I'm 22 and never really worked out in my life. I'm very unfit but want to make a change but whenever I do lifts or anything my upper back aches for hours sometimes up to a day. I have never injured my back before and I stretch and warm up before I do anything, I also don't do any heavy lifting since I'm just starting out so I don't know what the issue is. I don't know how I can strengthen my back if it aches like this everytime.
Will it get better or is there anything I can do ?
EDIT: Yeah it's almost 5am and I can't sleep because my back is hurting no matter how I lay. I lifted some tiny ass weights a few times and now this :/

Are you muscles sore? Or are you feeling pain in spine region?
It is important for you to understand the difference. If your muscles ache then you are experiencing DOMs which should subside with consistent training. If this is a different kid of pain (think twisting your ankle, hitting your yous shoulder against the door or hitting your hit against the door knob) - then I would see a doctor before continuing with your workouts.

classic delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), tends to kick in from as soon as six to eight hours post-exercise, and peaks around the 48 hour mark.
This is normal - good pain.
If it's happening during or immediately following the workout, it might be something to worry about. (bad pain)Levicticus 27-3: set the value of a male between the ages of twenty and sixty at fifty shekels of silver, for a female, set her value at thirty shekels
