Thought about ordering AH, but I’ve had all the flavors save 20/20 and Nonnas. I’ll wait for two more flavors I haven’t had

I'm not entirely sure. Originally, the order was supposed to arrive yesterday, but it didn't arrive until today.
I don't know Fedex had the ice cream for an extra day or if they received it a day later than they were supposed to.
When I opened the box, there was no sign of dry ice. The "dry ice" bags were empty. You can't help the hopeless.

I didn't see it on the box. Inside the box, I saw two bags of penguin dry ice. The amount wasn't written on the bag.

Picked up two pints today: Tokyo PB&J and the Beet and Humbolt Fog. Still deciding on whether will get one of the others or not. Waiting on someone in apartment to pay the rest of her rent too so working on limited funds. But the two I got look promising. Checked out the pints before putting in freezer. When I'm not still full from Korean bbq, I'll have to scoop some.

I didn't see it on the shipping label. She's responded to my e-mail, so at least the customer service is good so far.
Not exactly premium ice cream but I got a chocolate dip today when I was in New York to visit the MOMA. I don't remember the last time I had one. Was delicious childhood nostalgia. You can't help the hopeless.

Finally looked up Ample Hills. Turns out the LA location is only 20 minutes from where I live. So that needs to happen. Question is: Do I go in the afternoon on the 29th since weigh ins are in the morning? or... Do I go on the 30thonce the meet is finished? hmmmm Decisions, decisions.

They reshipping for free?
After trying more of June S&S Flavors my thoughts for an order are:
Duck Crackling with Cherry Preserves - Order
Tokyo PB&J - Strong Pass
Ras el Hanout & Pickled Rose Petal Jam - Order
Roasted Beets & Humboldt Fog - Order
Jeweled Brown Butter Rice Gelato - Pass
And when I say "Order", be aware that these are still pretty crazy flavor combinations and if you're not a fan of stepping out of your comfort zone, I'd pass altogether this month. Obviously, your mileage may vary, but I love trying new flavors and these were too much for me.New England Patriot

According to your review, the rice flavor wasn't noticeable to you. However, my pint was very strong on the rice flavor. I didn't know how to describe it until someone else said it, but it tasted like burnt rice. The caramel swirl, while very good, couldn't save the pint. Less rice / burnt rice flavor and this one could have been good. I also was not too impressed with the currants. They either weren't very strong or were overpowered by the rice flavor.

dang that's so interesting... i got like zero, zero rice at all...
I agree the currants were a mixed bag: they were squishy to me, but likely due to mine not having the overpowering rice element they were more pleasant.
Seems like scoop-shop vs. pint consistency isn't there for all flavors. Just looking at your Beet pint there was so much more goat cheese... I suppose it makes sense especially in an odd-ball lineup like this that there will be a mix of experiences."When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

Coolhaus Midnight Munchies
When I scooped the first half of this pint, I wasn't all too impressed. However, when I dug back in to finish this bad boy off, things changed pretty quickly.
The base is pretty standard for Coolhaus. It isn't super premium, but premium enough to get the job done. It's creamy, milky, dense and tempers at a normal rate.
Although described as chocolate peanut butter, the base heavily favored only one of these that you can probably tell by just looking at the pictures. Each spoonful was full of milk chocolate flavor that easily overpowered the peanut butter. Some bites I would like to say I noticed some peanut butter on the tail end, but for the most part, this base is straight chocolate.
Pretzels are one of my favorite mixins if made properly. These were both hit and miss. Some were crunchy, while others were a little on the stale side. Some were bare and others were covered in chocolate. Nonetheless, each pretzel provided a nice chew to the pint.
Despite what you might think, the flavor of the pretzels stood out quite a bit. As you finish each bite, a huge amount of saltiness comes through on the back end. This was the perfect addition to the all of the chocolate sweetness from the rest of the pint.
Lastly, it took a while to find the peanut butter cups, but once I did they were very abundant. They immediately begin to melt in your mouth with each spoonful, and finished with a soft chew.
What the base was lacking in peanut butter flavor, the cups definitely made up for. This is exactly what the pint needed to have a better balance of peanut butter and chocolate. Although it was a sweeter peanut butter flavor, the pretzels provided enough saltiness to even things out.
I was having major doubts with this pint at first because of the lack of peanut butter flavor in the base. However, that quickly changed once I began to hit the peanut butter cups and this pint grew on me tremendously the more I scooped. The saltiness of the pretzels are what makes this pint a must scoop and cracks my top 3 for Coolhaus flavors. B+I.C.E.D.
