played through it a few times and getting that itch to play again soon. Absolutely loved it. Characters, story, depth of most sidequests/hunts. Just an all around awesome gaming experience. Some will complain about combat, it did feel slow at times, but didnt bother me.
Didnt play FO long at all before i got rid of it. Maybe put in 10 hours or so. Just never got into it.**Georgia Crew**

I liked Fallout better. But then I've been playing since Fallout 1 and really liked the super Americana theme starting in Fallout 3. I also don't mind all the fetch quests you get as I like exploring the wasteland to see what is out there. There are always a lot of visual gags (and sad stories) told with random props in out of the way places. Graphics are definitely subpar to other current games but there are some nice views to be found. The ending shot to Nuka World was really good I thought.

Loved both, but have to say FO4 simply because the apocalyptic setting appeals to me, plenty of RPGs use fantasy (more-so anyways) so it felt more unique.
