    Starting Keto

    Hi guys,

I'm planning to start a Keto diet in the next week or so. I am 6'0, and currently weigh 86 Kilos with somewhere around 17-20% bodyfat, and am hoping to lose around 5-10 Kilos in the next three months. I do heavy weights 5 times a week for 50mins, and will add in an extra 40mins for cardio when the diet starts. After a week and a half of 2500kcal per day, I will drop a meal and bring calories down to around 2000/1900. I'm just a beginner, so if you could give me any advice on the meal plans I have set out below, I'd be really appreciative.

    Meal Plan 1:
Breakfast - Bacon Egg Spinach and Heavy Cream Omelette - 516 46/23/1.1 (Kcal f/p/nc)
    Snack - 50g Almonds - 289 25/10/4
    Lunch - Salmon Sesame Fillet - 350 24/33/4
Linner - Mixed Leaf Pine Nut and Bacon Salad - 478 37/17/4.3
Dinner - Sirloin Steak and Cabbage Coleslaw 881 - 70/51/2.5

    Total - 2514 Kcal, 202g fat - 134g protein - 16g net carbs

    Meal Plan 2:
Breakfast - Bacon, Egg, Chive and Cheese Omelette - 463 39/24/1
    Lunch - BBQ Chicken Soup - 487 38/24.5/4
Linner - Mackerel Fillet and Avocado with Lemon Dressing - 762 73/27/5
Dinner - Chicken Wings with bacon jammed broccoli and spinach - 608 43/42/6
Snack - Protein Shake with Coconut Milk and Water - 291 18/28/1.6

    Total - 2611 Kcal, 212g fat - 146g protein - 17g net carbs

    Meal Plan 3:
Breakfast - Egg, Bacon Heavy Cream and Spinach Omelette - 539 48/27/1.5
    Snack - 20g Macadamia nuts, 4 slices roast beef - 360 29/23/0.6
    Lunch - BBQ Chicken Soup - 487 38/24/4.2
Linner - Tuna Steak with Mixed green Salad - 506 30/31/4
    Dinner - Pork Flaxseed Tortilla - 600 58/27/3

    Total - 2492 Kcal, 203g fat - 133g protein - 13.6 net carbs

    Thanks for the help!

your meal plans look fine but are you sure you can deal with the boredom of only 3 different meal plans recycled over and over again and the hard work of preparing 4-5 meals a day.

If the answer to both of those questions is yes then I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I premake several of the meals and also combine some, so time is not much of an issue. I know what you mean about the repitition though. I see how this diet could get boring quickly, have you any suggestions for good meals aside from what Ive listed?

    Thanks for the advice!

Check out my keto log that I put up all my meals and macros, as well here's a list of keto staples I put together in another thread.

I also use high fat mince to cook burger pizza or meatza as some call it, basically pizza ingredients with a burger patty replacing the pizza base

Thai currys are super easy to make and super delicious

    Heaps of eggs and bacon

If you can find proper cypriot haloumi it is absolutely amazing pan fried (like saganaki)

Lindt 85% choc with peanut butter is amazing

I also love cashew nuts to snack on

I'd eat more veggies and nuts myself. Veggies can add a bit more variety.
