Yesterday wasnt my best day. I get scared that it isnt really fixable, and that I may never get a shot at heavy lifting again. My anxiety-brain really gets the best of me sometimes

I hope the recovery specialist will help. If not, I may just use coach for upper body, and diet- and work in leg work at my own pace.

Z seemed to enjoy the trick or treating we did with M&A on sat. I think it was a bit overwhelming at first, but she really soaked up the sights. Those folks dont mess!!!!

I should have called this 12 Weeks Total Health History

Dentist was amazing! I went in for an upper tooth that has been giving me the worst time. Hurts with pressure, heat, and cold. I figured it was from the new composite fillings, and because it was so deep...I had gone in twice to adjust my bite post fill, but nothing changed. So I had given up hope of relief for a while, other than yanking it out myself. She even noted the issues with my night grinding, bad bite, TMJ, and has offered me several options regarding treatment with her. TREATMENT! Not just fill and go. My teeth have been so bad these past years that it almost drove me nuts...so it was a relief having some one hear me and WANT to help fix me.

She also suggested I may have sleep apnea would explain my insomnia, and persistent fatigue. She said it is anatomical- high palate, narrow air ways, and it can be a real hindrance to solid sleep. I had no idea 'young' people got it.

Tomorrow I see a different kind of tooth doc. They will do an MRI of my head, and assess whether or not I need a root canal. Bleh. My dentist said my previous dentist should have used a pulp cap on my deep fillings, especially considering my sensitivity and difficulty getting numb.

Lord, I feel like I sound like a hypochondriac up in here...but it is what it is. I just dont have anyone else to talk to about this stuff.

Glad the medical stuff is getting fixed. Just noticed your location is Zimbabwe, and I'm embarrassed to say I have no idea where that even is lmao. Whenever I see medical procedure stuff I'm thinking oh man those bills after insurance are probably gonna be awful. Have had a few MRIs in my time, always is like $800 out of pocket AFTER insurance, biggest scam of all time. And what I pay per month for insurance now is around the same amount I paid monthly to rent a small apartment when I was younger. It's out of control over here.
    Current PRs:
    Bench Press: 200x1
    Deads: 315x1
    Back Squats: 275x1

Take it from this married old geezer- do your mobility work!! Plus, it starts to feel really good hahahaha!

Tell me about it. I have been broke for so many years that I never went to the dentist. Went when I finally had insurance but had, like, issues, then went with the cheapest procedure possible.

So I hope this is a happy ending to a long, bad, story!

    It is in Africa!

Oh I feel ya. At one point, before I knew better, we were paying rent for just my daughters and my ins. 1400.00 a month. I was not obese, had no pre existing conditions, non smoker, no health issues, robbery!!! It is insulting to have to pay so much for a basic need, then having to pay so much on top of that 'insurance'. We found a much lower rate- but its still stupid for what is. Wa state was also stupid expensive in general. Not sure FL is much cheaper really. Poop.

But with a bad bite, and grinding, I will crack teeth = implants = tens of thousands of dollars. So I have to grab ankles now or later and pay money I dont really have to fix something I already paid to fix.

I was guessing you were from Alaska with your work ethic. Thats a compliment from me btw.

    *Later That Day.

Endodontist was a nice guy. Not sure why I was referred to his office, but whatever. Initially they just had me down for a MRI and consult, which annoyed me because I felt like I was paying a lot and still suffering.

I am not good at showing pain or anxiety in normal ways. So he was surprised to see how bad my tooth was. It had carried on up into my jaw bone, and could have gotten real ugly real fast.

I do suffer from pretty bad general anxiety, but manage it the best I can. Dentist visits have become a terrible trigger for attacks, and I normally just shake and sweat in peace- most dont even notice. But today after the 4 numbing shots (which hurt more because of my tooth) I began to tremble, and then felt the urge to cry becoming unbearable. Id rather shave off my eyebrows than cry in public. But there I was, crying, getting a rubber dam put in. Totally embarrassing...but sometimes you just cant be in control. I am still not sure what to make of the situation.

I took the RX for pain meds, Ill never fill it, but its nice to have. That chit freaks me out- pain is normal, weird pills give me the creeps.

At some point I am going to have to start standing up for myself. Its not in my head, and I shouldnt just live with it because I am too embarrassed to go in again.

Good lord, yeah that is INSANITY!! Yeah definitely gotta get that fixed. Dental pain is some of the worst pain I've ever felt - can't eat, can't sleep, can't lift, can't even sit in peace and be comfortable. Aww thanks girl. I'm sure you know and I don't know if it helps, but you're certainly not the only person with that problem. Dental stuff freaks me the hell out, I hate everything about it. I hate not having personal space and always feel like they're gonna choke me out or drop that sharp pointy thing and kill me, ugh! You just gotta own it, I give zero fuks about being embarrassed about it. I know I don't like it, they know, and they do their best to be nice about it and get it done and over with quick. But yeah I'm one of many people they see who hates everything about it.

I try to think about it from their point of view too. If I was a doc and somebody was so freaked out they were literally in tears, man I would feel horrible about that and just try to get it done quickly and without incident for them. There are people who can't handle needles, the sight of blood, etc, it's a human thing, no need to feel weird about it. Go back, get it done, deal with it however you have to, these guys have seen it all.

I am glad we crossed bb.com paths again. Thank you for taking the time to reply like you did. I will channel the Hamm next visit, 0 total fooks given, and just be thankful its over!

Of course the awesome physical therapist is $$ as hell. But very reasonable if its a short term thing that will pay off for years.

So I am thinking of using him for my training, and keeping my other coach just for diet. It is very hard to correct my issues over the phone and with you tube videos. I learn from watching an example then doing it with minimal coaching- in person.
He will also do soft tissue work, mobility, and appropriate strength training.

Lets just say my hubs isnt thrilled at the idea of spending more money on a coach. He thinks I am capable on my own, because I went to college for this, spent years in it....but i am clueless with injury rehab, and how to fix things.

Weight is the same. So now I know my food will go bye bye. I need something to change. But I will continue to be patient...this is only 2 weeks out of 3 years of neglect. Hello!

The Honeymoon is OVER, Time to push on...

New plans are so shiny and exciting, no? For the first 2 weeks its full speed ahead, invincible!!!
Then its not so fun anymore weighing out your cabbage slaw, and pondering if you should count mustard.

So I had a bit of a lapse, but and back in again.

Today was my first PT session. I will be meeting with him 2x a week. Main focus is hip mobility. I arch my lower back, due to weak abs and lack of glute activation, and its causing all sorts of hell. So basically I am learning to move again. I was really struggling with the cost of it, trying to find a reason to back out, but today put my fears to rest. Smart guy.

There are a few other aspects of my life that I am taking control over, and I expect big things as an outcome!

Reading "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**K". Its not for those who are language sensitive, but probably one of the most amusing self help/ not self help books Ive ever read.

    NEW PLAN:

    1740 cals
    175 C
    125P
    60F

2x TRX typ training a week, possible leg press/ non jumping bw moves
    2x PT

No cardio Rxed due to intensity of job.

Lets ride this out, lets see what happens when I dont throw in the towel because Im not 'perfect'.

Hope you all are having a fabulous Tues! Glad this election is almost over....what a mess!!!

I have always found great value in going to a physical therapist to explain how things work and why imbalances exist and how to correct them. I wish I could use the yearly PT sessions on my insurance without having to be injured to get approved for that. When I have been in that I try to steal info from other people around and listen/watch about what others are doing for knees/backs/elbows, very valuable information.

Ladies I am still working out my funk.

I have been sticking to PT and my diet, but not so much with training. I just feel drained by all the uproar and with my new job. Aint no desk job, thats for sure. 2 nights next week I am off at 10pm, 2 other nights I am off at 830pm, then one 730 pm on sunday (time and a half so whatever, work me).

Just trying to keep my daughter stimulated with outdoor activities and kids her own age, converse with my Eric for a few mins without the little one being crazy, get in PT, work FT, measure all my food and self daily, input data, listen to waves of negativity, shower and shave because you cant get away with fur down here in FL

I can not cope with adulting wahhhhh!!!

Hope you all are doing well! I will try to catch up with your lives!

So tracking is soul sucking. I dont know how people do it, or how I used to do it.

    I hate weighing daily.
I hate weighing food, logging food, then logging it again on my tracking chart.
I hate having 2 people trying to guide me, because I respect both.

I need to pick which one to follow.

    Any thoughts?

Eat a 'clean' diet sans sugar and booze, and no measure/ weigh log
    OR
Continue on my 12 week plan and just suck it up buttercup

PT was great. Woke up Friday unable to lift my right leg. The hip flexor was pissed.
Lots of martial arts stretching, PNF stretches, foam rolling, and a bit of deep tissue.

Did a circuit of plants with alt leg lifts // plate loaded rows // Squats with a slow descend and quick up!

i wish i could help you choose which to do.

you have to decide which route will bring you the most joy, in short term and in long term.

squats always bring joy, so yes to those!

    Okay folks.

Diet and PT have been spot on. Down another 1.5 lbs this week, so yay!!!

Work has been nuts. Getting used to be being insulted on the daily for things that I wasnt aware existed, but I am told this is acceptable behavior from our N snowbirds. I am not sure when treating employees like garbage became okay.

Even the employees seem cold...but I guess that it typical of this area. So many transient people, so little trust or connection.

I am ready to move. Done.

Its not cheaper here, and I am going to need some help with Z. Yes, we can do it alone, but I think having a bit of family would be nice. Considering Utah. Humm.

PT is still great. But I just cannot keep up with the other training. Not yet, my body is fatigued.

Going to try meditation on positives, and on deflecting the cruel comments of people who have no joy in their hearts to give. I dont know what is going on in their lives....hate what made the monster, thats the scary part.

Some people really hate tracking cals/macros so if you truly hate it I wouldn't force it. However here are some things you can do to make it easier on yourself...

-With foods I eat often in varying quantities (bread, chicken, deli meat, fruit, veggies) I went to the FitDay website ONCE and typed in 100 grams for each of those foods. Then I wrote down all the macros on a note card like in spreadsheet form. I have that card on my fridge. So now if I eat 117g ham one day I just take the card and multiply all the macros for ham by 1.17, and there you go, not gonna get it any closer than that. I'm at the point where I unintentionally memorized most of the per 100g amounts so I can easily do 150g and 200g in my head.

-Get a really good food scale (got mine on Amazon for like $12 but it's the tits) and stick it somewhere convenient in your kitchen so minimal effort is needed to use it (don't put it away in a cabinet or something.)

-Track daily macros in a spiral notebook, use one pg per day. And if you eat the same stuff every day it gets really easy because you can just flip back a couple pages to copy the macros for the cereal or protein bar you eat all the time.

So basically use organization, math, and convenience to your advantage. But if you are somebody who hates math and just hates this kind of thing in general, then don't, you'll still be fine. It should never be a miserable experience to better yourself or your health.

Stupid choices lol! I guess I should explain that I gripe a lot, but follow through. Its like I have an inner toddler I have to convince to do the right thing

    That is genius!

Which scale. E got me the one that is not digital, and it is horribly inaccurate!

I agree! I hope I can go down to 1x a week weigh in, because the fluctuations make me bonkers!

    Thank you Hammy!!!

Down a total of 5 lbs since 3 weeks ago!!! Feeling really motivated by this, because it wasnt happy muscle weight.

Gave up wine 2 weeks ago. I could fit it into my carb/fat count, but nothing was changing!!! I knew what it was, but it was my precious lol. I am not sold on cals in cals out. But the weight is coming off now, I am sleeping better, and I feel more clear headed.

Work has been brutal. The other night I could barely lean over, my lower back was so stiff from standing and lifting 8 hrs in a row! I am working 9 days straight, all 8s...and I am not conditioned for this yet!! Yikes! I swear I walk 4-6 miles a day!

So I am staying the course with my macros, continuing PT, and getting at home functional training, because more physical activity sounds about at appealing as a lobotomy with a red hot poker

Food too is hard to cram down. How many of you can eat when you are stressed? My stomach clenches up- and its hard to eat fast on a 15 or 30 min break.

All in all feeling positive this week.

Got a salt lamp, some pretty stones to line the shelf above my computer, and am diffusing essential oils....ommmmmm!!!
Got sour kraut fermenting, and some ginger pear kombucha in the laundry closet lol!!!

    I have this one:
    https://smile.amazon.com/Ozeri-Digit...ds=ozeri+scale

I see from my purchase date it has lasted 2 yrs so far. It's digital, really good on batteries, and very accurate, just put it into grams and you're good. I only weigh myself a couple times a week generally cause the gym has that huge dog scale that the vet has and I love standing on it cause it's huge and very cool. Then again I'm a chick who if I'm under 160 I'm all like "EAT ALLLL THE ROTISSERIE CHICKENS!!!" so I understand I'm a bit "special" when it comes to these things.
    Current PRs:
    Bench Press: 200x1
    Deads: 315x1
    Back Squats: 275x1
