Got an e-mail back from Goldbely. They said they would look into the QC issues, and noted that I would be receiving an e-mail later today referencing future orders.
Perhaps the e-mail will shed some light on Little G's entire inventory being listed as "Out of Stock"? Wonder if my Aug 3rd order is now cancelled...
Will post more when I hear more.

crpav, you are perfectly entitled to complain about her pricing...and this is coming from an "ice cream elitist" as you once described us in Rob's thread.
Her quality is inferior to Ample Hills, Graeter's, Salt & Straw, and Clementines to name a few. What you are paying extra for is the "artisan" nature; as in, the fact that these are made with the same technology and level of organization as an elementary school project might be. If that is not worth it to you nor does her story make your heart palpitate, of course, pass. But, don't expect the busy pint aspect to change because that is essentially her differentiating factor; take away the mix-in density + decadent swirls and you literally have almost nothing.
I've paid because I'm a reckless pig with sufficient funds, but it is perfectly understandable that others like Partyrocking as well would pass. And yet they can still opine, because despite what you former knights might have been led to believe these problems have always been present in her products. Now, it has just reached a climax.

August Farmer’s Market Series
Our local farmers market is the beating heart of our food community. Every week, you’ll find Portland’s top chefs, bakers, cookbook authors, food critics, and home cooks elbow to elbow with star farmers, ranchers, fishers, and culinary artisans. It’s impossible to escape the piles of rainbow carrots, curly kale, fresh berries, and fragrant herbs without being inspired to whip up a menu of locally sourced flavors, so we dedicate one month a year to the fruits and vegetables that give us a true sense of place. We partner with local farms to put the spotlight on their unique ethos and practices, imagining a farm tour through our region without leaving the ice cream shop—and manage to get thousands of people to eat their veggies in ice cream form!
Carrot Cake Batter & Pralined Hazelnuts
An excuse to have your (carrot) cake and eat it too. Have you ever kind of wanted to eat cake…or, wanted to eat ice cream… but then thought, nah, I should eat vegetables. Well we’re here to say you can have it all. This ice cream is brimming and dense. We roast super-sweet carrots with spices and molasses, then add vanilla and cream to make a frozen carrot cake batter without the flour. We then pipe in liquid cheesecake and handfuls of pralined hazelnuts for creaminess and crunch. We can’t promise this ice cream will satiate your daily nutritional requirements but can promise that it will satiate your daily yummy-ness requirements.
Zucchini Bread with Chocolate Freckles
Yummmm, zucchini bread. The destitute destiny of all that zucchini we so ambitiously planted in early spring. Our zucchini bread ice cream is lavishly packed with cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg layered with massive hunky hunks of tender zucchini bread and a buckshot of tiny freckles of single-origin, Portland roasted chocolate. We love this ice cream for the sheer ingenuity of something so basic yet so darn delicious.
Green Fennel & Maple
Woah, these fennel bulbs are so plump they’ll make you blush! Fresh fennel is slowly steeped in Vermont maple syrup. The maple syrup we use in this ice cream is pretty unique because Morse Farms in Vermont has been in the family for over 200 years! We’ve tasted a lot of maple syrup in our days, and this is the best!
Aquabeet Sorbet
Beets are the new sugar cane when it comes to agricultural sweetness, so it’s no wonder local beets make a phenomenal base for a summer sorbet! We grate piles of gorgeous ruby beets with sugar to draw out their natural juices, then blend the blood-red veggies with Aquavit, a deliciously complex Scandinavian-style liqueur from Portland’s House Spirits. The earthy sweetness of the beets pairs perfectly with the spirit’s notes of star anise and caraway for a refreshing combo of warmth, spice, and terroir.

How did you find that ^^^
Also, is that correct with only 4 flavors this month?
Lazy, if that's the line up for S&S, would you recommend S&S or Clementine's?
Here is the other flavor:
Caramel Corn on the Cob
Golden sumptuousness. We lightly sautee fresh corn kernels in a bit of salted brown butter, juice the kernels and add a bit of cream… allowing the sweetness of the corn to be the star of the show. The resulting ice cream is voluptuous in flavor and seductive in color. Tender ribbons of caramel find themselves drizzled into this ice cream; not to interfere with the corn-y flavor but to only help the ice cream melt in your mouth just a little faster.
EDIT: All of those flavors are last year's flavors...Last edited by Tyler2106; 07-25-2017 at 12:22 PM.

OK, I know a fraction of what you all know about ice cream, but I do live in Handel's hometown and visit Graeters anytime I'm in Columbus or Cincinnati.
That said, Handels currently has one of their summer flavors in stock that is one of the best I've ever had.... blueberry cobbler. It's easily one of their best, right behind dutch apple pie that they put out in the fall.
It has real bits of blueberry cobbler in the ice cream including chunks of crust-like goodness.
I STRONGLY recommend it for anyone putting in a Handels order, but hurry because it doesn't last long.

Yes you are right. I am also surprised you read that thread and remember that. I hope you know I was more kidding as well as maybe a bit upset while I typed it but in the end I was joking more than anything. I must confess, I ranted today and in the past but at the end of the day I probably will still order anything and everything because I love ice cream and if new I don't care I'll order it to try despite the price(well within reason).

I didn't see Blueberry cobbler as an option on the website. Maybe you can order it if you call, but IDK. I'm almost out of freezer space anyway, so I should probably pass.
I have to say, I did not like the Graeters s'mores flavor. I wanted to like it. The marshmallows were nice and gooey and the chocolate chunks were dark, which is my favorite, but the base tasted stale to me. I mean graham crackers kind of taste stale anyway, but the base was overpowering with its staleness. You can't help the hopeless.

You must try the dutch apple pie in the fall. Such a home run.
Rychea...gotchu
EDIT: The Graeters you can get in a grocery store is NOT the same. I've never had it shipped, but I can attest that getting it fresh from location is a totally different ice cream than what you find on a shelf.Last edited by Mortar34; 07-25-2017 at 01:14 PM.

I don't think Blueberry Cobbler is a flavor they ship. Handels only ships certain flavors I believe...
Shocked you didn't care for Graeters S'mores. Was it a pint or from the scoop shop? My scoops from the shop were phenomenal.
Is that the same as Deep Dish Apple Pie? I got it last year and had them throw in a caramel swirl. Was hnnnnggggg
EDIT: just got the email from Goldbely.
Effective immediately, all Little G orders are cancelled due to QC issues.
From Goldbely:
Important Information About Little G Ice Cream
The team at Little G informed us that they are experiencing growing pains due to the sudden increase in popularity of their product. For this reason, they have decided to suspend shipping operations for a limited time to address some production issues and improve their quality control practices.
Little G has requested we cancel and refund all remaining orders for the summer to the original form of payment. They simply don’t feel they can deliver the high quality product their brand set out to build at this time. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Although disappointing, we believe that allowing them some time to adjust their operations will be for the benefit of all.
If you purchased your item with a Gilt City voucher, we are currently working on restoring the value back onto your voucher. We will follow up in the next few days with specific instructions on how to redeem this on a new item.
Dear Little G Customers,
First off, we would like to thank you for your patronage. Your loyalty and enthusiasm have been overwhelmingly amazing. Within the last 18 months since we began, Little G has grown much faster than anticipated. Pressured to keep up with the flood of orders, we expanded production too quickly and have made some missteps in the last two months. We fully recognize that there have been issues with quality control and execution with online orders and this is completely unacceptable. We take full responsibility for the problems and are deeply sorry. With that said, we have cancelled pending orders and decided to temporarily stop shipping while we revamp our process. You should receive a refund from Goldbely shortly.
We wouldn't be here without you and thank you for sticking by us during these growing pains. Don't worry; Little G will be back soon and better than ever.
Sincerely,
Grace + the Little G teamLast edited by SOH11; 07-25-2017 at 01:42 PM.

That makes sense. I didn't see blueberry cobbler when I looked at the online order form.
I ordered the smore's pint online; sounds like it would have been way better if I could have gotten it from the shop. It's not the end of the world. I liked the other flavors in my order.
IDK what will happen with the Goldbely vouchers. If they give you a new one (which they should), you could get bbq instead. That's what I did with my coupon. You can't help the hopeless.

Shocking news. Had been told that all who complained were liars...must be a lot of liars out there I guess.
*sniff sniff*
Haven't had the privilege of consuming these, but IIRC ugasar said that they aren't anything special (although there seems to have once existed a fantastic carrot cake ice cream by them). Considering this, if you order Clementine's bests, then pound for pound the Clementine's order should be superior.
However don't be tempted by too many of her offerings, I'm only willing to "endorse":
1) S'mores.
2) Salted Crack.
3) Gingerbread Love.
4) Gooey Buttercake.
...and fortunately all seem to be available in the drop down menu when you select a pack of pints. Best move will be to literally call her up. She is extremely helpful, willing to discuss/answer questions, and can aware you of any other flavors that are in stock which might not be reflected on the website.
Any of those above, I'd gladly order multiple units.
Aware. Good post mane. They seem to use a "blueberry jam" and the same cookie bits used in the pie flavors (plus the Twix one).
Thoughts on the good-bro fav 7-Eleven pint? Enjoyed the Graeter's pint myself but it's not among my favorites from their line-up either.

Haven't had the 7/11 s'mores yet. I never go there anymore, but there is one near me, so I'll get around to it eventually.

Assuming that $10 is worth the spend for you I can vouch for Coffee Toffee Caramel and Maple Oatmeal Cookie Dough. I haven't had the others. Fair warning these are not top tier flavors for her brand but they are good IMO. I would re-scoop both and I have an additional Maple in my freezer in that regard. Both pints didn't have quality issues FWIW.

After seeing Salt and Straw's August line up, I'll be ordering from Clementine's. These flavors are at the top of the order list. Hopefully get it ordered before next Monday since they ship on Mondays. I'm pretty excited.
Just checked, $94 for 4 pints shipped. Hope they're worth it.Last edited by Tyler2106; 07-25-2017 at 06:14 PM.
