I would have been one of those 16 yo's if the internet did exist when I was a teen
I think it's actually better now than back then that they have some form of social media to reach out to rather than keeping their possible genesis of disordered eating bottled up and to themselves
We didn't have that then, there wasn't IG, FB, NOTHING; we carried the burden ourselves; friends were no help however the anonymity of the internet vs sitting down face to face telling close friends my issues (couldn't talk to parents, god forbid they'd listen) would have allowed more open honesty towards my issues then which eventually would have led to me a disordered eating specialistNASM CPT

Another problem is that everyone has a different opinion about nutrition and fitness. For a young teen who aspires to look like Arnold, or maybe someone who is trying to lose weight and get toned, they don't know who to believe and it can be dangerous because they can do some serious damage to themselves.
You even see it on TV.- Your mindset influences your outcome. It's time to take out phrases like "I can't" or "I don't have time" and replace them with phrases like "I will make the time" and "I will keep working at it until I find a way that works." Success starts with the right mindset and believing in yourself and your dreams.

Very true especially the aspiring to Arnold and damage to themselves
I had a few discussions this week with some 20yos about doing a Pro BB'ers routine
Being not enhanced, they got a few injuries already, I just told them those workouts are "geared" for them, not you, I wont even go into the messed up diets, etc they tell me they are followingNASM CPT

Well that surgeon trip was a waste of time. He told me that while it is a hernia, it is not 'bad enough yet' that he want to do surgery; got a second opinion and was told the same thing.
I guess waiting until my intestines fall out again is the game plan. They said I would need surgery eventually, could be one year or five, only thing I can do is wait.
Bleh. On the upside, I scored some new slippers.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.
