    Question anxiety relief?

I have been dealing with horrible stress and anxiety lately. I have been on Prozac before, but I hate the side effects.

I tired Rhodiola Rosea and it seemed to work, but it's a diuretic and made me dehydrated no matter how much water I drank.

Has anyone tried Ashwagandha or It Works-Confianza? Do either have side effects such as gas, bloating, or diuretic side effects? Do they work?

What is a good natural supplement for anxiety?

Ashwagandha does help imo. I recently just started taking it since I'm working a lot, running a business and going to school (15 credits).

I then started taking Tulsi which is aka Holy Basil.

I think they've both helped and dramatically changed my life so far and it's only been a few weeks of use.

I've been able to handle my workload with ease so far. I can completely focus on every word in class, take care of business after class/work, and still work on projects around the house, hit the gym etc. When you don't have stress and running thoughts about what you need to get done, you can do 2-3x more things than the average person under the same workload. At least, that's how it feels to me. These herbs are in combination with living a healthy and balanced life, however, and I've started doing yoga as well. I don't think it's just one thing more than the other, but I do feel these herbs play a significant role.

Lamictal is the only med (suitable for long term use) that does anything for anxiety (and I have been round the med-go-round a good few times now)

OP look up EMDR therapy. It is not talk therapy and has very good results for trauma/PTSD and anxieties very quickly

Did either Ashwagandha or Tulsi give you a diuretic effect? That and being jittery drove me crazy with Rhodiola...

I've heard really good things about Ashwagandha. Do you think I could take it by itself or do you recommend taking with the Tulsi?

Thanks so much for your response!

I already pee a lot since I drink a lot of water and coffee regularly, so I can't say it's made life any worse in that regard. I have not tried Rhodiola, heard of it, but no, I have no jitters currently.

You can absolutely take the Ashwagandha by itself brah, but these supplements are dirt cheap on Amazon and considering the benefits they have for me so far, they are well worth it. You can try the Ashwagandha first if you like, but I've read that it can take a few weeks to reap the full benefits of the herb. Perhaps do what I did and start there, then try the Holy Basil later or vice versa. I hope it works for you as well as it has worked for me.

Phenibut is easily the most effective 'OTC' drug for anxiety relief. Just be smart about your dosing schedule.

I hear you about SSRIs, I've been on them too for general anxiety disorder. Been off all scripts for a while now. I now micro dose with psilocybin (magic mushrooms) a few times a week. Works great. I enjoyed growing the mushrooms as well, it has become a new interest of mine.

You could also talk to your dr about gabapentin. Much better side effects profile vs traditional anxiety treatments.

Fresh air, go for a walk and get some sunshine.

Cardio, improve overall breathing. When I use to box, I had a resting heart rate of 50, now it’s around 70 and when I get nervous 120 so not cool.

    Sex and a good relationship.

    Beer is good.

I get a lot of anxiety myself from running a business. Juggling employees and client requirements and there’s always the possibility of a bad run (a few large accounts leaving at the same time) which could put us in trouble and screw people’s lives if I have to sack a bunch of them. I stay away from drugs though, I feel like that’s a gateway to addiction.
