glad to hear the storm lightened up by the time it hit land. any flooding in your area?

My cousin lives in Houston and during the hurricane there last year the water came up from the street halfway up their driveway. there was a river through their neighborhood but luckily their house was okay.

Flooding hit the city over from us but we managed to get out. I thought absolutely the river down the street was gonna get flooded and block the gym.

Just found out I got a new post I bid for too; going from being a on the floor in a building to the control booth. Also going to be doing swaps with a friend so I will work single/double/double, then have 4 days off.

Going to be pretty sweet.

Nice. Better pay, AC, safer, etc.

Same pay; no matter what post we work the pay is the same. Building had AC but the booth has it's own that I can control, and I couldn't care less about not being around the inmates. I actually like it simply because it gets you very good at dealing with them; communication skills can help.

Bonus is: I get the 40mm launcher, so if they fight.... BAM!

I'd be too tempted to repeatedly hit them with that. As you can tell based on this and previous posts, I'm a relatively evil person.

With how much I have used force, I have pretty much memorized our Use of Force Policy. From January until March we were having 2-4 fights per week in our dayroom. Was badass, loved all of it.

Then they got the hint; fight in the building and they get sprayed/shot... and it stopped being fun. So this will be a nice change since I will be rotating between Observation (my swaps) and 2 different buildings booths.

In hindsight that's good. For those with shorter sentences, they have a reason to behave.

Not really... a fight with no Serious Bodily Injury only loses them 30-60-90 days of credit; their actual maximum date does not change, they just lose the 'good boy' days they earned to get out early.

I've only been an official teacher for a year.

I can assure you that women are just as mean and nasty as men.

See men act out physically.

Women get inside other women's heads and mess things up from the inside, and they know they're doing it.
