Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Releasing On 8/23/2016

So I noticed my GeForce Experience drivers were out of date so I went to update it, read the patch notes, and saw Deus Ex: Mankind Divided as one of the games listed. This prompted me to look up the release date, and sure enough, it's imminent. I guess it was kinda overshadowed, at least to me, by No Man's Sky (which seemingly is a big flop in its current state).

Haven't seen much talk on here in regards to this. I personally haven't ever played Human Revolution, or any of the other games from the franchise to be honest, but I figure I'd start a thread about it.

Can't wait. Have a week off during release. Thought about a day but with usual bugs and what not I decided a week. Might make it two, because once you start you can't stop. It's like an infectious disease, crawling up your skin.

Things I hope to see in the new game:

• Birth of UNATCO
• AREA 51
• Live or die decisions for bosses
• More Aug upgrade paths
• More melee
• Expand on "dialogue combat"
• Alex becoming a character tying into the first game
• More tech!

As long as they keep the soundtrack being awesome and the theme rolling we'll be in good shape.

Yeah man. I can give you a run down with some spoilers but it'll take a minute to type up. Some key things to think about when playing:

Do you like orange soda, or prefer lemon-lime?

Would you throw a vending machine at a homeless child asking for food?

Have you ever wanted to be a God?

When you say they're drones, do you mean brainwashed bureaucrats or cyborgs?

Would you lie to your boss?

Do you enjoy small spaces?

I tend to buy games and not finish them or play for 5 mins and move on to the next. I know I'm not the only one with this disease. Last game I actually beat was Shadowrun: Returns. Played Dragonfall for 5 mins and have Hong Kong sitting on the backlog as well.

Most of my time now is spent on Rocket League and leveling some toons in anticipation of WoW Legion. Before that I was in a serious raiding guild on Guild Wars 2 and I dabble in Overwatch/CSGO. That is I play mostly games you can't beat, per se. So for the time being I don't get much other gaming in between WoW and Rocket League. Especially with tourney season coming back up for RL where I live.

This. A FPS/RPG combo that farkin blew me away at the time, open world, being able to choose if you sneak around or go in and kill everyone. Loved every game in the series, HR the version with the DLC inserted and updated boss fights was fukin sweet.


HR made my old 7970 hurt though, don't think even crysis made it run as hot. Worried how a 290X will cope, may be the game that pushes me over the edge to water cooling.

Yeah I must say the boss fights are sick attempting the no kill/alarm playthrough on give me the deus ex difficulty and went into the first boss with only a stun gun and concussion grenade. Intense AF

When adjusted to consider what else was on the market at the time, DE > DE:HR easily. Pretty ****ing mindblowing a game as diverse and opened-ended as Deus Ex was released in 2000, that was around the time Counter-Strike sprung up.

Haha, PC Powerplay? I swear they used to do a top 100 video games of all time list every year and every year without fail Deus Ex was number 1 with Half Life as number 2.
