    Growing bigger shoulders

For some reasons, I can't grow big shoulders. I need your opinion on this...

I am thinking keep working hard on my delts while trying to downsize by biceps & triceps a little to give a illusion on bigger shoulders.

What do you think about my strategy?

I am a figure competitor. Shoulders are key in our silhouette.

    Thx in advance!

Bis and tris do not make your shoulders look smaller.

More overhead pressing, more benching, and more eating, then pull-ups/rows/some rear delt isolation work to balance it out and keep your shoulders healthy.

FYI the reason is most likely because the shoulders are small muscles, and its not possible to naturally grow them particularly big. Genetics will play the biggest role here, followed by bodyfat levels.

Maybe try hitting your shoulders more often by throwing some shoulder work into other workouts. Mine responded well to hitting them three times a week: once where I hit them really hard during my weekly shoulder/bi/tri workout, and two other times during the week where I mixed in 3-5 sets of 3-way arm raises with 1 min rest in between. For the arm raises, I do 10 lateral raises, 10 front raises, and 10 reverse flys successively, and that's one set.

I hit my shoulders at least 2x a week since I have difficulty growing my delts. I usually love giant setting DB side lateral raises, front raises, and rear delt raises.

Thank you so much for the great info. I will increase the amounts of shoulder workouts in a week and add some extra shoulder exercises at the end of some workouts. I guess my genetic isn't the greatest for that particular body part. I'll be patient and do my homework. :-)

Definitely agree with having more than 1 shoulder day. When I bulked my coach had me on a back and shoulders specialization routine where I hit both back and shoulders 2x/wk. One day was super crazy heavy and the other was lighter with more reps. Worked extremely well.
