Does the pancake flavor actually have scrambled eggs in it? That sounds kind of gnarly.

I like the sound of the s'mores flavor, but I have too much ice cream in my freezer to justify ordering any until like November, well at the rate I'm eating it.

I think they use egg yolks somehow in the swirl component but I’m not sure. I don’t think it’s actually pieces of it

I don't eat bacon so that was a no-go for me... but im grabbing those other two today. Should be fun to compare the cornbread flavor to Corn to Run from AH.

Also just noticed that Salt & Straw now actually lists calorie counts per serving for some of their flavors on the website.

Oddfellows is going to start shipping nationwide on Friday. I said I wouldn't order anything for a couple of months, but depending on the price ...

$80 for the pack and $40 shipping to Atlanta for me. Not bad for six pints. I’m skipping but a good look for later packs.

I went with the $70 classics and it was only $15 to ship to NJ, so I went for it.

They also had interesting toppings. I added some to my cart, but I couldn't actually order them.

^^It sounds good. I heard good things about the Haagen Daas Irish cream + Brownie, so I grabbed a pint as it was on sale.

Managed to finish my homemade mint chip pint. Slowly, I'm making my way through the ice cream horde in my house.

Looks like Apple-themed flavors this month. Two of them sound decent.... I'll probably try a scoop of each and report back.

    S&S: Apple Harvest Series

    Beecher's Cheese & Apple Pie

Proof apples and cheese belong together. Swirls of magically gooey, cinnamon-y traditional apple pie filling partner with ultra-flaky crisps of buttery pie crust. The star of the show: Beecher’s Flagship Cheese, made by our dear friends in Seattle, is gently melted into cream to provide an almost nutty, salty ice cream.

Applesauce Cake w/ Cream Cheese Frosting
Baking applesauce straight into your cakes is an old-school technique that only your grandma could teach you. The applesauce gives the cake a tender, moist texture that is almost unheard. We generously frost the cake with whipped cream cheese and fold them into a salted apple ice cream.

    Hopped Apple Cider Sorbet (v)

Revival Hard Apple Cider from Portland-based Reverend Nat’s is one of the greatest Fall treasures to come out of the PNW. We simply load their cider into our ice cream machines and allow the magic of the fermented apples & mosaic hops to carefully coalesce into sorbet magic.

I have only tried the chocolate chunk from Oddfellows so far. It's a bit rich even for me, I love chocolate. Bet it would go great with some whipped cream.

Will try the coffee crunch next.

    Already place mine dude.

Even tho my stomach doesn’t react too well to full fat dairy... bro... once you try the graham crunch that panna makes... you will die a happy man... it is the nectar of the gods.

They seriously make the best mix-ins in the game IMP, and their owner is extremely friendly too. On my last order I ordered the optional extra bag of graham crunch and it was WELL worth it. It’s basically a huge bag of buttery, sweet, crunchy graham clusters that go well on basically everything.

Even tho I have to pace myself with it because I can only tolerate so much... man... if you wanna taste some of the best ice cream you’ll ever have, this is it.

And you’re right with this pack... usually there’s 1-2 in a pack that sounds kind of ‘meh’ and just makes the cost hard to justify... but this line up doesn’t seem to have a single bum flavor option.

They do sound good. I still have some of my fan favorites pack, so I will not ordering another pack, but I may get one of their ice cream cakes for my birthday next month.

They do seem to keep the packs up there for a while, so you could always wait a bit.

I've noticed they actually improved their mix-in quality control recently, not that it was ever an issue really, but they seem to be really loading them.

So just out of curiosity and for my knowledge...

When you have a premium ice cream like Salt & Straw for example, how do you account/calculate the calories for the pint? A Serving would equate to how many grams/calories?

I found a local shop and it seems that they're premium! Just no calories etc...

A flavor that they have, for example, is:

    Super Dulce de Leche
we infuse our Dulce de Leche ice cream with homemade chocolate brownie pieces and fresh swirls of Dulce de Leche

Of course, many other brilliant sounding flavors as well.

    Cheers,

Do people seriously by premium ice cream and weigh out grams on a scale?

So in your opinion in order to 'stay on track' you have to weigh and measure everything you eat?

BRB weighing and tracking my wedding cake.

If you seriously needed to weigh EVERY single thing you eat, which is ridiculous to me, then just look for similar flavors of Ben & Jerry's and use that

Aren't you the same person who showed CLEAR signs of obsession over tracking and nutrition/diet neuroses in the Eating Disorder thread?

I recall helping and advising you on NUMEROUS occasions because you constantly reverted back to 'HAVING' to track and measure and micromanage.

You previously thanked me for helping you, and now you're back months/years later saying I'm being condescending for addressing the clear chronic issues with your relationship with food?

Yeah, clearly it's me who needs to 'get a grip'.

    Piss off.

If I need to plug it in and it's super premium I just use B&J Peanut Butter World as a template. I figure about as dense as you are going to get in the supermarket so it might be a shade over but in range.

I still see your reviews on IG. Hope you are doing well mate.

He might just go with a half a pint, quarter of a pint, etc. to have a range even on a free meal. That not unreasonable at all.

I'm simply going off my experience knowing his past tendencies and speaking from experience as someone who has struggled with major food/tracking issues before.

To each their own I guess... I just hate seeing people struggle with the same problems year in and year out.

Also, I actually think you need to keep the TYPE of flavor in mind when figuring calories.

For example, Salt & Straw recently started posting nutrition info on their pints, and I was surprised that many of them actually hover around the 1000 cal/pint mark... as opposed to say 1200-1300 for something like highest B&J's.

I think it comes down to the mix-ins... if there's TONS of peanut butter, dense brownies, etc, that cranks up the calories.

If it's a simple base flavor with a light swirl and especially if there's fruit in it, that often LOWERS the cals/volume because the mix-ins are actually less calorie-dense than the base itself.

That's why I just try to think of a comparable B&J's pint and use that...

I won't pretend to know the depth of his issues. He's been around since I have been here and always came across as a good guy. Either way I still contend that he may not be going as far as weighing and just using something to get in range for a free meal for example.

Of course you can focus into characteristics of the pint depending on how close you feel you need to be.
