Eh, like I said, it’s just my opinion. I personally just can’t see a heavy winter coat ever being “dressy”.
That’s a decent idea. I have a TNF Thermoball and think it looks pretty sharp. I want a nano-puff, but I just can’t spend that kind of $$$ right now.

Arcteryx Gore tex shell over a heavy fleece, or a medium weight down jacket/sweater.
Canada Goose? Mostly seen on young Asian kids trying to impress each other. BRB paying $700 for a down jacket with no fill listing that isn't box baffled. Yeah, I know my stuff when it comes to this sort of thing.
fate, I am from the Boston area too. This morning I waited over a half hour in that cold waiting for the Orange line. MH down over my hooded sweatshirt over a Champion Vapor shirt. Arcteryx hat and Outdoor Research gloves, was sweating my ass off by the time I got to work.
Invest and wear good hats and gloves too.
Or disregard since you are going for fashion over actually being toasty.Last edited by darkninja67; 11-22-2018 at 06:06 PM.

i am not a canada goose fan but you are wrong. canada goose originally made jackets for people who worked and lived in places like the arctic. They gained reputation for keeping ppl warm in sub zero climates. Then they started making jackets for the mainstream consumer..
If you look at the canada goose site they have heavy arctic jackets...but super expensiveMy mom thinks i'm cool

maybe they used to make decent gear but they are not considered equipment that you take to bag 8000 meter peaks. Sorry but it's a no go.
Again, I am pretty sure they use Canadian sourced down compared to Eastern European or French down which is considered a higher quality down.
Do you ever go out into extreme cold?rumpler of stiltskins

Blows my mind that a brand with Canada in it is getting a lot of press thesedays. The Canucks are shilling hard.
I recommend a good old Columbia multi-layer jacket. It's winter, how stylish do you want to look?
Columbia Jackets (as well as every other outdoors brand) come with inner thermal layer and an external protection layer to block out wind and resist water/ snow.
