i said a while ago, stop Burns and you stop the Sharks. I really dont think its a coincidence that burns slump and the Sharks slump have coincided with each other.

Obviously when your star player stops producing your going to struggle, but the Sharks are unable to generate any offence without him leading the way.

The game plan is either feed Thornton low for a pass to the slot, or feed Burns at the point for a shot on goal and hope for a tip/rebound/Burns to score.

Although this could be a blessing in disguise if they can draw Edmonton round 1

Pretty sure the Sharks are the only team in the NHL with four players with 25+ goals. Without Burns they definitely are hurting, but it's not a death sentence IMO. Thornton is having one of the worst years in his career, yet they're in first in the division, even after dropping five in a row.

I don't think it's solely Burns, but everyone.

You know what comes with a tank? A losing fukn culture.

Look at the Oilers, Leafs etc. It took them 10-12 years to get to where they are now and that's only because they lucked out. Look at all the players the Oilers got and couldn't do chit with because no one in that organization knew how to win. A losing culture is fukn poison for a franchise and it takes YEARS for a team to get rid of it.

And wtf would the Canucks do with the #1 pick this year? There is no McDavid, Matthews, Laine type of player.
