I was inspired by a friend who got tons of attention from females(thanks to his physique)to start lifting. And I started weightlifting, everything was going great and then BANG 2 herniated discs ended up with microdisectomy.Fast forward started weightlifting again knowing the risk about re herniating it.But I cant do most of the compound exercises im very weak and skinny fat.Having great physique is my dream but it hurts when u know u re not gonna get it,cause I know like im cursed to not have great body srs.I admit I weightlift for girls cause when I go to night club all my friends get girls but I dont and they all have great physiques but I dont and never will..It sucks being like me being a black sheep,Im very disappointed,I dont know what to do

I find that personality is what gets you girls . Not as much physique unless you're like really overweight ... I can't lift much anymore because of my job & I have two people counting on me to keep a roof over there heads my girlfriend and our four year old . If anything I'd suggest eat a decent diet and use body weight workouts like the Marines or military use . Not only is it a great starting way to get in treamendous shape but is good for your health . If you want more muscle mass this way you can always do "Dips" there's a bunch of variations I used to just add weight over time the easier it got . Best of luck to you . And on the girl thing .. As I said personality is key not being ripped that's a personal benefit for yourself . The hit & quit it game is stupid & immature that lasts only so long . Find a nice girl and maybe you'd have the same interests as her it's better in the long run . As I said best of luck to you . And watch the movies (Rocky) for added motivation the guy went from nothing to becoming a somebody .

What's wrong here is you're working out for girls, not for yourself.Bad deal. Do it for you,not for anyone else,or any dream-when it doesn't happen people give up.You can still do other body parts and work around your injuries-which I hope was not caused by lifting too much in the first place.Get into it and forget girls for awhile,do it for you, make the gym a habit.

You don't need to do compound lifts to get big.
Replace:
Deadlifts with chest supported rows
Squats with Leg press + Leg extension machine
What you need to do:
Have a plan to follow (progressive overload!). Lift regularly. Eat well (count calories). Don't injure yourself.
But first and foremost: Have FUN doing it! Enjoy the ride. Set a goal and split it up into smaller goals.

Some of the ugliest, most out-of-shape guys I've known found it incredibly easy to attract women. It wasn't their bodies. Women appreciate your body after they're involved with you, it's a pleasant bonus. But if you don't have good personality, you'll find it difficult going, regardless of how jacked you are.
It's your inside that needs work -- although you really do need to learn how to take care of your physical system as well, for a lot of reasons other than girls.“Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.”

Yeah ur right, but a good physique would give you a lot of confidence right? And women adore guys who are confident right?Like I said I dont wanna be massive just that superhero look 16-16.5 inch arms 10-12% bf,broad shoulders and good back development, that would give me a ton of confidence, but I think that kind of physique isnt achievable for me

What do you lose by imagining that you do? What do you lose by calmly visualizing success instead of failure?
When in doubt focus on your enjoyment of the training, and support it with good eating and rest, let the gainz come. Just do your part, and let the gainz fall where they may.The most important aspect of weight training; whether for the athlete, bodybuilder, or average person is to better ones health and ability without injury. - Bill Pearl

What helped me when I lost motivation was I focused on HEALTH. Build muscle and burning fat its a great way to have your hormones churning correctly which helps with your well-being and will also give you the kind of confidence that can't be faked. Those little promises that you have to keep everyday to build a good physique will have you feeling better about yourself and girls can sense this. You will get laid before you know it by the girl you WANT. Hope this helps.

Thanks! I've been lifting since 2008, started informing and applying what i read into my training in april 2013 (including tracking calories). I remember that in 2013 i was able to bench about 90kg for 8 and i hit a 200kg conventional deadlift with ****ty form. Glad i didn't hurt myself back then.

Bro i don't think you have to compare yourself to others, it takes time and patience, patience is they key here, sometimes we want to see imeddiately results and that's what that is taking us down, but I can guarantee to you something... if you'll be patience enough to see the first results from your workout, you'll get the motivation you need
