Well, not sure age has anything to do with it...I've seen plenty of chit drivers of all ages, mostly young ones.

Anyway, that's just not a good situation all the way around. It seems that the motorcycle was going pretty fast judging by how much ground they covered even in a slowed down gif, and the car driver is headed into what looks like a mid-morning sun.

All my 'near' misses (touch wood never had an accident) were due to me riding too fast, or atleast too fast for the road/surface/weather conditions.

That biker was riding too fast. Not for the road, but because he could clearly see that there was a car there and he decided to still ride fast past it.

Ride like youre invisible. If someones indicating - they might not actually be turning. If someone is driving slowly, they may not be giving way to you or have seen you etc..

I normally only go out on bike rides now either late at night where I can see headlights everywhere, or really early in the morning when the roads are dead.

There's a youtube video (mvlog/pov) of a rider who gets taken out the same way and later passes away those words before the impact so many feels.

Whenever someone asks me about them becoming a rider i usually tell them to watch some of these gifs/videos srs.

3 cyclists just got takin out by me by someone going thru an intersection. I used to ride for a short time and saw how people would see right thru me pulling out. Luckily i was going slow but never again. I got in an accident which was my fault and sold my bike. Got kids now and don't want that early death BS

from looking at the gif i don't understand why the car driver is getting flak. the biker was clearly going too fast, the driver didn't see him because as he was turning, the bike was only just coming round the corner.
