So I posted a thread in misc earlier about what belts people use. Don't think misc was the best subforum to post it in.
What belts does everyone use?
I'm going to get one for Christmas and people in misc suggested an Inzer belt to me.
-I'm not sure which one to get.
-How do I decide on whether 10mm or 13mm is for me
-I want to be able to use it for power lifting, olympic lifts, and whatever heavy lift feels appropriate for me.
-My weight fluctuates a decent amount.
Would very much appreciate any thoughts/advice
Thanks!

Did you read the belt thread in the stickies at the top of the forum?

Yes sir - I'm mostly looking for personal experiences/preferences at this point as opposed to general guidelines. That thread definitely helped though. A lot of good advice has actually been posted in my thread on the misc now (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=173146081), so I apologize for the re-post.

I'd either go with a 10mm lever belt from Inzer or 13mm lever (treated leather & no suede) from general leathercraft. Inzer's 10mm is actually more like 11mm and stiff as ****. That's why I recommend 10mm if you plan on buying from Inzer.
Just keep a penny in your gym bag and use that to adjust the lever before lifting. No need for a screwdriver.
For olympic weightlifting, it's better to just buy a separate belt. You'll see most lifters even the ones that compete in the olympics use a velcro belt which you can find for under $20.PRs

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Why do you prefer a lever belt as opposed to a one-prong or two-prong belt? The sticky thread about belts said generally that prong belts > lever belts.
But yeah someone in my other thread commented about how most just use leather belts, if any, for oly lifts. I plan on using my belt for mostly squatting and deadlifting. Also OHP, bench, and heavy power cleans. So I was thinking of getting a one-prong Inzer belt. http://www.inzernet.com/detail_belt....LTS_BUCKLE10MM This one, except one-prong to be exact.

The two favorite belts are the Athlete by Best Belts and a single prong double suede 13mm belt by Pioneer. I've also have had an Inzer 10mm lever and 10mm single prong and a 13mm double prong POS that I bought in 1993.
Reason why I liked the Best Belt and Pioneer the best is that they broke in faster and better than the Inzer (The Athlete belt being pre broken in). The 13mm Pioneer belt was comfortable from day 1 and within 2 weeks just about fully broken in without doing stuff like rolling and bending the belt.
If I ever need to order another belt though, it'll probably be the Prime belt from Best. It's probably the same as the double suede 13mm from Pioneer since both companies use quality sole bend leather but I just like the way Best Belts look more than a Pioneer due to the rivets they use

I have a 10mm lever Inzer and a Cardillio double prong powerlifting belt...
The lever makes it easy to set tight, and release in between sets quickly without having to take it off. The downside to me is that when I go super tight, it's not comfortable for setting up to deadlift... I like it for heavy squats though.
The Cardillio I got through the strap up program where I traded in a crappy velcro belt for $35 off... The adjustable prongs I like since my waist/stomach size fluctuates a good amount... Also, I like it a bit looser on deads. The downside here vs the lever is that it is more of a PITA to take off and on, especially with the double prong.
I like both belts- and both have a place in my routine... if you just get one, I think a prong belt is more versatile/comfortable since you can easily vary the tightness depending on the lift without having to unscrew the lever.||---|| Rogue Barbell Club #31 ||---||

I have an older Inzer lever 13mm (blue suede for Elvis...not really but blue suede). Love it. Shopping today and seeing what others have gotten in this thread I'd likely check out Pioneer and Best Belts too.
Honestly OL is a completely different belt need vs. PL lifts. OLs will often use a tapered leather belt, soft velcro or nothing....note that not a single PL ever uses gear like that, everything is to prevent flexibility and looseness and is large, thick and ultra restrictive. That's a clue.▪█─────█▪ Rogue Barbell Crew #27 ▪█─────█▪

Haven't been able to "rep" many of you for a year or more...not for lack of trying.
